Mohammed Ben Sulayem, president of Formula 1's governing body, allegedly told officials not to certify the Las Vegas circuit for its race last year. The claim is from the same whistleblower who accused Ben Sulayem of allegedly telling officials to overturn a penalty to Fernando Alonso in Saudi Arabia last year. The whistleblower says they were told "on behest of the FIA president" to find a way not to pass the circuit safe for racing. The claim is in a report by the FIA's compliance officer to its ethics committee. BBC Sport has seen the report. A FIA spokesperson said: "From a sporting and safety perspective, the Las Vegas circuit approval followed FIA protocol in terms of inspection and certification. "If you recall, there was a delay in the track being made available for inspection due to ongoing local organiser construction works." The report quotes the whistleblower saying they were contacted by their manager, "who on behest of the FIA president instructed him to find some concerns to prevent the FIA from certifying the circuit before the weekend of the race". The compliance report quotes the whistleblower as saying that "the purpose was to find fault with the track in order to withhold the licence". It adds: "Asked to be more specific, [the whistleblower] said that issues on the circuit were meant to be artificially identified regardless of their actual existence, with the ultimate goal of withholding the licence." The whistleblower said they tasked an official with performing this task, and named two further officials who were in the room at the time. BBC Sport is not identifying the people named in the report. READ MORE

Book smart, reading and retaining knowledge doesnt make you a "nice" person in the process. It simply means you can retain knowledge. Life experience or "street smart" is another form of intelligence. People think that because they speak the same language they are understood, which is not always true, how people perceive what you have said may not be your intent, you cant know what their perception is going to to be hence we get misunderstandings or "taken the wrong way".To say nothing of IQ level that they have clue what your on about, people assume they do. As Forrest said " life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what you gonna get" and thats true of people until you start interacting with them and figure them out.

No, but the female Doctor claims he did, he admitted to "slipping" ? yeah right. The dialogue, attitude and tone says it all. I believe you are trolling deliberately being controversial by showing support for someone whose actions were clearly way out of line. This topic is closed. UPDATE. Visa REVOKED !

Alessia Russo scored the only goal of the game as Arsenal overcame local rivals Tottenham in front of a sellout crowd at Emirates Stadium. The England striker smashed the ball home from close range early in the second half after Kim Little and Beth Mead combined to create the chance. Victory keeps Arsenal firmly in the Women's Super League title race, three points behind leaders Manchester City. Tottenham stay sixth as their winless run extends to four games. The official attendance of 60,050 is the second-highest in WSL history, just short of the record 60,160 at the Emirates for Arsenal's win over Manchester United in February. Jonas Eidevall's side dominated throughout but after Russo stabbed just wide from a corner early on, they struggled to create any chances of note in the first half. Spurs defended deep, giving the hosts no space to play around the penalty area, and provided a threat on the break. It was Jessica Naz - who started ahead of club captain Beth England - who came closest to opening the scoring when her shot was tipped on to the crossbar by Arsenal goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger. Arsenal started quickly again in the second half and this time they did find the breakthrough. Little lifted a lovely diagonal ball from the corner of the penalty area to Mead, whose control was superb before she fought through the challenge of Amanda Nilden to tee up Russo. The former Manchester United forward duly thumped the ball into an unguarded net from six yards out for her sixth league goal of the season. Arsenal continued to control the game but a second goal was not forthcoming and despite Spurs showing a little more as an attacking force late on, Russo's goal was enough to secure a seventh straight home win for the Gunners - the first time they have managed that in a single WSL season. Arsenal made to work but title hopes remain This was a long way from a vintage Arsenal performance but, ultimately, they got the job done. Putting on a show for a bumper crowd in north London would have been nice but given such a quick turnaround for those players who had been away on international duty, that was always going to be a tough ask. It was made even harder by a stubborn and well-drilled Tottenham side, who came to frustrate their hosts, doing so for much of the game, and showed enough on the break to keep Arsenal's defence on their toes. Arsenal were guilty of trying to be too intricate at times in the first 45 minutes given how congested the penalty area was, often turning down the chance to shoot in favour of another pass to try to create a better opportunity that, time and again, did not arrive. There were a change of tack almost immediately after the interval with Katie McCabe trying her luck from distance, giving Tottenham's defenders something else to think about. Two minutes later, Arsenal were in front as they found space in the 18-yard box for the only time in the match thanks firstly to Little's pass then Mead's touch and determination to force the ball across goal for Russo as Nilden challenged her from behind. Chances remained hard to come by after the goal but Arsenal had done enough. READ MORE

