  2. I thought the customer is always right ? Well that if you want to keep good loyal customers.Rob/sk

The answer is to check the bill before you pay....my GF ALWAYS scrutinizes EVERY bill to the last satang....being honest, it annoys me sometimes....but hey, ensures there are no mistakes!

  3. Ha Ha Nice one Harry and well said haaaaaa Rob/sk

Would you consider taking a call so i can discuss why my sausage have gone limp lately, or is this purely about business?

I am sure that if you really have a problem you will find a phone number to talk about your limp sausage however make sure you have your credit card ready as the charges for such calls are not cheap.

  4. The Sausage king grade A burger breakdown = 100% Thai/French beef that been hanging for 6-7 weeks then minced with some secret ingreidents and no fillers or glutton. and sizes 125g-150g-250g at a very cheap price of 300/kg now thats worth eating. sk

Sorry, but in my humble opinion, none of these (Triple O White Spot, BK, MOS, or whatever) even come close to a good burger.

Witch's Tavern does a pretty good job, and The Home Run bar and Grill also makes a good burger. I am sure there are others, but the fast-food "burgers" are merely ground beef sandwiches, not good burgers.

  5. Hi Gonzo and i had a great time at your restaurant with the family and am sorry if i talk to much but you are a nice guy,the food was great and i just eaten the pie you give you kindly given us to try and wow thats good 10 - 10 for that. I will call in again soon. Rob/Sausage King and Family.

  6. Maybe a driving lesson gone wrong, emergency stop (maybe Lady driver ohhhhhh

Odd.. When I saw it last night, a little after 1AM, all the doors and the trunk were closed. No people around or anything. Just kinda parked there in the water.

Why odd? Maybe someone checked the car or secured personal belongings. When I passed by two Thai men were hanging around.

Odd they that someone would care enough to jump in and close the doors. But were perfectly ok with leaving the car sit there all night and not having it pulled out until later the next afternoon.

  7. I would say in area nana plaza area or klong toey as we get a lot of orders from those two areas. Rob/sk

I haven't checked back at this website lately.

However, thank you very much for all the advises. We're still in the planning and location hunting stage. We are planning to open a shop by the end of this year.

    B,

I have a flour supplier that I worked with. I believe they use a blend of Canadian and US flour.

    Thank you,

    Maggie

    Hi Maggie,

Im also an aritsan bread baker and was curious what kind of flour you are planning on using? The Thai flours are all highly bleached and are of inferior quality to European and US flours, but the Eurpoean flours are prohibitively expensive.

My advice in terms of location would be to attach yourself to a pre-existing living complex where there are a guaranteed constant of foreigners.

In Bangkok, I would advise Nichada which is out in Chaeng Wattana which is a massive housing complex of foreigners with many stay at home moms and very few good food options....

In Phuket, there is something similar though not quite as large called Laguna which is comprised ot several different hotel chains as well as short/long term houses with lots of foreigners...

There you could try to get a space inside or just outside the complex in an area called Chern Talay

    good luck

    B

Thank you soooo much for all the advise. Seriously, I wouldn't even thought about many of the places without your advise. My initial thought was somewhere in Bangkok and Phuket because I live in Bangkok. For Phuket, I went there for vacation and saw a market potential.

Initially, I actually didn't think about Pattaya as a potential place (I just didn't think about it!!). Now I see that there are demands, however, there are a lot of competitors. It's also not my favorite place to live.

I actually didn't think about Surin neither. I went to Surin couple times. you are right, it is hard to find a good bakery there!

Bonobo, thank you for your advise around Pinklao. I actually live around that area. My goal for this bakery is for westerner. So, yes, I discounted my Thai customers. That's why I didn't think that Pinklao could be a good place. However, now you make my head a little more clear that there might be some potential here....and I SHOULDN't discount my Thai customers.

I'm really looking at Sukhumvit. However, it's very risky to do business there. I'm really in a dilemma.

Again, thank you so much for all your advises. Everyone gave me valuable information and ideas for the shop. I'll keep my ears open and searching for the right locations.

    Thank you,

    Maggie

  9. If all fails YOK on the superhighway have a large range of pizza ovens and cheap, between 10.000-25.000 baht

Mostly in October is still rainning, I think better to do it in Noverber.

Fire wood in Chiang Mai you can find it also in Muang Mai Market or in local shops in city such as near Chiang Mai gate and if you need it a lot, there is a supplier in Lampang and they will delivery to you for free, I think the price is 1,200 baht per ton ( not sure if it is update price).

There are many blick factories in Chiang Mai where you find fire blick, in Hang dong have more such as blick Sivilai, Paradorn blick,...

This is an information about building pizza oven

  10. I Hear on the grape vine that their is a big Bar/Restaurant may open in Sansai with thai/western food and pool table and darts + large screen for the sports all goes well about 12 weeks time. quote name='Pikey' timestamp='1299999720' post='4278425']

Never been but saw the Heidelberg last week. So, from Mee Chok/Rimping go north on the 1001, over the 121 crossroads, past L&H on the left, past the PT/7-11 on the left then after about 400m slow down. It's just about opposite Wawee Coffee still on the left but not terrifically well signposted. If you go as far as the new traffic lights at the Esso station you've missed it.

    Cheers,

    Pikey.

  11. If you give me a choise of lady or this beast then i would have to have a long hard think as both investments cost ??????? ha ha ha

Wow if it was possable to give a higher score out of ten then i would. thats awesome piece of engineering. A real boy toy

    10 out of 10 from me. :D

    Mildly interesting, I grant you.

And the relevance of this to Chiang Mai, Thailand, is.......................??????????????

  12. With over 25 years in the sausage business i have a lot of knowledge in sausage making and as i said we do use 95% prime meat with 3 different cuts of meat and a lower fat content of fat for healthy eating. However we could make a sausage filled with bread crumbs and 30-40% fat on special request but its not the type of sausage we like to stock or put are name behind. Sausage King belive in low profit and quality quality quality because it wins in the end..Rob/sk

SK how can you use 95% prime meat when most sausages need at least 20-30% fat? Or do you mean that the meat that you use is prime quality meat?

As for flavors, that is a personal thing but even if one doesn't like the tastes they can recognize quality ingredients. You can tell just by looking at SK suasages that they are quality made. Good color, and mix of spices. Before one complains about them go out and make your own a few times. You will see that it takes excellent control and technique to make a quality sausage. Though I don't prefer the flavor of SK sausage compared to the best back home they are a quality product on par or above the major companies here.

LJW FYI Amercian sausages are usually bland.
