  1. Was that info dated, or is it something that's been there awhile and you just saw it, making it new?

New to me. I never considered leaving for anything other than a visa. I'd never admit it for me, but finding a place to live until death without having to do the visas is appealing to a lot of people I know. Not realistic, but I see their point.

  2. Thanks, Terry. I am hoping it is just a survey form they need. If not, likely I need a full review which is a pain and may require travel to USA. I'm just glad that instead of cutting me off, they gave me SSI. I'll post the actual reason once I know more. Does the Manila office answer in email or do I have to call?

  3. Hi, all. I have used <snip> pharmacy at Sukhumvit 15 for a long while now and always had good medicines with a great stock of everything I need. Today, however, they charged me B3,100 for Arimidex and I just found out it is FAKE as Global Anabolics never used this label. Add to that GLobal Anabolics changed their Web site URL which is stamped on the product label and foil cover. That change was in October 2009, and their Web site states clearly that ANY product with the old URL is FAKE. I'm angry and wondering what to do... maybe I will stop using them.

I also need cabergoline (Dostines) which they did not have and was not in the pharmacy book. Has anyone found a place to purchase this medicine? Feel free to email me here or post reply.

    Thanks!

  4. Hi, all. I was not sure which forum to use so for now I will put it here. My SSDI is direct deposited. Since I get it on the 3rd, it came on the 2nd since 3rd is weekend. However, it is always deposited stating SSDisability, but this time it says SSI and was nearly $400 short of my normal award.

Has anyone else ever run in to this? I am wondering if they mailed me a survey or something, but as you know we can't use the Web site. Anything to calm my fears solicited... I will be calling them late Monday night, I think.

  5. Hey, that was brilliant and fast response. I think I understand now. I do not plan to leave Thailand for anything more than a border run, and am here sometimes on 15-day no-cost visa from border run and sometimes on dual entry tourist visa. It sounds like instead of a TV run for dual entry, I should file for an Non-imm O visa. Is that correct or can I simply get a year by showing marriage and income?

  6. Hi, gang. From what I have read on here, a so-called, "Marriage Visa," is a non-imigrant Type-O visa permitting one year of stay with mandatory 90-day reporting. I am not old enough for a retirement visa or I would go that route.

Has anyone put together a FAQ on obtaining a Type-O visa based on marriage. I'm looking for something very clear cut as steps, forms, and papers needed that is not included with other "visa types" and does not include running dialog. I think this would help a lot of people.

    Thanks Much,

  7. Poor logic. If not facebook, it would be other sites. Have to pin the blame on places? Let's be real... if they are posting salacious descriptions and pics, it is the people, not the host, that are causing their own "downfall". Personally, I like to see young WOMEN (not girls) having babies. Having babies drives the core of the economy - you must build schools, feed them, take them places, health care, housing, etc.

  8. Believe you can obtain an emergency passport to allow travel home from embassy with police report of loss. It would take at least two weeks to obtain a new regular passport and it appears you will be overstay if you do that. I do not believe immigration makes exceptions for passport loss as you have the option to leave without a wait so it would mean 500 baht per day overstay in that case but check with Embassy.

    Thx, Lop. Will do!

  9. Hi, all. I lost my passport (USA) in the klong. I think I have read enough posts to know how to get a new one here in BKK. I am on the extension of last usage of dual entry visa and need to get a new visa on 18 Feb, if I remember correctly.

So, I get a new passport, but how do I get a visa when there is no proof of visa? Any chance I will have bought more time by getting new passport, or am I screwed?

    Thx,

    - J
