looks clean as i keep it top paint side up, 1000k was old post iv done a lot more than that now, and of course it looks new its about 7 weeks old and gets cleaned regularly , in the pictures you may see iv changed the bark busters yes i toasted them and its got knocks,Not trying to top you but I've done 4000km of off roading in the last 5 months usually out for 4-6 hours at a time ,of coarse the hondas aren't invincible when your throwing the bike around things will break I've only managed to smash the radiator up a and bent the clutch foot pedal of coarse every piece off plastic is scratched as for regaling the shock I thought their sealed units so can't be regassed
Judging by the pictures of your bike it looks brand new doesn't look like it's done too much hard off road riding
Not knocking you or your bike but I think your jumping the gun a bit you have only covered 1000km and already had brake and speedo problems ,let's see how it's going in say 5-6 months time or when you have done 4-5000 km
anyway i thought the idea of a forum was to give information about the bike to people who were possibly thinking of purchasing?not for those who have never rode one owned one or actualy seen one with own eyes to slag them off,
sorry for anyone reading this thread to find something out about this bike they will have to read through a lot of crap
Yes dean the point of the thread is to put info out there ,which is why I asked a couple of threads back what's happening with the speedo last we heard the dealer kept putting the phone down on you ,most peopl who had a 7 week old bike with brake and speedo problems wouldn't be to happy with it, you ignored my question and went on to compare your bike and talk about crf problems.
People want to know are the dealers helpfull and capable ,so is the speedo fixed now or are you riding a brand new 7 week old bike with no speedometer ,could you also give us more info about this problem is it just the speed reading not working or has the whole dashboard packed up i.e do all the warning lights and indicator lights still work this is what people what info info info
P.s have you checked the fuse for the speedo as when I installed a USB charger on my bike I blew the fuse for the dash a couple of times obviously an easy fix you can do yourself if that's the problem

lol only problem is now his speedo don't work so no way of knowing how many km covered.....
Ok but back to info regarding this bike , deaneburn if you ride with guys with crf,s perhaps you could have alittle go on each others bikes and give us a report on how the ride is between the two bikes.

yes im almost 6ft and can beerly touch the floor on the platinum 250 even after having the seat shaved at least 2 inch of foam off,Remember that these off road bikes are tall bikes, there is a smaller percentage of Thais than can ride them without difficulty.
its a bit tricky trying to do a hillstart in an off road track when you cant put ither food down, a small thai would have no chance,
i ride my new scoop knees up to my chin ass in the cubby box and propper uncomfortable, ok for small people thats why thais buy them,
this bike again has don 4 hours of extreme offroading around doi suthep and never faltered new shooes on her it was great
Any update the speedo repair ,there is a whole group of guys in change mai that do some tough off roading you should hook up with them believe they go out every Friday.
Oh and well done 4 hours with no problems.

Most thais and ferang would and do choose Honda scoopy/wave/click over a platinum/lifan nothing to do with price as the lifan is cheaper than some of the honda offerings they want quality and years of reliability ,people don't want to be taking a new bike back to the dealer every 5 minutes becausecthis or that don't work.
Look at the kawa ksr it's a great seller here and again more expensive than the platinum Thais no not to buy cheap as it costs you more in the lOng run ,no matter how many threads you start wanton it ain't gonna change for at least 5yeats minimum if ever

Hello to all,
Im wondering how much the cost of a 30 year lease for a small piece of land
to build and live on in the chonburi area ?.
Or maybe its just cheaper to rent a house ?.
Many thanks for any help.
Regards.
Charlie.
30 year lease or renting is basically the same thing except one off them you pay a huge sum upfront and are pretty tied into it ,the other one is payed monthly and you can walk away anytime pretty obvious which is the better choice.

Well guys I got some good news, went to Big Wing today. Told sales person want to buy CBR500 in cash. 10 mins later I bought it. Its white with blue and red stripes. HE said if I want red or black anywhere between 1-3 months wait, cant be asked to wait that long just because of the color. Had a test drive few laps around the soi on the red one. Really liked it.
I was expecting some free stuff when you buy in cash, but the only thing I got is road tax free for 1 year (800 bht) and 10% off ridiculously overpriced gear. The insurance was surprisingly expensive 9,200 bht for a year. Iam still thinking on that. sort on cash now.
In regards to financing now the minimum down payment is 48,000 bht!!!! shockign and thats on interest rate of 9% up from 5.5 I saw 2 months ago.
Congratulations told you phone calls are no good turn up with hard cash and you get a result enjoy:)

Mmm it seems like there is alot more to it than just adding fuel controllers/maps,exhausts etc to try and get these bikes running smooth and delivering full power i know the dyno reads low but 130 bhp is still alittle way of from what it should be.

