  1. Yes, of course, if passing a parked vehicle, it would be. The point of impact damage to the pick-up and the road position suggests the motorcyclist was also on the wrong side. I doubt that neither were going particularly fast nor that the poor old boy was wearing a helmet.
  2. Probably not...as in my limited experience, it would take so long to unwrap that Mars Bar ( let alone assault it), that it would be time to roll again ????
  3. My guess....they were both overtaking a parked pick-up without being aware of each other's presence, but the poor old boy was on the wrong side of the road.
  4. Yep they can be amusingly very inventive when saving face after being caught out !
  5. If only they'd invited a dopey foreigner, no drama him pay.
  6. Friend's wife confused the hell out of everyone when she proclaimed " him hab Ann Summers". Took a while to deduce that she'd heard the word Alzheimer's somewhere......!
  7. Or, if Thai, just keep the local police on-side and no-one will complain.
  8. Was it "buy one pair - get one free" in the gym shoes dept at your local mall ? And, more to the point, what's my mother on law doing there "
  9. Which "numbers" exactly ? Personally. I don't believe they had any possible way of correlating the figures of arrivals under the scheme with those that actually undertook the 2nd test or not.
  10. Measures aimed simply both at pacifying their xenophobia and partially appeasing the tourism industry. Half-ar&ed at best.
  11. I'm not advocating dis-obedience ! My contention being: how exactly is it going to be discovered ? I ask this, as a friend who very recently arrived under the scheme, said that, when asked, his BKK hotel had" no idea whatsoever " about what he should to about this 2nd test. Personally I think Test & Go is a dead duck simply because it's realised now that it just can't be implemented as intended. Whether they honour existing approvals is likely more dependent on whether or not they consider the number too large to accept, given the obvious monitoring faults with it.
  12. Seems to be a "conscience" issue....rather like an "honesty" box on a golf course. Don't take the test and there's seemingly no follow up or accountability. Take it. and if it's unfortunately positive. it opens up a can of worms for all concerned as in the Koh Chang saga.
  13. End of T & G but open sandboxes on the mainland ? The only difference being that it should be viable to trace Sandbox people after the 5 day test, which through short-sightedness/incompetence, they seem otherwise unable to do with any degree of confidence. However there will be no restrictions on anyone else entering or leaving the Sandbox (ie Krabi Province) and mixing with the Sand-baggers. potentially trading viruses.
  14. Long haul tourists won't notice the increase in air fare. Budget airlines and their passengers within the Asean Region will certainly be affected, Article states all international arrivals, but how (or will) it apply to land or sea arrivals ?
  15. Why is his face blurred out here, making him look aggressive, yet not in the linked "full story" . He looks like a decent chap in that one !
  16. You are aware though, that you should probably wear a mask. aren't you ?????
  17. His wife told him to find a way to make their money go further.
  18. The same mentality in action when pulling out in front of you, when there's nothing behind you for 5 kms. Can't wait or don't think...or both.
  19. Whenever I'm asked what I think is the most dangerous place to be in Thailand, that is always my reply !
  20. Poverty certainly in some cases. The family living opposite me, however, have 2 cars and 2 young children and yet choose to take them to school on a motorbike. This involves a U- turn on a 4 lane highway also. I don't like to see it, but as the wife says "up to them".
  21. Police are now actively looking for the motorcyclist to charge him with a traffic offence.
