does anyone know what are the consequences of taking a positive test, as a farang? do they force us into hospital at stupid rates?

Yes, and what happens if tested asymptomatic positive, expensive hospital costs for two weeks..?
this is the biggest issue
I'm absoluely fine, but if I was mildly sick, no way would I go for a test, which would result in me being shipped off the surat thani hospital for 2 expensive weeks of R&R when I can choose to just self isolate at home in my own bed and on my own sofa for free.

Can I please ask if you are in the >60 or <60 age bracket?
I ask because originally they were only giving AZ to 60+.

Is anything other than Sinovac available to us under 60s yet?

I was shopping on Central at 11.30am on Thursday last week. my gf and I were the only customers inside the Central Department Store, and I think we saw only 2 other customers in the entire mall.

No problems anywhere.
At the ferry terminal - just scan the QR code. They did not even take temperatures.
At the airport, last night, we had to scan the QR code, fill in the form to say where we had come from, then we tald to self isolate at home for 14 days if we came from a red zone. We were also told to monitor ourselves for symptoms, and given a form to fill in ever day, and send to a Bophut Health LINE account.

I'd appreciate if someone can help me understand my situation:
- I live in Samui
- I have a work permit, showing my address- I left samui on 13/4, and have since been in Sisaket (orange), with a 3 day visit to Buriram (also orange).
- I shall be returning to Samui this coming weekend.- I shall be travelling from Ubon airport (also orange), via Suvarnabhum, to Samui airport
Do I need any documents to travel? And if so, what?
And will I have to home quarantine for 14 days? Thanks in advance
Ian

They have absolutely no idea as to how many people live on Koh Samui. None at all.

I lived with Thai lady who was a nymphomaniac, she used to say ........
"I want sex, a lot of sex, at least 5 orgasms a day, and if guys want to give me money for something I would do anyway ..... why not?"
She was a great girl, if a bit exhausting.
Care to PM her number to me ????????

I have just travelled from Samui to KPN for a few days R & R. I departed from the Lomprayah pier in Maenam (Pralerm pier) to Thong Sala.
Yes, it is the Lomprayah ferry company but they are using the Lomlahkkhirrin speedboats and not the larger, smoother catamarans.
This morning's boat was overcrowded - at least 4 - 6 people sitting on plastic stools. Not very comfy.
If you want a proper seat and life vest - please book.
No questions about zones or whatever. Just a bit of a queue when you disembark at KPN as the temperature check is a thermal body scan.
30 mins travel time?

I know quite a few Thais and farangs here in Samui sucked in...some have lost fair bit of money. A bank employee was telling that the branch was quite busy with people printing statements for the police.
I lost some also, hence my interest in the thread.
-
realistically, is there anything that the police can do here?

Some of these may not actually be teachers but rather fifth -year university students training to be teachers during their one-year internships.

Any sign of restaurants etc. opening up along Chaweng Beach toad? I'll be arriving Wednesday.
Chaweng beach road is completely dead. Plenty of restaurants open in other parts of chaweng, and other parts of the island.

Koh Samui is in critical condition. I know. I live there and rely on tourists for my business also.

I know a guy who has a large motorbike rental shop. In Lamai. I think he has some cars too. Really decent guy. No games. No BS. It was a pleasure dealing with him, on a recent trip there. His name is Matteo. I believe it is Vasanna Rentals. Number is 092-4471605. Enjoy. Samui is very quiet now, and alot cheaper than before.
I think Matteo has bikes only, but give him a try.
Otherwise, send me a message, I also have a bike and car rental company.
You can whatsapp me on +66890546271- 1
