  1. One has to form a government first and that has to be done under the existing rules. A right stitch up!
  2. When he was in power, I recall seeing great optimism in the average Thai people....not only in rural areas, but those in Pattaya.
  3. Not sure that applies in the strange culture of Thailand..... an abstention is probably close to a no vote... but loses less face for the person making the vote, and the recipient, than a NO vote. In a culture avoiding the confrontation, it fits. Sadly it being counted as against appears wrong.... That constitutional amendment a few years back, was a clever stitch up,
  4. RU saying this is what happens in the UK these days or elsewhere? Certainly used to be the landlord's job in the past.
  5. Never signed off on any drinks on LK Metro recently.... but recall it happening on WS to me. I do not believe speaking Thai helps, more about how one behaves. Telling the tequila girls to go away is usually a good start. It's all about them finding them mugs who spend freely and no subterfuge required as they buy all and sundry, plus the toilet monkey a drink! Then it becomes a shark feeding frenzy.
  6. I don't doubt it. Since court cases are done in private we never really get follow ups. And a country where a few payments work wonders and there is endemic corruption, anything can be achieved .... only the poor go to jail. I often wonder where the multiple murderer who beat an Oz guy to death (in a soi 6 Pattaya bar) went. I heard he got out of Thailand. But even those who do go to jail, there is no more heard.
  7. Don't you get a little embarrassed wheeling out that little bit of irrelevant nonsense over and over. People were made to look foolish saying that 3 or so years ago.
  8. Doesn't appear you can even write it comprehensibly yourself!
  9. Heck no, there would hardly be any girls left, not to mention monks!
  10. True enough,,,, the dead have no voice, they just leave behind people who forget them.
  11. Yep, tell that to the nearly 7million it killed!
  12. Although the UK makes trivial stuff like tittle tattle into the main headline rather too often....
  13. Heck no..... other charges and convictions stand. He got 5 for holding phone shares (Shin Corp).
  14. Picking up those colonial ideas eh?
  15. Then you did rather poorly....perhaps using a UK foreign bank /ATM card, because my records show the exchange rate for June (SCB TT Rate) varied between 42 and 44+ for June 2023...lowest I saw was 42.71 on 1st June... Source
  16. It is like the House of Lords having the right to vote for PM in the UK.
  17. To stoke the dying embers of what has been very profitable, and given raison d'être to so many!
  18. Apparently some are out of the country... perhaps Thai airways could stop giving them free flights.
  19. So what I am being told is they want a Rolex or Omega to be up to an hour late?
  20. He seems to be struggling to move well.... perhaps the result of being in hiding. But without a weapon, he must have had help to commit the crime. Also dubious publicity for Australian MC Clubs.
  21. I don't believe in making them responsible for people who knowingly tried to get into the country on false pretense. Nice of you to think of the poor criminals!
