I guess if you do a trip to Laos the land border return entry will also require the proof of vaccination?

Yep went right through there site, does allow you to put dates in with LGW London destination but comes up no flights anytime in next few months.
What was the cheapest option seemingly is no more.
Even Finnair are showing one price then its extra 4k baht 100 pounds for a 20k bag plus seat reservation.

Anyone know what has happened to Scoot airs Bangkok to London Gatwick service, the route can no longer be booked on the scoot website for next three months and no official notice of cancellation of the service.
Both Bangkok contact numbers on the website not working.

Blackpool, 50 yards from the beach. Own room with toilet/shower, double bed, tv, kettle , etc The owner also changed 1 room to a small kitchen with microwave, fridge, coffee maker etc. Room cleaned and bed clothes changed once a week. Price was £90 a week double room, £75 for smaller room.
I'm not a fan of Blackpool, but I needed somewhere cheap so I could still fund the wife and kid during Covid, and the B and B was a life saver.
Thanks sounds ideal, like you im looking for something cheap and easy for a few months in the Uk, researching options prices have been horrendous.
If theres a way you could give me some clues as to the name of the place that would be brilliant and much appreciated .
Thanks

During the pandemic I stayed in a B and B, about £400 month, no bills, just buy your food, so you could live in the UK for about £700 a month easily. Not a great life but a liveable one.
To find a Uk guest house for 400 pounds a month is incredible, daily rates seem to be about 50 to 60 even for very basic places shared bathrooms etc.
Where was this place did you have your own room and bathroom or was that a dorm room?
Fantastic almost unbelievable price, great and useful to know which B and B if still a reality?
Thanks

For entry to Thailand you can enter with the vaccinations you have now.
For another country it might not be accepted.
Thanks was thinking of the Uk, I will check.
Would be good to know what is internationally considered an out of date covid vaccine history.

I had two Astra Zeneca shots in August and October of last year with a booster shot of Pfizer in January of this year.
Is this considered up to date vaccination for the purpose of international travel and return to Thailand, or do i need to add a further booster now?
Thanks

Sort of. You need to purchase a visa for the Laos side. You can get a visa-on-arrival (in which case, make sure you have a photo and US$40 as paying for the visa with baht costs a lot more) or, a bit more expensive, get a Lao e-visa. The Lao e-visa saves space in your passport, and (at Savannakhet) may be prudent if planning to cross early morning or in the evening. At Savannakhet, the visa-on-arrival desk is not always open at odd hours. I have always bought the visa-on-arrival, but there are certainly decent arguments for the e-visa.
There is no problem with an immediate return to Thailand. However, if you want a visa exempt entry, be aware that you can only get two of those per calendar year when entering by land.
Thanks so just the normal Laos visa on arrival or pre purchase obtains as pre covid.

Can you do a simple land border hop across to Laos and back with just a vaccine certificate and passport required to enter both countries?

Change here I would think, SuperRich fx 42.95 bht to the pound today.
Others might know, if you dont change your Thai baht to sterling cash and simply use a Thai debit card for purchases and ATM withdrawals back in the UK will the exchange rate be horrendous or just the current for example Kasikorn bank FX rate at the time.?

Traveloka pretty good easy booking site.
Direct options Thai airways complete price, or Scoot direct to gatwick with buying everything as an add on, luggage, food, a pilot etc....... but one free date change.
Avoiding middle east but a short 1 hour or so hop back to Uk from Europe, then KLM, Finnair, Swissair, Air France etc.
Quick flight to Singapore then direct to London both with Singapore airways easy night flight.

Rather than a new thread I,ll pop the question here, when leaving Thailand to fly to the Uk who dont require any tests for vaccine holders, are the airlines still asking for a pre flight pcr test on check in for departure in Thailand.?

A strip of 10 exactly as shown is 25 baht here in Issan, standard price without farang surcharge.

The disparity in the regulations is absurd, gogo bars are open but girls cannot dance on stage in a bikini because that would be an increased covid risk? yet hundreds to gather together in public is fine as long as they dont dance or wear bikinis..... the girls that is.
Lunatics running the asylum.

Covid has been endemic in Thailand for a few years with the initial help of the Chinese.
However the goons no test no have policy and figure fudging has presented a ludicrous facade and with astonishing xenophobia they continue to portray a handful of fully vaccinated and tested tourists as more of a Covid threat than the local population.
Absolutely deluded.

I do want not find out I'm positive upon arrival and face quarantine. That's what they are doing in the Philippines.
Absolutely right, a pre departure test allows you to get treated and quarantine in your home country, on arrival tests that are positive open a world of uncertainty about treatment incarceration and huge financial burden if the insurance doesnt pay.
Of course it does stop the coffers of the private hospitals being topped up which would meet some opposition.

Any idea who you report corrupt immigration officials to ?
When you find out, have a word about Thai ladies offering their services, quite appalling, I was assured prostitution is illegal in Thailand.

If they really were concerned, why not rapid test everyone who rides the BTS/MRT before everyday
Exactly but the positives from such tests wouldnt result in ten day private hospital stays and 100k into the coffers of the select few........ so its never going to happen, unless they only tested the westerners riding the Bts.

Utter boll@x, can check out after day one but check in again for a day five test.
Total Xenophobia! if you tested a thousand Thais visiting your local 7/11 their would be more positive covid cases than from a thousand fully vaccinated and tested tourist arrivals who are at huge risk of catching the virus from the locals.

Bangkok Bank Inactive Account Closure

My Krungsri account was about 10 months when it was deactivated, any transaction in that time just paying in a couple of hundred baht would have kept it live and saved an awful lot of faffing about at a branch 22 copies of everything and payment to get a new card and activate the account.
Lesson learned, today just transferred token amount from my main account to keep it active, could you do similar online transfer from the Uk or have a friend in Thailand who can pay any amount in to the account which will keep it active.
