  1. It sounds like you just want to come here for a 6 month vacation. Why bother teaching? The kids will eat you alive. A 20 year old really isn't old enough. Students won't take you serious. sorry, just my opinion. If you're serious about teaching...try it, but you may be in for a huge surprise here. TIT

  2. only thing i question is why they waited so long to shoot him and pray they dont make a martyr out of him. The military should have taking him in months ago.

The reds , (i hope) realize it is their best interest to deal and end this before it escalates further.

Straight out murder..... I hope the prime minister is held accountatble

Murder?? oh,PALEEAASE!! HE's been terrorizing the country. He deserves what he got.

  3. My Thai daughter-in-law and I worked hard for her visa to join my son in UK. She arrived here 6 months ago, thank goodness. Her entire family remains in Bangkok, and I do not appreciate the facetious comments made about this frightening situation.

They are lovely people who welcomed us to the wedding of my son and daughter-in-law in Bangkok. We stayed on Silom, took our children to play in Lumpini Park, had our wedding clothes made by a charming tailor on Silom, bought silk scarves from a lady nearby, and the wedding was held in a hotel just off Silom. Every time there are pictures of the barricades set up by the Red faction, I recognise places we enjoyed.

All these small businesses that welcomed us must be devastated by the Red blockades.

The family stayed with us in UK in February to celebrate the reunion of their daughter/sister with my son. I think all the time of the dangers they must be now facing.

Please respond seriously to the situation and keep us informed about what is happening.

If you have ever lived in Thailand for awhile 'facetious' is totally appropriate. Sorry to hear your son married a thai woman. You'll see what i mean when they have financial or marital problems. Generally,Their smiles mean they want your money(Farang=ATM) or they want to hide their true feelings from you.

yes there are good Thais, however,(sad to say) they really seem to be the minority.

  4. I'm sorry to ask a potentially very "blond" question, but is someone able to explain to me why the protestors are free to roam around as they please, why people, food, water etc. can be brought to Rajprasong intersection without problem at all? Why are the protestors controlling road blocks around this are rather than the police? Why aren't the protestors cut off any supply incl. the freedom to come and go as they please? I still can't get my head around this… :D

I have been asking myself the same questions. :)

The reds are SO comfortable on Rajaprasong Road and at Lumphini Park. From the skytrain it looks like a bunch of people in red having picnics at Lumphini Park....and of course no police around. They've got a catering business going for thousands of people. Police and Military just standing around posing....AMAZING THAILAND!!!!
