I am about to return and have already paid £180 for the day 2 and day 8 tests. Have booked a Covid test at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital prior to my flight. 3800 baht for same day results. I have looked for a test to take part in the test and release scheme (test on day 5 and quarantine ended as soon as you get a negative result) but no participating clinics in my area which would have meant doing the process by mail and wouldn't have had my results until a couple of days before I was due to leave quarantine anyway. Would have been iro £130. OK if you live in the SE.
interesting, who are you flying with? for sure they will ask for a negative test on check in , but wouldnt imagine they will check for the the two pre booked quarantine tests, Did you get the two tests for 180 pounds for both or each..... outrageous if you are a British national?
Apparently some exceptions to the two test rule .. certain jobs and if you are returning to the Uk for urgent medical treatment, but arguing your case with a Thai check in girl may be a real problem.
Seems their are no direct flights at the moment.

Secondly they have a right to return to their home country, test or no test.
Regarding foreigners coming to Thailand, the country is applying much the same entry rules as just about every other country in the world is right now.
Entering the UK: Before you leave for the UK - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Brits have to have a negative covid test before boarding a flight home and if i have read the gov site correctly also they must book and pay for before flying two covid tests on their return on day 2 and day 8 of a 10 day self quarantine..... these test providers shown on the gov list have prices from 200 pounds for each of those two tests that you must have prebooked and paid for before flying.
Like to know if anyone has gone back to the Uk and had this rule enforced seems rather extreme for UK nationals returning to their own country?

Had on going bowel problems for 3 years plus which i hoped might be cured or eased by a recent inguinal hernia operation.
However as the problems have continued a Gi specialist suggested the possibility of diverticulitis or worse case cancer and recommended a CT colonoscopy at circa 18k.
I questioned why not a regular colonoscopy but apparently he thought that was risky and CT colonoscopy method was the best and would see most tumours polyps even though they couldnt be removed at the time.
This at a private hospital with a promotion price on regular colonoscopy 17k and CT colonoscopy 18k.
At times for anything serious that requires investigation and a lot of experience with so much lost in translation, its about finding the specialist with a highest level of English comprehension and experience in his field to get the correct diagnosis, other than in Bangkok this can be difficult.

Ok, must be a local member who can help out with the phone charger situation, but probably taken care of by now.
Hope he gets well treated and pleasantly distracted by some nursing eye candy!

Wish him a full recovery, is he in Bangkok or the Issan area?

Burma and Thailand have joined forces to share their wealth of knowledge on human rights and enforce strict monitoring of the internet to discourage the revolting peasants and nosey opinionated westerners ......so down time of this site could be a regular feature.

They should have a national Spank the Teachers Day;
Some of the directors and senior male teachers already have a mutual spanking arrangement with a few select students usually off premises......

What school was it? seems a very mild outburst of frustration.
Remember seeing a male teacher stand three M4 girls up on a table and then whack the <deleted> out of their legs with a cane......in full view of everyone, seemed it was standard practice for him.

Could be wrong but a few weeks back a couple of westerners wishing to return home also tested positive for covid on their mandatory pre flight check, believe they were long term Chonburi residents.
All a bit suprising because Thailand is of course virtually covid free apart from in Samut Sakhon.
Think westerners should be stopped from testing when they please because these positive tests do ruin the fantasy.

So the area with the highest density of covid is among the only area of any testing in depth as in the provinces surrounding Bangkok with the thousands of migrants working shoulder to shoulder with their Thai colleagues in the numerous factories.
The same Thai factory workers who will return en masse to the provinces nationwide to celebrate Songkran with their families especially if its given the go ahead.
Oh well, their will be a rush on paracetamol at the village 7/11s for the youngsters and bumper revenue for the monks at the temples for the cremations in the months to come for a few thousand more oldies dying of respiratory failure old age etc...... nothing to see here... no autopsy, no covid test.............just another day in paradise!

Maybe he does know something, just read in another online paper a quote from one of the boffs at Chulalongkorn University, that CCSA did not report 100 cases found in a factory or plant in Samut Sakhon recently, maybe because all interred in one place?
Par for the course and with the policy of incredibly minimal testing over the last year and it seems mass vaccination very slow to be rolled out .....Thailand is simply in denial of the real covid situation unless they have benefited from a miraculous virus waiver!

Ok I ask again maybe someone knows.
Ok you book a flight to return Uk which requires you to have a negative covid 19 test within 72hrs check in.
You go to Bangkok the day before and use the service covid test as mentioned in this thread.
Worst case scenario you are asymptomatic she emails you a positive test result!
What happens next are you tracked to and met at your hotel and dragged off to a Bangkok hospital without any choice to be incarcerated until negative at huge expense in a private hospital or could you get treated at a more reasonable priced option such a Chulanagorn university government hospital.
Maybe such information is highly classified?
-
If you have a flight booked to leave Thailand and return to your country and a negative test is required and you stopover in BKK the night before for this quick test and email certificate, ........what would happen if you were asymptomatic and the test came back as positive?
Would you find the police and medics at your hotel door waiting to immediately escort you to an expensive hospital of their choice or a migrant worker field hospital or could you pick your own government hospital.
Are their any set procedures for this worst case scenario.

If they did legitimate enforcement of 1000+ baht fine with seizure of vehicles that were unlicensed or in arrears, they could solve this in 30 days and probable save a few lives.
Brilliant idea for the boys in brown, check points just past crossings and drivers fined on the spot a few hundred baht......easy end of month tea money collection and might, although unlikely educate a few dumb arrogant impatient halfwits behind the wheel.

Only if there is an accident the brakes don't work?? I think it is the speed and the stupidity of the driver which causes accidents instead of the brakes

You are entering a world of mental anguish and stress if you have been pushed to the point of needing to translate messages...............thai.girls can suck you in and spit you out .....walk away with some degree of sanity left while you still can.
If you do have masochistic tendencies try google translate and then spend the 1000 baht on a massage some beers and some vallium!
Good luck!

The sham military government realizes the peasants are revolting, although occasionally quite fragrant.
This speed limit increase is a natural cull along with the covid "no test no have policy" and should significantly lessen the numbers of insurgents.
-
Will be a military government decree soon stopping farangs testing at will and putting an end to these incidences of the reality of the virus being amongst us all.
Unless you believe in the fantasy that somehow Thailand received a miraculous Covid 19 waiver.

, and I have no idea where you’d get antibody tests done to see if you’ve had Covid in the past,
Went to my local lab here in Issan for cbc months back and enquired about covid test cost , couldnt do on site needed to go to a hospital, however this lab did offer an antibody test for 1000 baht.
Lab is part of the Thonburi labs group many branches and possibly one in Pattaya or nearby.

Indeed Pattaya is unique in its status as one huge knocking shop adult disneyland with rides for all tastes and budgets and various amenities to both service and rip off the clientele!
Never going to be a world class resort in the traditional sense ......thankfully!

Pattaya City, Mr Manoch said today the city hasn’t found a new COVID-19 patient for several days
Article on here yesterday two westerners resident in Chonburi for three years wanting to fly home out of Thailand failed a pre flight mandatory covid test.....both positive now in hospital.
Guess they lived an isolated life and got the virus from their Burmese maid and gardener.

Along with the daily its only the pesky migrant workers bulletins, perhaps just once they could publish the daily or weekly testing figures.
Such as how many tested nationwide each day/week and in what provinces and the positives percentage.
