Phuket expects 100k per month and Pattaya 50k, with Hua Hin also aiming for 25k and now Cha am weighs in at 1k ,,,,,, not going to be a lot of change from the 976 actual monthly arrivals.

Miniscule testing, ineffective vaccines for much of the population, dubious reporting, Covid far from declining is absolutely rampant across the nation.
Dick heads solution is open the country up for one almighty free for all!
Let the hunger games begin !!
If Covid carnage ensues it will be blamed on the
millionshundreds of arriving tourists. -

My local province Khonkaen is getting ready with a week of the highest ever Covid figures., last year mainly single digits daily, now the province has recorded a high of 300+ in a day and in the city area alone between 100 to 200 a day .
So open all the bars and hotels welcome those thousands of tourists to the Thailand COVID winter wonderland let the festivities begin its the Thai way!.

With the khaosan road university department being closed for a while it could makes it more difficult.

and the detail left out is that most of these got infected locally in Phuket - they did not arrive with covid, they really are good at twisting the truth and blame which is extremely unhelpful
Exactly covid is rampant among the only partially vaccinated and miniscule tested population, not amongst fully vaccinated and extensively tested tourists.
The locals dealing with tourists should face two weeks quarantine and extensive tests.
But Thailand steers away from and often ignores harsh reality......maybe why many of us came here in the first place.????

If you havent had the Covid experience yet come have a holiday in Thailand.
We try not to test the general population and ignore antigen test results anyway and give most of the peasants you will meet Sinovac, not effective against the current virus strains which will be available at most locations 24 hours a day ......but not alcohol!
The land of denial, delusion and endemic Covid complacency welcomes you!

Meanwhile this article a little nearer the truth and just imagine if their was extensive testing ,the reality would be harsh and further highlight the greedy idiots negligent disregard for the welfare of Thai people.
The Rural Doctors Society (RDS) has warned Thai people not to lower their guard, noting that COVID-19 infections in Thailand are not declining, as widely misunderstood. On the contrary, are increasing, averaging over 20,000 cases a day.

but all airlines require tests before boarding their planes. Some would accept atk's from hospital, clinic and fit to fly certificate
Is that right? if you are flying direct to the Uk say with Thai airways they will insist on negative Covid PCR and fit to fly certificate although neither mandatory for the UK Gov.

Utter Boll@x!
UK testing 1 million people per day versus Thailand"s 40,000.
So if the 40k a day tests in Thailand is correct and with todays figures combined of 20k positives thats a healthy 50% positive rate or 25% if you ignore antigens as is a current trend.
Yes come on down Brits no drinks and we shut at 9pm but COVID available everywhere 24 hrs from our willing population largely vaccinated with Sinovac mostly ineffective against the latest Delta variant.

Are their still some basic covid insurance policies for less than 2k that will get you 200ks worth of cover or more? They may no longer be available?
Could make it a condition of returning to on premises teacher instead of online that you are covered for covid treatment by the school or the agency you work for.

Although the junta would like us and the world media to believe otherwise the situation with covid is pretty atrocious in Thailand.
Rapid tests positive cases, 7,421 bringing the unofficial total to 18,051

khonkaen yesterday reported 250 cases in the province with 137 in the city the highest figures yet recorded in this area

but I think you are not quite correct when you say " no restrictions other than a lateral flow test on day 2 " cos that comes in at the end of October , please read attached link for your opinion
Yep your right they are holding a couple of weeks for the change to a lateral flow test antigen day 2
so at the moment if you fly in 5 days etc its a day 2 pcr.
The pack up and go return to a freezing cold Uk is stressful enough but this is a massive boost to be able to book a flight and go if you need to get out of here in a hurry.
Great news like the door is no longer locked ......

Utter garbage, reported numbers were low because of extremely miniscule testing and the ludicrous no test no have policy.
The entry door was shut long after the Chinese Covid 19 filly had bolted and run amok amongst the population
