  1. Show of power, by who and how many are there, face, and the envelopes.

Never knew half the people at my daughters wedding. The other aspect is you give one invitation, and they bring their entire family with them for a free meal and drink etc.

We had 150 more than were actually invited.

    Envelopes cleared the cost easily.

  3. Are you writing 'UK' on the address? Somebody once told me that UK is the code for the Ukraine. I'm not sure how true this is but that might be where your mail is going. I normally write United Kingdom in full on any mail I send.

Thats interesting, as my Posts Office didnt know what the "United Kingdom" was and asked for UK, but ideally Great Britain as thats what they use in their system.

If you look on the Thai Post website, in their list of countries its "Great Britain".

  4. Perhaps the staff accepting the parcel didnt do their job properly in asking whats in the parcel etc and it was stopped by the machines prior to loading on the aircraft.

But, as suggested, ask the company directly.

  5. I invested the most expensive and irreplaceable thing of all......time.

You cant get it back, or sell it, once given, thats it.

So , yes I have invested 10 years in her (wife), and its been the best investment I ever made. It gives fantastic returns and had its down turns at times, but overall, it was the best and wisest investment I ever made and continues to provide excellent dividends and has become "priceless" smile.png

  6. As with many things here in Thailand there is rarely consistency, and I agree it may well be "pot luck". I would suggest maybe ask at the hospitals in your area, but then again, the answer you get may be different dependent on who you speak to. Not an easy or straight forward answer.( as usual). Perhaps someone could post with actual experience.

Will move this over to the Health forum, for possibly better knowledge/experience.

  7. If you do a search on this forum for "living will" you will find a number of topics on it.

Here is a start, that may be of interest.

"BANGKOK: THE OFFICE of National Health Commission (ONHC) is planning to raise public awareness about terminal patients right to die, after the Supreme Administrative Court recently endorsed the legitimacy of living wills"

  8. I remember reading somewhere that Native American Indians used to name their children after the first thing they saw when the child was born.

Crazy Horse, Two dogs, Eagle flying, etc

May be it has similar origins ?? but has now been updated to modern times (words etc)

  9. Some in my vicinity:

Helicopter, Focus (as in Ford), channel (TV), programme, (TV), Micro(soft), Computer, Rain, diesel, blumint (toothpaste), Cartoon

I think they choose them because they like the sound of them, influenced by Tv commercials etc, and often have no idea what they actually mean as it isnt their language.