First Test, Wellington (result) Australia 383 (Green 174*; Southee 5-70) & 164 (Lyon 41, Phillips 5-45) New Zealand 179 (Phillips 71; Lyon 4-43) & 196 (Ravindra 59, Lyon 6-65) Australia win by 172 runs Scorecard Spinner Nathan Lyon took six for 65 as Australia wrapped up a 172-run win over New Zealand in the first Test in Wellington. The hosts were dismissed for 196 before lunch on day four as Australia went 1-0 up in the two-match series. New Zealand had started the day on 111-3 chasing a victory target of 369. Lyon, 36, dismissed Rachin Ravindra, Tom Blundell and Glenn Phillips inside the first hour to set the tone as he claimed a 24th Test five-wicket haul. Daryl Mitchell and Scott Kuggeleijn offered some resistance with a 36-run partnership for the Black Caps' seventh wicket but all-rounder Cameron Green, whose 174 not out in the first innings was instrumental to Australia's success, dismissed the latter for 26. Mitchell batted on despite taking a blow to the helmet from a Green delivery and was the last man out for 38, while captain Tim Southee was Lyon's sixth victim - and the off-spinner's 10th in the match. The defeat leaves the Black Caps with only one win in 24 Tests against their nearest neighbours this century. The second match in the series starts in Christchurch on Friday. Australia captain Pat Cummins praised Lyon and player of the match Green for their performances. "Cam was amazing, he was really the difference in the end," he said. "I thought the way he went about it, with that intent, really put the pressure back on the bowlers on day one. "There was as much bounce as I've seen in any wicket for a long time but thankfully it spun which, with Nathan in our side, is always a pretty good thing." New Zealand pace bowler Will O'Rourke is a doubt for the second Test after leaving the field with a tight hamstring on day three with Southee not ruling out an instant recall for veteran pace bowler Neil Wagner, who retired last week. LeBron James became the first NBA player to reach 40,000 career regular-season points in Saturday's game against the Denver Nuggets. But he described it as "bittersweet" after his Los Angeles Lakers side lost 124-114 to the defending NBA champions. "Being the first player to do something, it's pretty cool in this league," said the 39-year-old, who scored 26 points on the night. "You just know the history, you know the greats that have come through." James scored the historic basket with 10 minutes and 39 seconds remaining in the second quarter with a driving lay-up from the left side of the basket to give the Lakers a 37-32 lead. The crowd gave James a standing ovation during a timeout and the ball he used to reach the milestone was removed from the game. However, the Nuggets stretched their winning streak to six games thanks to 35 points from Nikola Jokic to leave James with mixed feelings. "The main thing is always the main thing and that's the win," he said. "And I hated that had to happen in a defeat especially versus a team that plays extremely well. "We played some good basketball but weren't able to close it out, so [it's] bittersweet, but I enjoyed every moment on the floor." READ MORE

Manager Brendan Rodgers lamented "really, really poor officiating" as Celtic fell to a controversial defeat at Hearts to complete a weekend of shocks in the Scottish title race. The 2-0 loss prevented champions Celtic reclaiming top spot from Rangers, who stay two points clear after being stunned by Motherwell on Saturday. The top two each have nine league games left. Rodgers claimed "the game was refereed outside the field today" after video assistant referee (VAR) intervention led to Yang Hyun-jun's yellow being upgraded to a red card and Tomoki Iwata conceding a penalty for Hearts' opener. John Beaton was the VAR in Edinburgh, with referee Don Robertson ultimately making the final decisions. Yang was penalised for a high foot on Alex Cochrane and Iwata was judged to have used his arm, with Jorge Grant netting from the spot. Celtic themselves were awarded a penalty at 0-0, with Adam Idah's effort saved by Zander Clark. Lawrence Shankland had a goal disallowed for offside, this time after a VAR check, but was not to be denied as he struck Hearts' second after the break.. "The first incident with the sending off - there's no force in that," Rodgers told BBC Scotland. "If you make a still [image], of course it gives you a different opinion but the reality was not that. The referee made a right decision of a yellow card. "That's a clear example of what people say VAR isn't. The game was refereed outside the field today. That means we get a sending off. "The second one is even worse. Tomoki gets a nudge, I don't know where his arm is supposed to go. The ball drops on to his arm. If that's the case, we should have had a penalty at Motherwell last week. "For John Beaton to say that is a penalty - wow. Really poor officiating