  1. For thb 5500, I'm sure True would be interested to put a cable to your home if you buy high end / expensive package and sign a contract of a year with them. At this price level, I would choose True cable internet.

No, TRUE are not interested no matter what package I would subscribe to. My staff and myself have spoken to them numerous times and I have even tried offering to pay for running the cable (though I think it is more complicated than that).

Even though I've told them I will cancel my present ADSL they don't care.

    Are you kidding me?

500 meters is way too long for any cable internet lol.

My house is only 120 meters from their Last tap point and true has still refused me , they told me that 100 meters is their choke point.

Btw I have told true that I would happily pay for extra set of wires or equipment needed to install for the extra 20 meters and they still have refused me.

My last resort was to bribe the technician that came my house and it actually worked, he told for 8000 he can do it for me but at the end of the day I didn't take the offer because I was not sure of the reliability and problems later on

  2. Hi,

i was recently looking at the internet and found a thai person selling Shell helix ultra 5W-40 for only 1200 baht online. The same oil costs 1740 baht at various shell gas stations.

So my question is are there fake counterfeit oils out there in thailand?

If so how to do you distinguish between Genuine Shell oil and their counterfeit counterparts?

    Thanks

  3. The 2013 Honda accord which will be probably be introduced here in Thailand at the december motor show will much likely carry over from the same current platform expect some changes here and there but thats pretty much it, the interior will look identical to the current model but will look much sharper like how the they have updated the new civic's interior.

The 2013 honda accord will arrive with a revised Engine but practically speaking same engine with minor improvements such as direct injection to its 2.4 engine which should help increase fuel economy by a small margin and output would increase to 181 hp from the previous 180 hp.

A new hybrid variant will be introduced which will also feature plug in variety, the hybrid motor will be mated with accord's previous 2.0 four cylinder engine returning a 161 hp combined. The plug in system in the new hybrid will allow you to drive in city for about 10-15 miles completely on electric mode depending on your driving habits. the hybrid will feature 3 modes: fully electric, hybrid and benzine only.

A little sad news for all of you who hate CVT gearbox the new accord will feature a cvt gearbox for both of its variant 2.0 and 2.4 but the six cylinder engine will feature a new 6 speed manual gearbox which practically speaking we wouldn't be able to afford at least here in Thailand.

A little off topic: i just bought a new toyota camry 2012 i previously had the last model which was ok but new model is nothing like the old at least in terms of driving and the interior still not a sports car but in my opinion the best in its class.

  4. We got a new 4WD V facelift model Fortuner late last year. As usual Toyota gave no discounts or feebies and a long wait for delivery.

After numerous delays and excuses we were eventually glad to get the car at all. The facelift is mostly cometic but some features have improved with bluetooth phone, DVD stereo and reversing camera nicely integrated. The dash looks slightly less cheap than before. The D4D engine is good to drive but the steering is a bit bland like many Toyota's and the ride is a bit rough. The Fortuner display says it does 10.7 L/km on mostly highway driving.

Resale of Fortuners has been very good in the past but the Trailblazer and soon new Everest plus new Toyota models in 2013 or 1014 will make it interesting.

Boxter, whay is the reference to 5AT? Ours is a 4 speed auto like Toyota show on the web site. Has the trans changed? Good luck with your wait....

Was wondering ****ing the same thing....

    Can anyone please confirm

does the recent model come with 5 gear auto or 4 speed auto?

  5. Hi all,

Having a hard time choosing my new camry color, previously i always chose White pearl but now its only available with hybrid variant and im buying the normal one 2.5G

basically there are 4 colors i am really stuck with Black, Silver metallic, grey metallic and beige metalic

i have had bad experiences with black previously its really hard keeping it dust free,

    What do u guys prefer?

and if i chose beige metallic will it make a difference on the resale value in future heard from a friend it will reduce the resale value

    thanks,

  6. Is there any price advantage to buying a car (new model Camry, e.g.) at the Motor Show, or are you just as well off buying from a dealer (assuming you get a reasonable deal from the dealer)? If you do buy at the Motor Show, where do you take delivery of the car?

The campaign of camry at both the motor show and buying directly from dealer is same, Although the motor-show bookings will deliver the car in july but booking directly from showroom will take about 3 weeks.

