Finding a wife in a hooker bar would be like buying a second hand car from a hire car company, thrashed by hundreds of people with worn out parts and dodgy wiring and too many miles on the clock.
Brilliant! a great analogy!.
Buying and running an ex rental with intergalactic mileage and expecting faultless reliable performance is pretty optimistic at best...... but does make for an exciting journey!

They are clueless, simply its incredibly difficult and expensive to plan a trip to Thailand ... hence no tourism!
Offering buy a tart and get two free style promotions wont change visitor levels.
Sometimes i think the daily TAT nonsense statements which this site always publishes are arranged to maintain readership clicks and advertising revenue .....
Thai visa should arrange a weekly competition among readers.
Send in your own spoof TAT statement.
The one with the most votes wins a month of Thai visa viewing totally free of adverts and pop ups.

I went through AA Insurance Brokers who got me cover for a pre-existing heart condition, with David Shield, it cost about an extra 1,500 baht per month on top of the policy, although I do believe you have to be under 64 to get in the door, so you might be better off making earlier enquiries as opposed to waiting it out as I know a lot of insurers won't touch pre-existing conditions and dump you when you hit a certain age
What kind of price range was the total policy monthly or yearly?

Most Thai bank ATM cards include accident insurance. I recently hit my head falling off a ladder on my property. I was unconcious and taken to Bangkok Hospital (Khon Kaen). I stayed in ICU one night and the bill was about 24,000 Baht (including scans etc). However, my SCB ATM paid for 18,000 Baht and my bill on discharge was 6,000 Baht.
Didnt know that, so my kasikorn bank atm debit card and the Krungsri atm card possibly have accident insurance cover.
Would be a delight to use Bangkok hospital Khon kaen and have the bank pick up the bill.
24k for a night in ICU with scans seems very cheap for this hospital.

Six Thai nationals among 10 new Covid-19 cases in quarantine
Whoops duplicated post, cant seem to delete it.

Depending where you live your cheapest option probably the local government hospital if they have a covid unit? at least if positive the incarceration and treatment will be cheaper than elsewhere.
My local lab wouldnt test for covid other than antibody test and suggested hospital only.
Has anyone had any experience of testing here at a hospital or clinic?

The covid 19 situation and the end of the tourist industry and the consequences are having a serious effect on the mental health of the various ministers..... they clearly need urgent help.

In case someones missed it their is covid 19 worldwide with international travel virtually at a standstill.
Why the continual reference to tourist figures high season low season etc ....as far as the international market goes there isnt any tourism to speak of.
What do they expect? .... a free pass get out of jail card just for Thailand so borders can be opened air travel resumed all because this would be high season if their wasnt covid and worldwide restrictions.
Endless articles and government TAT statements pointing out the blindingly obvious.

If the immigration officer has half a brain cell and some common decency?
On presentation of the paperwork and written medical confirmation by a Thai friend or yourself an extension should be issued and perhaps just a token overstay fine.
Truly hope it does work that way and your friend can put up a fight against his illness.
Good luck

Because.....
My two bobs worth from a similar thread yesterday.....
A simple method to keep the numbers down, only test returnees or those in quarantine.
Continue with the policy of no routine testing for those attending hospitals or clinics nationwide even though they have many of the symptoms.
Make routine testing for covid expensive and not widely available or encouraged and certainly do not test for covid with sickness and deaths which could otherwise be attributed to other causes in most age groups.

Thailand is doing a stellar job though progressive modern health policy. Even the WHO acknowledges that.Perhaps the daily testing figures and results from hospital and clinics nationwide is available online and maybe I have missed this information.
We have a daily statement of the positive covid tests from those in quarantine, but nothing regarding the daily testing of a percentage of the other 69.8 million.

If antibody tests were widely available and accurate I would have got one.
Went to my local lab a few days ago for a few routine tests and at the time enquired about availability of a Covid testing.
They did have a Covid antibody test available for 850 baht but couldnt do the here and now Covid test, that had to be done at an appointed hospital and only available if you had most of the classic symptoms.
The lab was part of the THONBURI lab group which is nationwide chain here in Thailand so antibody testing should now be within reach of most who want it.

Drivers working crazy long hours with not enough sleep or rest breaks because they need the pittance they are paid in bonuses.
Drivers not subject to enough routine health checks and freely allowed to take large amounts of sugar energy drinks and possibly other substances to stay awake.
Little or no tachograph style monitoring or comprehensive driver training or vetting.
What could possibly go wrong?
it was brake failure ....really! and theres no domestic Covid in Thailand and bears dont sh@t in the woods!

So out of the 20k a day tested nationwide its only returnees in quarantine who test positive, seems very odd if that 20k figure is accurate?

If you tested locally at the assigned government hospital in your own region and were positive are you automatically admitted and treated at their own covid unit or allowed to self quarantine at your own home?
Maybe someone knows the answer to the above question?
Thanks

Do you need a covid negative test prior to flying with EVA or others to the Uk.
If you tested locally at the assigned government hospital in your own region and were positive are you automatically admitted and treated at their own covid unit or allowed to self quarantine at your own home?

A filling should be 500 to 900 baht and extractions about the same, these are prices recently paid.
You could perhaps double the above at a very nice private hospital, but the price you paid and have been quoted seems very excessive.
If offered antibiotics afterwards at a private hospital you can often be charged five of six hundred baht for the same pills that you can buy yourself in the local pharmacy for 50/60 baht etc.

Perhaps Thai visa will partially shut down protest news feeds as well in their support of the greedy bar stewards pulling the strings.... but adverts ad nauseam will continue along with the daily release of flatulence from the generals masquerading as politicians who give a <deleted> about the people of this country.

Two foreigners test positive for Covid-19 in quarantine hotels
in Thailand News

Could you share your Thailand test experiences? did you have to go to a specific hospital with staff advising you that if positive you would be detained and treated in a special unit until testing negative? what were the costs?
Or where these tests in quarantine hotels coming back into Thailand from the Uk.?