in a big game for us." Hearts head coach Steven Naismith agreed with the red card but felt both penalties were "soft". And former Hearts player Allan Preston told BBC Sportsound: "VAR is not the problem, it's the people running it. Referees know the rules inside out, but they don't know the game." SUN 03 MAR 2024PREMIER LEAGUE Manchester City 3 Manchester United 1 Foden (56'minutes, 80'minutes), Haaland (90'+1minutes) FTHT 0-1 Rashford (8'minutes) Pep Guardiola hailed Phil Foden as the "best player in the Premier League right now" after his second-half double ensured Manchester City came from behind to beat Manchester United at Etihad Stadium. In a game packed with international stars, it was two local boys who provided the key moments. The visitors had led through Marcus Rashford's sensational eighth-minute strike from 30 yards. However, in a contest City dominated, Foden took centre stage. There was an element of controversy over his second-half equaliser. United boss Erik ten Hag was booked for arguing his side should have had a free-kick in the City half when Rashford went down under Kyle Walker's challenge. Contact was minimal and within seconds Foden had curled a superb shot past Andre Onana. Foden then burst away from a static Casemiro to score City's second from Julian Alvarez's return pass before Erling Haaland rounded off the scoring in stoppage time, after the Norwegian earlier missed an open goal from barely three yards. "It is the amount of games he is playing," Guardiola told Match of the Day about Foden. "He was always a talented player but now he is more mature and understands more the game, especially defensively. He can play middle, right, make moments and cut inside, play in the left, scoring from the left. "What can I say? He is the best player in the Premier League right now for the amount of things he does. Unbelievable." How Foden became Guardiola's 'go-to man' It was City's sixth win in seven meetings against United, who suffered their 11th Premier League defeat of the season. More importantly, the result means Pep Guardiola's side move to within a point of leaders Liverpool before next week's trip to Anfield. United remain in sixth in the table but are now 11 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa and six behind Tottenham, in what could turn out to be a fifth Champions League spot, having played a game more. World Athletics Indoor Championships 2024 Dates: 1-3 March Venue: Emirates Arena, Glasgow Coverage: Watch live on BBC TV, BBC iPlayer and online; Listen to commentary on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra & BBC Sounds; Live text and video highlights on the BBC Sport website and app. Great Britain's Jemma Reekie continued her bid to win a first global medal by qualifying fastest for the women's 800m final at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow. Scot Reekie, 25, judged her effort to perfection to win her semi-final in one minute 58.28 seconds and build further confidence before Sunday's medal race. "The final will be very tough but I want [the other athletes] to know that if they are coming to win on my track, they are going to have to work hard!" Reekie told BBC Sport. "We have taken each race as it comes. Tonight I will sit down with [my coaches] Jon [Bigg] and Sally [Gunnell] and we'll work it out together. "But I think it will be a fast one." In winning her semi-final, Reekie, who finished fifth at last summer's outdoor World Championships, got the better of two of her expected medal rivals to assert herself as one of the favourites for gold. The home favourite cruised past Ethiopia's world leader Habitam Alemu in the closing stages, with 2022 world indoor bronze medallist Halimah Nakaayi finishing third. Elsewhere during Saturday's morning session, Amy Hunt finished fifth in her women's 60m heat in 7.29 secs as she continued her comeback from a long-term injury, missing out on a place in the next round. In Saturday's eagerly anticipated evening session, Great Britain's Josh Kerr won 3,000m gold before team-mate Molly Caudery clinched the pole vault title. British captain Laviai Nielsen finished fourth in the women's 400m final, while Laura Muir placed fifth in the women's 3,000m. READ MORE

Red Bull's Max Verstappen sent out a chilling message to his Formula 1 rivals with a crushing victory in the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix. He brushed off controversy surrounding his team principal Christian Horner to dominate after a brief challenge at the start from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. Verstappen led team-mate Sergio Perez home ahead of Ferrari's Carlos Sainz. Leclerc recovered from dropping to fifth early on to pass Mercedes' George Russell for fourth in the closing laps. The weekend in Bahrain had been dominated by Horner, who has been at the centre of a complaint of inappropriate behaviour from a female colleague for the last month. On Wednesday, the day before the on-track action started, Red Bull's head office announced that the grievance had been dismissed. An email containing a cache of messages purporting to involve Horner was sent to Formula 1 personnel and media less than 24 hours later. After qualifying, Verstappen was asked twice whether he had full confidence in Horner as Red Bull team principal, and both times declined to give a definitive reply. Horner's wife, the former Spice