  7. Saw the new Camry being showcased on Thai TV news last night but was in a shop so no sound, anyone catch it and details...

Sent from Android please excuse errors in type or judgement

Yup, Toyota has launched new camry nationwide although not Much advertising has been done i think because of the fact that they would like to do grand opening on The motor show,

Toyota is now more focused on sales of hybrid camries rather then the normal one because of not so successful sales of previous hybrid models over The normal ones, they have made the hybrid more featured compared to the normal ones for example Standard features such as smart entry and Push/start is only available in hybrid model and also hate to say this but white pearl is now only available with Hybrids.

Im planning to buy 2.5G version but toyota is not throwing in any freebies and not even free insurance and road tax

Would like to know if any of you can get free insurance from your dealer?

Also would like to know if its better to book one in the upcoming motorshow or just buy it from your local dealer?

  8. Hi

Would Like to buy a range rover evoque which costs only 1.3 million baht both in the US and Uk

Now the same Model Costs 4-5 million in many import companies here in bkk

Would it be cheaper to import or buy one here?

Which country is better to import from US or Uk? In us its abit cheaper with additional accessories

Are There any risks associated with custom department?

Would the many features such as navigation ,Park assist etc work here in bangkok?

Last is there any loophole to save you from taxes and duties?

    Thanks,

  9. Tried Settings->General->Reset->Reset network settings + a reboot?

Can't imagine you need to actually restore the phone for this, absolutely sounds like an AIS network issue.

No this isn't only an AIS issue i have been using true move h and stilll having same problems

  10. well i had the same problem today and most of my friends too, strange we all had it today

Btw the only fix i have found is reset all settings

i also noticed this problem happened while it was searching for network and after a restart this occurred

    goodluck

  11. Well i have the same exact package as you cat fiber optic which i installed few months ago in my house in asok-sukhumvit area in bangkok

i have to say im really impressed with it no slowdowns whatsoever steady 100%

but also when i was signing up for i asked them what's the difference between expensive packages and cheaper ones they told me international speed

so i signed up for 25mb/3 for 8900 baht a month

    here are few speedtests

    Update on Ultra 100/10.

wow i really had high expectations for 100/10 mb true plan

its good that i chose my cat pack package over the true

i mean i literally can get 23-25 mb to US servers in the afternoon

in the morning its more like 25-30 mb

Here are few test done by my cat fibre optic compared to your True plan

  13. Update on True Ultra 100/10, Patong:

    Speed Test #99922900 by dslreports.com

    Run: 2011-12-10 02:07:03 EST

    Download: 1945 (Kbps)

    Upload: 1038 (Kbps)

In kilobytes per second: 237.5 down 126.7 up

    Tested by server: 54 java

    User: 2 @ dslreports.com

    User's DNS: asianet.co.th

    No downtime since installation 2011-12-01.

Only 1.945Mb download speed on a 100Mb download plan and 1.038Mbupoload on the 10Mb upload side. I would be calling True technical support.

On second thought and now fully realizing the test is being run on DSLReports.com (was was thinking Speedtest.net for some reason) I wouldn't call tech support as your speed using the dslreport.com speedtester is pretty much what a person would get whether they are on the 7, 10, 20, 30, 50, or 100Mb True cable plan. I just ran the dslreports.com test to L.A. on my True cable 20Mb/2Mb plan and got pretty much the same values as you did and I knew I would get those results before they even finished running as I've run them before. It's just an international bandwidth limitation/chokepoint and DSLReports thing....probably other factors involved but I'm not smart enough to figure them out.

As for no downtime, I've only had one 8 hour down period since I had the 20Mb plan installed in mid June...both the cable internet and TV were non-operational for that period due to a wide area outage....the second the cable TV came back on the internet came back on also. And during the recent flooding when my moobaan had a 1.5 meters of water in the streets, the cable internet and TV continued to hum along....now my neighbors on TOT ADSL weren't that luckly...they had very slow to no internet (or phone line) due to the ground level junction boxes getting flooded. Heck one of my TOT phone lines is basically still not working (my streets are dry now) due to high noise while my other TOT line is working fine....I expect the faulty line hooks up within the junction box near the bottom (the part that got flooded) while the other line hooks up near the top (the unflooded part). True cable TV/internet does not use ground level junction boxes (at least in my moobaan)...everything is high on the pole.

