  1. Sausage king has our new Indian curry's in Rimping Supermarkets. Before we had curry's with rice but due to good feed back we lowered the price and made the portions bigger and got rid of the rice bit. Curry price before 129 baht now 99baht for chicken Tikka Massala-Rogan Josh-Korma-Vindaloo and our new Chicken Jalfrezi.

We also will put our American taste spicy Italian and polish sausage in Rimping supermarkets today in the freezer section 400g packs (High meat content and quality products) The Italian sausage is a course meat texture for that real bite meat and no fillers-no color-no MSG-no glutton as all our quality products. 4. I have a safety box in Kadsuen department store in the Bangkok bank,Hauy Kell road. their

Hope this is not hijacking the thread, but the comment has come up by others.

Some words of caution regarding a home safe:

    1. Don't have one installed by an outside vendor. If you can't do it yourself, don't have it.

    2. Don't tell people you have one.

    3. Don't throw the box away in the trash can outside your home.

    4. Try to find a unique place for it or a place where it can easily be concealed.

Those truck drivers who may deliver your safe now know where you live, and even if they are honest, after a few beers, their friends may not be.

If people know you have a safe, they will assume that yours is filled with untold treasures. I had a friend once whose wife was beaten in front of him and had a gun pointed to her head until he gave up the combo.

    Be cautious.

Best post and advice I have been reading for months onTV...

pardon me for asking . i am not a sausage person . but what do " Thai/French aged beef beef " Mean . just to learn more everyday. Thai/french meaning ? . might just help me try some out someday if i clear the understanding

If you would care to look up 'beef aging' on Wikipedia it will give you an insight into the aging process for beef.

    C'mon millwall_fan, give the man a break.

Ta22 asked a simple question to the poster about something he'd wrote and which he didn't understand. I'm sure SK is an authority on the subject, so why on earth would you suggest a fellow member leave the forum and go looking elsewhere on the internet for his answers? Stranger still, after your suggestion, you then gave him an answer, it seems without reluctance!

It's these kinds of responses, and others such as 'why don't you Google it?' that gives the CM forum a reputation of being a tad on the aloof side at times.

Sausage king is not expensive and use local product (Thai french) employ local people. Good business practice I personally admire the ability to run business as a farang in Thailand. However I'm a fan of Tower Bridge sausage.

  13. Thank you very much for taking the trouble of looking for bone china cups/mugs for me and i will go and take a look tomorrow . Not sure why hard to find in Thailand ? You would think SE Asia would be flooded with bone china. so thanks again. Rob/sk

Went to Central Dept store at KSK and looked around the housewares dept. The best china they have is Thai-produced, "fine china" according to the inscription on the bottom of the pieces. It's not quite translucent like fine bone china, but pretty close. They have one pattern called "Pink Rose" that has that English tea-set look. Look under the display of that pattern and you'll find some footed tea mugs on the lower shelves. This pattern has cups in three different sizes, ranging from the dainty cups and saucers that probably couldn't accomodate a man's finger to two sizes of larger mugs.

The price was very good, something like less than 150 baht for each cup.

There were also some ceramic mugs with prettier rose patterns near the railing for the escalator. I believe they are on sale. However, these pieces we not as close to being bone china and their Pink Rose fine china.

After looking over the quality of the Thai-produced fine china I'm really glad we went to the hassle of bringing over the bone china that has been in Hubby's family forever. Here we use it every day. No point in "saving it for good", when we don't have kids and if we break a piece, oh well, it's a set for 12 and we're only two people. So far, it's been amazingly good for everyday use. I've just chipped a couple of pieces and then Hubby took over the dishwashing and has had no chips or breaks for a couple of years.

  15. Sounds like you playing with fire, please do you home work and research as you may well kill yourself and others. We inport our cure thats FDA approved and safe.most nitrate/nitrite used in thailand is used by farmers on crops as it is not pure which means its not fit for food safty or FDA approved, Just a warning.

    Nitrite Poisoning Symptoms

There are twelve main symptoms of nitrite poisoning. Some people may only experience mild symptoms whilst others may have severe experiences, even life threatening ones. However, regardless of the severity of the symptoms, getting immediate medical assistance and emergency care is necessary to avoid potentially permanent damage or death. These symptoms include:

    • Seizures
    • Diarrhea
    • Cyanosis
    • Dizziness or light headedness
    • Nausea
    • Blurry vision
    • Vomiting
    • Breathing difficulties
    • Irritated skin
    • Flushing
    • Headaches

    Conclusion

Nitrite poisoning is not always a major problem, but if it is left untreated, it can cause internal damage. With more serious versions of the symptoms, getting a person to a hospital is important to avoid death. Most importantly, if a person suspects that they or someone else has got potential nitrite poisoning, identifying how they became poisoned and what the source of the poisoning is must be assessed whilst waiting for emergency personnel to arrive. In addition, as with any suspected poisoning, speaking to a person's local poison control center is the first step and they in turn in emergency situations can send immediate emergency help. Plus, never administer any medications or give food or water unless otherwise instructed to do so, unless the person attending has the experience and knowledge of how to treat nitrite poisoning. Learning how to avoid this poisoning is another good step when working with nitrites or around any products that may contain them.

  16. Well thank you very much to take the time to go and look for me.Rob. Cheers.

I know I've seen them at Central Dept store at KSK, but it's been a while. I'll be in that area on Wednesday and will take a look to see if they still have them. I know they have a huge selection of bone china at their big Central Chidlom store in Bangkok, but that doesn't help you much, does it?

  17. I will go and look if they have still have thanks. I tried index today but no joy, ummmm, If anyone has anymore ideas am all ears. Rob/sk

I saw them up for sale once at the Rin Ping supermarket, near airport branch and I think also at the river branch.

But, this must be 2 years ago, so have no idea if they still have them in stock and I can remember that they were very expensive, about 380 baht an item I think.

Worth checking out if you are in that area.

  18. WOW great value Pedra , 100 Baht sounds like an offer that should not be missed. Am sure you do not have profit out of that ? may see you later.Rob/sk

    Like!

I also love the way things have to be worded in 2011-Thailand. It's beginning to affect freedom of speech here, too.

This would really shape up as an excellent day.. Pig out and get plastered until 6pm, then on to the 700 Year Stadium to catch the concert. Could turn out to be the funnest day this year! (Not counting Songkran)

  19. Hi all does anybody know where to buy a bone china mugs or cups in chiang mai ? 20. Did you get two slices of fresh baked bread with your dinner ? When we were there we got bread that i think was baked their ?? Lovely bread and am sure they make their own ? Rob/sk

If you get the mash potatoes with the garlic and parsley what you don't use on the steak you can mix it in with the mash thats what i do anyways tastes great .when i first discovered franco thai went mad for it eased off a bit now

I was the exact same way. I used to go 2 times a week and loved it. I haven't made it there for a few months but I was always very happy.

I would use the left over sauce from the steak for the mash potatoes and then clean the plate with the bread --- my grandmother would have been very proud because the plate was spotless when I was finished

  21. Just got back from FRANCO-THAI PLACE RESTAURANT twice in to weeks 165 + 165 = 330 baht, Better stay in next week ha ha,tried the garlic and herb butter sausace over the steak this time.It was great value for 165 baht, To many fries on the plate so i did not finish all.today.

I think you are in polite to say such a bad thing like that.

The Germans are pigs?
