Let me explain.... Tai is a PIA to drive on...... and for me out of the way. So many larger supermarkets are easier to drive to and park at.

They will make money on what they charge you for a new unit and likely get something for the old one they kindly take away.....

Well yes, I also recall someone who worked at a large condo complex who took deposits, and was offering special discounts if people paid up front. No condo and no agent when many arrived....I believe the building management tried to help folks out though as this was a legitimate employee, who did a runner. 'No Refunds' is a common sign in Thailand, but I too have managed to get a few, usually from Westerners though.

Jeez.... a rogue party at some little house, when foolish parents had left a child in control of the family home was as good as I got... and those you had to bring your own booze. Not many birthday parties at a pool villa going!

Anyone who actually wants to drive on Pattaya Tai both ways, particularly these days, for a bit of shopping is also perplexing. If one can do the weekly shop on foot, or on a motorcycle, you could probably manage at a much closer 7-11.

I doubt the news is limited to just this forum! And may well include non Germans. If you take the time to read the OP, you can see it was lifted from another publication...... Plenty of Thai tourists come here!

Well most m/cs do not have foot pedals for operation..... we also see shirtless tourists riding motorcycles and I always felt a serious case of road burn a high risk. One day perhaps, the guy you saw will come across a pile of doggy doo at the lights.

This country needs to get a grip on the fact that their favourite tourists do not give a flying xxxx about their rules and regulations, and will treat Thailand as an extension of their own country. Obviously to the extent of excluding the locals from whatever business they feel inclined to set up. -
