  1. Happens all the time usually on the transfer from ko samui, happened to me 6 years ago when travelling Thailand ,I have now been living ao nang 5 years and still don't know where this place is that they drop you........lol

  2. No amount of Googling is going to save you from being taken to a "tour desk" where are you told that since they don't know where your hotel is, your given the hard sale and are told that you need to re-book a different hotel, and also must pay an additional fee to the driver to take you there. I've heard that one twice in the last couple weeks and as you can see from that PW article, we aren't the only ones this is happening too. We are getting no shows and I am certain that this is the cause of some of them.

You know, I just don't buy that tour desk thing. Does that tourist not have a contact phone number ? Is that tourist a complete idiot ? They have a firm booking, with reservation information. Ok, I accept that the average newbie is here for a good time holiday and does not want any aggro - and the best of luck to them if they take that position.

With what phone are they going to call? I had forgot to mention that one of the drivers said he had no money on his phone so couldn't call.

LIK you really need to go read that article at the news source which cannot be named. Others are having the same problem.

And yes, tourists are often complete idiots.

Oh this definitely happens we have the same problem over in krabi ,the taxi will drive them round for ages then say can't find the place or it must be closed ,the taxi then takes them to another resort where he gets commission for bringing customers, seems to happen more in low season when fewer tourists about.

  3. One off my favourite restaurants I have ever eaten in is in khao lak ,

I always find it bait strange up there it's pretty big and spreads probably at least 40 km along the coast line the north end mainly big posh hotels beachfront them sort of customers never leave the hotel, only ever been there low season so always seems dead to me, know the owner of ayara villas he seems to do well in the few months there are tourists around.

  4. The only thing stopping me ordering is the descision on 11"or 13" ,have managed to see and play with the 13" now, nice maybe a little big, really want to see the 11" first but dont have time to do the 4 hour round trip to the nearest shop with stock as bussiness got busy now, think i try to look at normal 11" laptops in local shop to get an idea of size before i finally decide.

Filling in order form on the apple online site yesterday gave delivery date of 17-19 dec if ordered yesterday.

Sent from my GT-P7500 using Thaivisa Connect App

  5. Are you the actual owner of all the condos then ie the developer,it sure sounds like it the way you are talking, perhaps the land owner isn't happy that they built condos and put a swimming pool so close to his land so he decided to put fence up.

I think there may be alot more to this story than you are telling us as you already mentioned he is not approachable to have reasonable negotiations with.

Who is gonna pay to lease this land from him you telling me everyone in the condo blocks would pay to have extra communal land ,can't see that happening anywhere.

P.s you day his fence is on the boundary where else would you want him to put it,maybe 20 meters in from the boundary hence giving you extra 20meters of his land again never gonna happen

  6. My first ever bike was an yamaha rd 125,bought 2 nd hand Age 17 ,didn't even know how to ride when I bought it but boy when you hit the powerband that thing was crazy ,can't remember exactly but sure it used to hit 90 mph with no problem ,kind of puts the 250 4 strokes off today to shame.

  7. Has anyone ridden the bike yet? Honda claims that the frugal nc700 has the same 0-100km as a cbr600, so maybe this 500 cbr is not so bad. Let us agree that honda knows what they are doing, maybe they did not launch the bike that YOU wanted or expected. If you really want a sporty bike pay the price... CBR1000r starts at 799.000 the... Go for it guys.

I am sure that the cbr500 will fit for the market they created this bike for. I am quite sure if you throw enough money at it it will be very sporty, fast, and it does look very nice, even if it is a litte small for my size...

Come to size, did not many people like the size of the cbr250, only it was a bit weak, well, here it is, almost same size, twice the power, go and enjoy...

I had my hopes for the cb500x as a second bike, but it is just to small for that, so I would rather buy the versys now, as it is quite higher taller than this new bike. I have not seen it in real life yet so that is a must...

Real l I've is calling me, I like power and I like speed, my budget will stop at the z1000, that is enough power for me... And it is the same seat height as the cb500x give or take half a centimetre...

Why always complain about the bikes that are launched? Be happy with the fact we are getting new bikes... I for one is very happy even if I will not buy one... Bikers are friendly people...

Good post apart from the Honda comments about nc700 ,owners have timed there bikes at 5seconds cbr 600 3 seconds so I honestly don't know where Honda got there figures from