Girl Horner, flew into Bahrain for the race, as the pair made what appeared to be a studied and calculated appearance for the cameras. Red Bull's main shareholder, the Thai businessman Chalerm Yoovidhya, also flew in for the race to offer public support for Horner. Yoovidhya declined to answer BBC Sport's questions before the race. Horner was asked before the grand prix by BBC 5 live pit-lane reporter Rosanna Tennant whether the messages were genuine and replied that he "couldn't comment on messages from an anonymous sender". Goals from Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento helped Newcastle overcome Wolves and register their first home win in the Premier League since mid-December. Sweden international Isak nodded in at the end of a sweeping counter-attack involving Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes, whose left-footed shot deflected off Craig Dawson and into the striker's path. Eddie Howe's team doubled their advantage when Jose Sa and Max Kilman failed to deal with Jacob Murphy's low cross and Gordon pounced on the loose ball to fire home. Wolves had the lion's share of possession at St James' Park but failed to test Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka until midway through the second half, when half-time substitute Nathan Fraser's low shot from the edge of the box was palmed clear. Dubravka produced a superb stop to deny Pablo Sarabia moments later, but Livramento struck his first Newcastle goal in stoppage time to put the seal on the Magpies' first home victory since their 3-0 win over Fulham on 16 December. The win lifted Newcastle up to eighth in the table, while Wolves dropped to 10th. How did you rate Newcastle's performance? Have your say here What did you make of Wolves' display? Tomas Soucek struck a stylish half-volley as West Ham scored twice in injury time to clinch a dramatic win at Everton. The Blues had taken the lead when Beto - who had seen a first-half penalty saved - headed in at the back post shortly after half-time. Kurt Zouma equalised for the Hammers with a header from a corner. The game looked set to end in a draw but Soucek scored a stunning goal with his instep in added time before Edson Alvarez struck right at the end. It gave David Moyes, who managed Everton from 2002 to 2013, a hat-trick of Goodison Park victories over his old club as Hammers boss. Everton xG 'through the roof' but Dyche frustrated Moyes' side move up to seventh in the the Premier League table while Everton are 16th - five points above the relegation zone. The Toffees are also winless in 10 games, stretching back to a 2-0 victory over Burnley on 16 December. With five draws and two defeats in 2024, this is their joint-longest winless run from the start of a calendar year in their league history. Beto miss costly as Blues pay for lack of cutting edge This was Everton's first game since their 10-point deduction for breaching Premier League financial rules was reduced to six on appeal. However, there remains a degree of anxiety around a separate charge - along with Nottingham Forest - for alleged breaches in their accounts for 2022-23. That case must be heard by 8 April - but any appeal could take that process to 24 May, the week after the season has concluded. If Everton are to render the impact of another potential deduction irrelevant, in terms of maintaining their top-flight status, they simply need to become more clinical in front of goal as the business end of the season looms. Manager Pep Guardiola says Manchester City must not be distracted by emotions in Sunday's derby against Manchester United at Etihad Stadium. City, who won 3-0 at Old Trafford in October, are second in the Premier League, four places above United. City are unbeaten in 18 games and United have lost only once this year. "What I learn from my experience in these types of games is to be more calm, relax, don't talk about many things," Guardiola said. "Just focus on tactics and what you have to do to beat them, not about emotions - because emotions will be there, without doubt." League leaders Liverpool's dramatic 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday moved them four points clear of City, who travel to Anfield on 10 March. Premier League run-in: Will Liverpool, Man City or Arsenal come out on top? This is the first Manchester derby since Sir Jim Ratcliffe became co-owner of United. He has said he wants to knock City "off their perch" within three years and described their 4-0 win over Real Madrid in last season's Champions League semi-final as "the best football I've seen". City manager Pep Guardiola said it is a "complete honour" to receive praise from Ratcliffe. "I just say 'thank you so much'," Guardiola said. "Sometimes they are more than the titles, the compliments of the personalities that make this country, like Sir Jim Ratcliffe's comments. It is a complete honour for us. "One can produce emotions and feelings for the players and our rivals. That helps to do our job. Thank you so much on behalf of all of us." Ratcliffe wants Old Trafford to be 'national stadium for the north' City have won five of the past six Premier League titles, while United's most recent came in 2013. Last year City matched their rivals' feat from 1998-99 by winning the Treble. "The 80s was Liverpool, 90s United and now we have won seven Premier Leagues in the last 11 or 12 years," said Guardiola.
