Looking at the photo, and out of that make a fair judgement. Hmmm... must have been empty before, then. ????
There was just that 5 minute lull between peak customer turnouts, honest.

i hope to see them again in the flesh soon.
Enjoy it while it's there. Evidently it is going to become the new Miami and on par with Singapore and Dubai. I read it right here.

In January 2020 I went to Lanna Hospital for the Pacific Cross Insurance medical exam. I was 67 yo at that time. All the tests required, including X rays cost 5,919 baht. I qualified for the insurance with a couple of minor exclusions.

So true ! Assume they are all trying to kill you and you'll usually fair much better.
On the very, very infrequent occasions that I drive at night, I assume all the other drivers are drunk. During daylight I assume all other motorists are on the phone. It's worked well so far after 15 years.

... cat does well too, not so much appreciated if she brings them up the terrace as a present though.
(You could always spike their chow with some 5th grade yaba - in old military tradition, sort of - keeps them on the edge and makes for best perimeter watch ever, right up there with the Claymores ...)
Our cats are excellent with snakes, not sure how they would do with centipedes, never seen any corpses around, a few quite large live ones though.

There was a post on the forum once about a fellow cutting his own lawn. Apparently a neighbor complained that he was doing work that a Thai could do. I have been mowing my own lawn for more than a decade. Unfortunately none of my lazy neighbors has ever complained, I would be happy to pay them.

Go to a bar and order a shot of it and pour it in a tiny bottle.....or the small bottles at 7-11 as noted..
As someone who has cooked all my life vodka has literally no taste and usually burns off...cant see it affecting a recipe if you skip it altogether......
Wine on the other hand...a nice Cabernet in a beef stew...... ????
Go to a bar and order a shot of it and pour it in a tiny bottle.....Very practical solution, take a small container to a bar. Simple and easy as that.

9 hours ago, Catkiwi said:Many years ago I paid a qualified driving instructor to teach the Mrs. to drive. Local quiet roads, around the local golf course perimeter roads, and then graduating into the city. She then accompanied the Mrs. through a defensive driving course in Map Ta Put. They went together to the Rayong licensing dept. and Mrs. sat the theory and practical with flying colours. Has never (touch wood) had any incidents on the road and still driving incident free after 25 years. Although she has learnt ( not from me, honest) some fairly graphic expressions of derision to hurl at any fellow road users who have the stupidity to infringe on her road space. ????.
My advice, keep well away from trying to teach her and get the professional drivers in.
I tried to teach my wife to drive. Not for long. Sent her to a driving school. Now she has a license and we are still married, which seemed to be an unlikely outcome when I was teaching her.

I fail to see how having a beer with a meal raises the risk of Covid transmission. Sitting in a large group drinking for hours could be problematic I suppose. Perhaps a limit of two drinks with a meal would be a reasonable solution.

I'm Canadian as well, but I don't know the rules as well as Ubon Joe. I can tell you that if you have regular income that you can prove at a Canadian consulate, they will issue you a proof of income letter. Take that to immigration you won't have to worry about further proof for an O/A, bank statements in Thailand etc. I have no idea about your dependents though. I'm in Chiang Mai, been here for over 15 years. Good luck

I like Prachuap a lot, my wife and I used to go every year. I'm 18 years older than her but a lot more willing to leave the house and go for a little adventure. I sometimes wonder if building a home was a mistake, trying to get her to go out is not easy.

The director-general, nonetheless, acknowledged that there is a risk that the US will increase its dependence on domestically made goods and move away from tax based measures
Every country should attempt to develop local commerce. I would prefer to have a shoe repaired by a local artisan than throw it away and replace it at Walmart.

Yes, quarantine hotels.

I think the only way cases could spread in Chiang Mai would be if Panda delivery drivers were spreading it. Nobody on the roads, in the malls, restaurants or gyms. Seriously I can't see how a lot of people are surviving.

The majority of flights within Thailand are one hour or less. Most come or go from Don Muang or Suvarnabhumi.
I'd suggest if someone cannot survive for one hour without food and/or drink, they have a serious health issue.
My thoughts exactly, longest domestic flight I've taken in Thailand; Chiang Mai to Koh Samui. Duration, I think 80 minutes.

If I have to pay for the Thai travel agency, the plane ticket, the covid tests, the expensive hotel/prison, and insurance I am not sure how that is a tempting holiday.
I agree, when I go on vacation I stay where I want and I leave when I want.
