Yes I have seen such sensors on a neighbour's gate, but, as to being a requirement, they are only installed on one rolling gate of 4 near my house. -

It was daylight but it is nevertheless difficult to judge the speed of a distant headlight. There is also a mentality here that if you can get your vehicle out, and turn your back onto oncoming, it is acceptable to go. The bike can do over 150m in 5 seconds..... -
Well the 10,000 it cost him may well be a deterrent but too small a one. I had heard that if one 'sticks it out' that the official fine from the court is less, but you suffer the discomfort of staying in the cells etc. Also you will be extorted there too..... in the station, and perhaps threatened with a trip to immigration to cancel your 'visa' after court... unless.... outstretched palm. Yes, it is about making money.

Biggest impediment might be my inability to operate my phone and find the pics after being on the sauce. I don't even carry my driving licence nor ATM cards as, per your comments, lot of hassle if lost or stolen. There are 2 other threads in this forum discussing pick-pocketing in town so hardly makes sense to risk it! The pic of the Extension stamp shows clearly when it is valid until. -
My gate does not have such stop sensors, not even sure there are torque switches or anything of that type to stop anyone being caught... I suspect not as it has managed to screw up tight onto the end stops, requiring the key to disengage the motor and release it. I think if i had kids I would get the safety sensors.

I will get nagged here, but I never carry my passport or a paper copy when I am on a night out. Just cash .... I admit I have pics of passport and extension on my phone. -
Why haven't you bought one in your own name..... ? My Mrs nagged me into it and 15 years later, still got it and reckon it has paid for itself a few times over. (Would only be about 5 years to cover it).

It is quite a pleasant experience to sit on the beach in the cool weather at midnight or so..... a pity the police's inability to keep the undesirables away makes it so risky. -
I was trying to think which venues share walls with the place and whether any operated as a guest house. Doubt there is a quiet room anywhere to be had on LK these days.

From my armchair yes... you would have hit him from behind and that would put you at fault. You have to presume someone will do something stupid here... because all too often, they do. (Many drive here as if they have right of way to enter into the left lane). -
As you also say deafened too! My neighbours seem to have no issue with thier incessant barking. (When they are at home that is).
