  1. I hear they are in Bali in quite large numbers too.
  2. That is just above where my State pension is 'frozen'.... great, thanks!
  3. 1) Possibly, but I suspect if your application is done through an agent it will sail through. 2) Embassies are no longer in that game for sure. 3) Some paperwork may have to be verified, maybe notary or 'certified copy'. Jobs and income for yet more locals. I still suggest people are getting ahead of themselves..... at worst a TIN obtained and a tax return filed for a long extension..... the guy in the tax office did mine for me previously, I couldn't read it. I gave them a big tin of biscuits.
  4. True enough.... sizeable parking, big pools and a bit of space around the buildings. Beats parking in the basement, pool on the roof and an ability to swap a newspaper with someone in the next block.
  5. If the USD weakens, surely their USD holdings will lose value relative to something or other?
  6. Only thing in common is they both do not speak English very well?
  7. 3 Litre diesel with intercooler!
  8. Always used to first notice it riding home on the bike after Loy Kratong!
  9. She is 20 years old now with her own SUV!
  10. Yes, it's a dodgy world... my Mrs currently miffed after a Facebook on-line pomelo seller scamming her!
  11. Yes a balance is needed, although let us not require 4 witnesses as per a certain religion.

No but he seems to like watching them! Useful that now and again a group of young 'uns come in and get the girls going, puts this old boy back in his place!
  13. Yes, there's what tourists pay, and then what expats pay.. don't end up in the wrong group.
  14. Did you check that price. Me and a pal were discussing ACs only recently and felt it was hard to find low priced ones like that, known brand, and expect to be over 15k.
  15. I will take your word for it, not having been back myself for a while. The news reports are deterrent enough.
  16. Next door to my nearest petrol/gas station is a distributor type place, that sells a wide variety of alcohol. It is not restricted by the 11-2pm nonsense either. You would think they could only sell cases of beer, but no, plenty large glass door bar type fridges, loaded up with ice cold cans and bottles, many varieties of beer.
  17. Makes me think of Bobby Charlton who recently died in a UK care home... result of a fall, not really his age ( 86) or dementia. Yes a Thailand care home is a good option... but hard for close family to visit regularly!
  18. Can't keep their face generated ego in check, even when guests in another country. I am of the thought they are all 'young' mentally.
  19. I was thinking that only yesterday, mid afternoon wondering why I felt so hot, and early evening, out to eat, why is it still warm? It is November..... dare I think ahead to next year's hot season?