    i agree,

There is definitely something up with Dslreports

i get 23-25 mb in speedtest.net LA server

    and in Dslreports 11-13 mb

  14. Wow good to see someone Actually posting results with true 100/10 mb Plan

getting only 2 mb from a 100mb plan seems a rip-off considering the fact that my true 6 mb adsl line does better or same as that

really Glad i got a fibre optic line then a true cable plan but i had high hopes for the 100 mb true cable plan

Ohh and pib do you really think true will care about international speed test results ? if so i have been trying since past few days and i get same answer 'we cant guarantee international speed"

just for a comparison purposes of what i am getting from my fibre optic plan

    1639507476.png

  15. yeah getting region 1 games would be a good choice because finding asian psn card is very hard to find compared to US psn cards

but also note that certain region 3 games also have DLCs in the Thai psn store where you can use your thai credit card and be hassle free

for example uncharted 3 has the content available in local thai psn store so no use buying american or region 1 versions

If you really need help you can list the games you gonna buy here so i can tell guide you with what versions to buy..

    good luck

  16. If you want i can sell you my Jailbroken PS3 160gb, as im looking to buy non jailbreak PS3, Bored of playing games myself its time for online competition

How much you are asking for your PS3?

i am sure He can ask for same or more then the original price of a new ps3 in average shops in thailand

Since jail-broken ps3s are not available anymore because new firmwares cant be jail-broken anymore

  17. 250ms second ping? Only for half a day? Lucky you.

This week we've been 5 days without internet from ToT and three weeks ago 6 days with no internet.

Where we are located in Banglamung we don't have another option.

Complaints to ToT's 1100 call center get the usual response that they will forward the report to the engineers. Visiting the Pattaya ToT office gets no remorse, apology or action.

Every month we will loose at least five or six half-day or longer periods where network speeds drops to a ping such as you've mentioned or worse, but these 5 and 6 day stretches with nothing, for no apparent reason and withour any explanation or apology are the final straw.

The result. 15 Thai people have now lost their and we're relocating our business to Cambodia where:

    3G abounds across the nation

Companies can be registered 100% in a foreigner's name for $700

No ridiculous 90-day reports or BS limitations on work permits

People at government departments speak English and documents are supplied in Khmer and English

Thailand and it's third-world infrastructure and couldn't care less customer service attitude can follow the example of the ToT engineer in the attached photo.

Not really , i basically have two lines

my primary line is A fibre optic one which is great

my second line is true adsl line good occasionally but starting this month something has happened to it

you mentioning about thailand and its third world infrastructure maybe true for a average dsl payer

but my primary line which is a fibre optic gets excellent speeds both locally and internationally

here is an example of what i am talking about

  18. Don't tell them you are having slow response or high latency to international sites.

You gave them the "out" when you mentioned it.

Do several tracert (Windows e.g. tracert www.pantip.com) to a Thai website during normal times and during your 2 to 6PM busy time.

It will show the hop with the "slowest" link.

Then ask True for help and show them the tracert output. Be advised, they may not "own" the slow link, so they may not care to help you with the issue.

Also, check your system (Task Manger, Network tab) to see if you're sending or receiving any amount of non-authorized traffic during that time.

You can post the tracert output for us to see and advise..

traceroute to www.adslthailand.com (115.178.62.132), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets

  19. Your ps3 can play all the zones

Zone is basically nothing but stands for the different regions

    Zone 1 = American region

    Zone 2 = European region

    Zone 3 = Asian region

    Zone 4 = Australian region

Basically you dont need to worry about zones unless you need to buy DLC

for example if you buy zone 1 which is the american version you need to make sure you buy the DLC from a US play station store or it wont work with other region stores

basically if you dont need DLC you dont need to worry about Zones

    But if you need DLCS

then buy the following games in this region

    Uncharted 3 = region 3

    Call of duty mw3 = region 1

    Battlefield 3 = region 3

    Skyrim= region 1

    GTA 4 region 3

    Etc...............

remember some playstation stores might not have some DLC which other might have

for example Call of duty black ops the thailand playstation store doesn't have the DLC for it but the US Playstation store has it so its recommended you buy Region 1

Remember if you dont need DLC you dont really need to worry about any ZONES

Also sometimes region 1 games have better resale values then other regions

    Goodluck