I would fly into laos or cambodia and try entering through a land border at least then if you are blacklisted you just step back into laos or cambodia, better than being held and detained at the airport while there waiting to put you on another flight out the country

them figures seem extremely low shouldn't it be 160-170 bhp, what was the final cost for current upgrades

and therein lies the problem , people talk about these companies need to det up a dealer network ,the problem is people don't want to sell these bikes because of too many comebacks ,certain shops will sell them for a while then after so many complaints the shops are not interested in selling them anymore,as deaneburn is finding out with the dealer putting the phone down on him twice
-
Could be just loads of people have put deposit down= long waiting list
-
Wow been told will get e bike late march- april. I understand there might be a high demand but come on what do they roll out 1 bike a week?
Dd you put deposit down and was that for the cbr
Lol there not even released in any other country till march/April I reckon there havin a laugh with you

You might find your beer going up too. One local Mom and Pop shop has put theirs up 10% a bottle.
Found that out as well yesterday , I guess it seems to go in six mth cycles but yu would have to admit 10% is alot
Our drinks supplier told us today a 24 can pack of Leo is up 50 bht ,he expects the others to rise in price shortly

Ok the misses tells me the letter says from jan 01 st you are automatically switched to the new service which is 200 bht month and 1 bht a min for Internet,
The rest of the letter is them trying to sell you the new service which they say is unlimited but is really capped at 3 or 5 gb.
Great I have been using mine for 4/5 hours a night to stream tv,I'm gonna keep using it till they cut it off and refuse to pay the 1 bht/min due to not signing any contract agreeing to their new changes in tariffs/charges
-
Lol.
I was looking for this thread today ,my dongle still works only now I don't know how much I am paying for it,
I will show the misses the above post in the morning and get her to translate it.

I need to come to reserve the bike, however I need to bloody know how much money to bring yet he doesnt say.
Most bike shops will accept 5k baht
Of course you may leave more & some will accept 3k
But I am sure if you take 5k you will be fine if you want
to reserve a bike
The shop is probably getting loads of phone calls aday about this bike ,just go down the shop with a stack of 1000 bht notes and your get all your questions answered.

I am still using an iPhone 3G had it for 2 years bought it 2nd hand in mbk, time to change soon only because apple stopped upgrading the software for this model so most of the new apps won't work on the old 3G models, next time I go Bangkok probably trade in the 3G for a 2nd hand 4/4s, I defo wouldn't spend 20/22k for a phone ,with trade in I will probably be looking 8/10 k for the 4/4s

This raises an interesting point, and shows why all this "saving the planet" is such bullshit, these cheapo bikes are not built to last..
The tap problem is with the design, the ones they sell here (made in China) are "rotary shoe" valves, the older type (when we weren't trying to save the planet) were of "plug and seat" type, the seat being a replaceable rubber washer. The rotating shoe being an integral part of the tap, with a limited lifespan..
The theory is if the tap wears out, leaks and cannot be fixed it it may as well be made out of crap materials too. In the UK you can buy old taps made from brass that are 100 years old and still work perfectly, requiring a 1 baht rubber washer every 10 years.
The Chinese don't want things to last, if they do they won't be able to sell a replacement.
Most things are not build to last nowadays. Thats what keeps the economy running. Its not the chinese fault. Consumption is mainly pushed by western companies and shareholders.
I read an interesting text about how companies build in faults into their products so they brake down after a while. No company wants to sell products that last 25years any more. Has nothing to do with chinese, but with making money and with surviving on a "globalised market".
What about Apple? They build their phones without possibility to change the rechargeable battery. These phones are clearly "use 2years than throw away" products. And i doubt that in 20 years any service center will still have a diagnostic computer to service a fuel injected CBR150. So these bikes are made for throw away too.
I don't want to lead thus thread even more of topic but what aload of rubbish I have changed batteries in iPhones and iPods without a problem 2 year throw away products my iPhone is three years old so how do you come to your conclusion wanton ,I was stupid enough to buy a iPhone copy once lasted 3 weeks ,which backs up mine and most other peoples views that stuff coming out of china is cheap crap that's a waste of money.

professional real eststate agent in Thailand
Sorry don't think they exist here
Don't really think this question can be answered here to many factors depending on how clued up the landlord is , how friendly you are with the landlord and what kind of contract the landlord is willing to sign.

Oh dear so it looks like the day is finally coming ,been using the cat dongle to stream tv for a year ,no capped usage plan is of any use to me , so it's no more tv for me.

Looking at the pictures just noticed this bike has drum brakes on the rear, that is going to cause you constant problems when your in thick mud the whole drum will fill with mud and <deleted> it never dries out and just destroys all the brake components happens on my honda click all the time and even happened with our 4x4 truck just spent 8,000 bht replacing both rear drums and pads on the car because of this pics below
