  1. Had you recently bought a new battery it would have been likely they swapped that for you too!
  2. Like buying British Leyland or even an Alpha Romeo in the 70s-80s!
  3. It would be ironic if it could hit North Korea,
  4. They sell clocks that keep time for a matter of hours!
  5. It is quite a pleasant experience to sit on the beach in the cool weather at midnight or so..... a pity the police's inability to keep the undesirables away makes it so risky.
  6. I was trying to think which venues share walls with the place and whether any operated as a guest house. Doubt there is a quiet room anywhere to be had on LK these days.
  7. Hard to know which are, also if a repair is an insurance claim, you don't get much choice.
  8. From my armchair yes... you would have hit him from behind and that would put you at fault. You have to presume someone will do something stupid here... because all too often, they do. (Many drive here as if they have right of way to enter into the left lane).
  9. As you also say deafened too! My neighbours seem to have no issue with thier incessant barking. (When they are at home that is).
  10. Keep it on the pitch like ice hockey!
  11. The guy was riding at high speed..... had it been a Thai rider I bet we would see differing comments.
  12. I believe it depends on where in the UK you are thinking of. Some areas are very pleasant. Probably beyond most of our means though. Have you actually been to many cities in South America where I assure you they take being a garbage hole to further extremes.
  13. We saw these overcrowding situations in the past, pre-Covid, it was as if they had no idea how many flights were expected and they were short of staff....seems to happen less than the computer failures at Heathrow!
  14. In the UK they are discussing winter power black outs for many days. I also believe the extra on energy bills likely will exceed the £500 I mentioned. Last year, many were on special packages from one of the plethora of energy suppliers, that are now bankrupt. For a retired couple, or a single /divorced older man... turning the thermostat down to 15 degC and spending the heating allowance in Thailand, where food (and many other goods) are also cheaper, looks good. The sunshine also looks better than candlelight and freezing temperatures.
  15. Probably hurts less too..... but YOGHURT, yeuch!
  16. Might be bothered by the extra £500 on their energy bills though!
  17. It might be better defined in Thai, but I read that as an 18 yo cannot work in a GGB for example. And where are these 'Ministerial Regulations'.... ? There used to be talk of this many years ago and it was always said the girls had to be 20+.
  18. Oh really, And is the tobacco monopoly in the public interest too.
  19. It is a form of clean through, some pay lots of money at health clinics to get that done.
  20. Sure? I also believed it was older and had been for many years.
  21. A tried and tested formula.....
  22. Might depend whether the survey was taken, in a gym, or at a bar early morning.
  23. Or maybe a Cockatoo!
  24. And I thought not.. Home-brewing is illegal in Thailand. To get a beer-making licence, Thais must be able to produce 100,000 litres a year and have $400,000 in the bank, which effectively shuts out small players.
  25. I might dispute this..... there is frequent evidence daughters are available.
