Bus Rip Off
in Krabi
Happens all the time usually on the transfer from ko samui, happened to me 6 years ago when travelling Thailand ,I have now been living ao nang 5 years and still don't know where this place is that they drop you........lol
-
Can't comment on their after sales service however the MacBook I'm about to order from apple Thailand is 8000 bht cheaper here than if I ordered it from apple uk so no complaints from me.

No amount of Googling is going to save you from being taken to a "tour desk" where are you told that since they don't know where your hotel is, your given the hard sale and are told that you need to re-book a different hotel, and also must pay an additional fee to the driver to take you there. I've heard that one twice in the last couple weeks and as you can see from that PW article, we aren't the only ones this is happening too. We are getting no shows and I am certain that this is the cause of some of them.
You know, I just don't buy that tour desk thing. Does that tourist not have a contact phone number ? Is that tourist a complete idiot ? They have a firm booking, with reservation information. Ok, I accept that the average newbie is here for a good time holiday and does not want any aggro - and the best of luck to them if they take that position.
With what phone are they going to call? I had forgot to mention that one of the drivers said he had no money on his phone so couldn't call.
LIK you really need to go read that article at the news source which cannot be named. Others are having the same problem.
And yes, tourists are often complete idiots.
Oh this definitely happens we have the same problem over in krabi ,the taxi will drive them round for ages then say can't find the place or it must be closed ,the taxi then takes them to another resort where he gets commission for bringing customers, seems to happen more in low season when fewer tourists about.
-
Sorry to hear all that , seems you are in the same frame of mind as me ,after 7 years I'm exactly the same ,told the wife a couple of years ago I will never buy or even bring money into the country and I'm back to uk next year to have a serious think about my life and future in Thailand
Good luck anyway

One off my favourite restaurants I have ever eaten in is in khao lak ,
I always find it bait strange up there it's pretty big and spreads probably at least 40 km along the coast line the north end mainly big posh hotels beachfront them sort of customers never leave the hotel, only ever been there low season so always seems dead to me, know the owner of ayara villas he seems to do well in the few months there are tourists around.

I'm no expert but 64 gb isn't much I have 40 gb of music that I want stored on there ,so for me I want the 128 gb if you carry a hard drive around Doesn't really matter.
These are pretty new versions can't see them bringing anything newer soon but this is apple so who knows

The only thing stopping me ordering is the descision on 11"or 13" ,have managed to see and play with the 13" now, nice maybe a little big, really want to see the 11" first but dont have time to do the 4 hour round trip to the nearest shop with stock as bussiness got busy now, think i try to look at normal 11" laptops in local shop to get an idea of size before i finally decide.
Filling in order form on the apple online site yesterday gave delivery date of 17-19 dec if ordered yesterday.

Have heard on here some land offices will not issue usufruct to ferang,I believe that's not what usufructs were originally intended to be used for ,more for thai people who want to farm the land.
-
Got to agree with the last paragraph above ,who builds a condo block puts a swimming pool in 1 meter from someone elses land and doesn't wall it in.
-
Yep I'm also just about to get one of these only up grade I'm getting is 128 gb storage was looking today on online apple store the only thing is they don't have any sleeves (cases) to protect them , not really a problem as the iPad and galaxy tab covers should fit
-
Are you the actual owner of all the condos then ie the developer,it sure sounds like it the way you are talking, perhaps the land owner isn't happy that they built condos and put a swimming pool so close to his land so he decided to put fence up.
I think there may be alot more to this story than you are telling us as you already mentioned he is not approachable to have reasonable negotiations with.
Who is gonna pay to lease this land from him you telling me everyone in the condo blocks would pay to have extra communal land ,can't see that happening anywhere.
P.s you day his fence is on the boundary where else would you want him to put it,maybe 20 meters in from the boundary hence giving you extra 20meters of his land again never gonna happen

That's what gps is for ,
Anyway there is a yammy r6 and cbr 1000 2011 in classifieds today priced 170k and 150k we are being spoiled today......lol

so you didn't tell the Vietnam shop you dropped it then.
Glad you got it sorted in the end.
-
Alot of time when they erect the galvanised sheet fences it is for when they are going to commence building work, perhaps landowner is going to build.
At the of the day a thai person is entitled to do what they like on their land, and no fearing is gonna stop them.

Dunno what your all complaining about been living over in krabi for the last 5 years no electric in the day and we run generator a night only small genny so no air-con
What do you need electric in the daytime for anyway?
-
The quoted speeds are nearly always wrong I wait until someone buys one and takes it to it's limit then we know the correct top speed I'd hazard a guess you will see 170-180 on the speedo
-
I used the hard breakin method on my crf on 3800 km now all seems well, going in for the 4000 km service next week and changing to synthetic oil.
Vocal Neil summed it up the first 20 km is the important part and must change the oil on 100 km.

didn't think anyone new actual top speed of the 500

the op states condo ,obviously the developer crams as much as he can it the smallest space possible.
Op better of bringing it up with all other condo owners first see if they are willing to pay

My first ever bike was an yamaha rd 125,bought 2 nd hand Age 17 ,didn't even know how to ride when I bought it but boy when you hit the powerband that thing was crazy ,can't remember exactly but sure it used to hit 90 mph with no problem ,kind of puts the 250 4 strokes off today to shame.
-
So only 6 days then someone can start a cbr 500 owners thread ,who's it gonna be first loserlazer or Sumer cycle , looking forward to getting some honest owners feedback and reviews on this bike.
-
Krabi has plates now,got mine last week after 6 month wait ...... Don't really make any difference to me I only use the bike off road so I don't bother to fix the plate on just carry it in my bag.

Has anyone ridden the bike yet? Honda claims that the frugal nc700 has the same 0-100km as a cbr600, so maybe this 500 cbr is not so bad. Let us agree that honda knows what they are doing, maybe they did not launch the bike that YOU wanted or expected. If you really want a sporty bike pay the price... CBR1000r starts at 799.000 the... Go for it guys.
I am sure that the cbr500 will fit for the market they created this bike for. I am quite sure if you throw enough money at it it will be very sporty, fast, and it does look very nice, even if it is a litte small for my size...
Come to size, did not many people like the size of the cbr250, only it was a bit weak, well, here it is, almost same size, twice the power, go and enjoy...
I had my hopes for the cb500x as a second bike, but it is just to small for that, so I would rather buy the versys now, as it is quite higher taller than this new bike. I have not seen it in real life yet so that is a must...
Real l I've is calling me, I like power and I like speed, my budget will stop at the z1000, that is enough power for me... And it is the same seat height as the cb500x give or take half a centimetre...
Why always complain about the bikes that are launched? Be happy with the fact we are getting new bikes... I for one is very happy even if I will not buy one... Bikers are friendly people...
Good post apart from the Honda comments about nc700 ,owners have timed there bikes at 5seconds cbr 600 3 seconds so I honestly don't know where Honda got there figures from
