If you get a Bangkok Airways resident discount card, one way flights to BKK are 2750, which is very reasonabale. So ignore the grumpy old sods who say its expensive transport.
Samui is a fabulous place to live, for all ages.

They're young blokes Robin. I remember some of the stupid things that I did when I was young, I was banned from driving 3 times, which may have saved my life. These kids aren't going to question the safety of all piling into the pickup, it's the job of those responsible for the transport to keep them safe.
Most of the time they have no choice. If you want the job, you get in the back of the pickup.

I did find two places that sold them.
1 by the traffic lights at fisherman's village. Driving from Chaweng to Maenam - immediately before the lights on the left. Have to park on the pavement.
2 was between the lights and Maenam Post Office (I think). On the other side of the road.
They elephant one at 1 looked drunk and the one at 2 was too heavy to move. You haver to move them as the sun is not in the same place in the sky all day. ????
Both shops had other designs, but for personal reasons I want an elephant one.
I will head to Nathon and further afield when I have some free time. Still lots of guests here.
Thanks for the info.
Did you notice the prices? -

There is a place I always use, opposite the junction at Bandon Hospital and the Mookata. Nice lady, speaks good enough English to communicate wtih most.

KPG, no.
I would advise a jolly over to Samui and take it to Central Dept. Store to the watch department there. However be prepared for them probably wanting to send it off, rather than deal with it themselves (just an opinion).

Thank you khunPer.
I will go for a little scoot around when I have a moment. I do not head in that direction very often and when I do I am too busy watching the damm traffic.
evo, did you find one of these? I am looking to replace mine also.

Way 2, a new nightclub
In Chaweng Beach's Green Mango-area a new night club named "Way 2" will open next Saturday. It's built in the parking lot behind former Black Club. The manager in Green Mango Club told me that they seems to be aiming on the same Thai-audience as former Black, with an indoor airconditioned venue.
Still under construction view from outside...
Bar installation and light check last night about 2 am...
This place opened a few nights ago. Aimed at the Thai audience.

It should get a bit more quiet a few days after the Full Moon Party, which is on 07/03.

Residence certs have been free in Samui for the last 3 or 4 months. Prior to that there was a 500 baht charge.
The last time I got one was about 2 weeks ago, free of charge.- 1

191 police and excise officials. Really? Do they think that was quite enough? Why not go for a round 200?

And they are reducing the number of Sailings.
I am told that this is in response to the governor telling them NOT to increase prices.
it sounds like a bit of a mexican standoff to me

Hi, may I ask how much is a click? I paid mine 3000 for 1 month but I was in a hurry so couldn't compare.
I think it's maybe a bit expensive as a 2nd hand click worths 12000 or so...
If I remember well 2 years ago it was 4000 for a pcx, but not sure.
Thanks!
Anything from 2500-3500/month, or 200-350/day for a nice Click 125cc.
The costs of all vehicles, both brand new and 2nd hand has gone up massively in recent times.
Go to Honda and try to find one brand new. You will be told to come back in 4-6 months. This is turn has affected teh 2nd hand market. Most people are asking almost new price for 2 to 4 year old bikes.
You will not find a click worht driving for 12,000 baht, I can assure you.
Ive seen various of your posts. You really need to stop comparing 2 years ago to now. The world is a different place, and so in Samui/Thailand. Inflation is real.

Ive left mine parked at the Seatran terminal for 2 or 3 days many times when on visa runs in the past, and also right outside the old Seatran ticket office on the pier, and its always been fine. But for a week, who knows?
I'd advice a chain and padlock, or a proper bike lock. Then if someone really want to take a bike, they will just take the next one, as its a lot easier.

Direct flights with Cambodia Airways - Koh Samui/Phnom Penh started this month.
Let's hope that it is a success. Useful for a short break away now and again.
5500+ each way, so I cant see it being that successful.

The best place to look is in Facebook marketplace. Also various local Samui Facebook groups. You will find an endless list of properties for rent there.
