  1. Franco-Thai Place Restaurantattachicon.gif Best Value Fillet Steak In Chiang Mai 165 Baht This must be a better place to eat ?

Could he just have had hot steamy gay sex?

  2. I put 2 sons name on the land papers so if one goes of the rails the land conot be sold until both sign. its the best way at the time and has worked out well as my sons are good boys.far safer risk.

I would say say that yes Rob, you made a very wise decision there by putting title in your minor children's names. I believe that any future transactions concerning the land require court supervision or court order, but if you don't plan to sell or borrow against it, then that is a very good move. That is what I would do if I was in a situation like that. You don't ever want to put a large investment like that in a Thai spouse's name.

I would say say that issue needs deeper consideration. Teenagers, daughters in law, costs....

I know of a guy whose teenage son told him several times "You have no right to this house, I own the land,......." The court was not involved with transferring the land out of the teenage son's name because he "agreed" to it. There was however a significant tax paid for the transfer like any other transfer of land.

Further, when the child owners become of age there is no need for court supervision, they own the land, they are adults and they can do what they want with it. So the kid is 18 or 21, whatever the legal age of adulthood is, and wants or his wife wants for example a new BMW, he can sell the land and house.

Something to consider indeed. But if a child grows up to behave in a manner like that, then I see it as a failure on the part of the parent(s) and the way they raised the child.

  3. Well said well educated and spot on.

We at Sausage King at Experts in many cures However all supermarket and makro bacon is brine cured and pumped with brine to get the weight up. Weight = extra profit that the customer will lose in the frying pan as you will see the water coming out while cooking it in the pan and you will see what Quality bacon you have bought. It will shrink and have white brine coming out while cooking, If they dry cure it then it will keep the taste in the bacon and the size of your bacon will keep most of its size. Why do most companys not dry cure ok well example 1,000kg of pork in a dry cure will come out as 900kg when cured because the dry cure sucks the water out. The wet brine cure 1.000kg pork to start and then pumped with brine cure before they put in a brine to cure. Results = 1,200kg in weight gain = lots of extra profit but not fair to the customer, most supermarket hams are the same. Rob/sk

The frozen streaky bacon sold in Macro is the best I have tasted in Thailand.Although it is sold for the restaurant trade in kilo packs, it is not difficult to partly thaw and repack in smaller quantities. The price is much better than all of its competitors.

Pumping up Bacon is nothing new in the UK and Europe in general and a lot of Supermarket bacon is so treated. Huge amounts come in like it from Denmark and Holland in particular and the latter is also a big supplier of pumped up Chicken portions as well. More water=more money and to hell with the customer.

You wouldn't be an American policeman, would you?

  10. For the price 165 Baht i not worry to much if the steak has been in pinapple first ? what a quick cheap meal. 165 Baht wow great value.

We know. You said that in yhour first post.

I agree the steaks are very soft, like butter. Too soft.

My guess is that the steaks are marinated in pineapple juice to tenderize them.

i still agree with most posts about the value. i just choose not to eat the beef.

Am Sorry but i not agree about the beef. Its the best i have had so far its like cutting through butter, maybe they have changed beef supplier now ? try it again. Rob/sk

Its really a great value to say the least. We mostly go there for their beef steaks but they also offer a good variety of other types of food.

They used to have the absolute best roasted garlic mashed potatoes, but last time we were there it seems that they have changed. Last time it was a huge portion(size of my head) and very good, but plain (no roasted garlic). Also, the last couple of times there I haven't seen the waitress that had been there for years. Anyone know of what's happened to the waitress? I'm hoping that she finally got her operation and is recovering, but I know it just as likely that she's quit of got let go.

I think the waitress was Noi or Moi. I haven't seen her in many months and the cards asking for donations for her surgery have been gone for an equally long time. I hope she's doing well.

I've been going for years and I don't remember the garlic mashed potatoes, but I have to admit I usually get the fries (excellent) or the scalloped potatoes (even better) that come with the confit de canard.

I agree it's great value, but imho I think the beef is their only weak link. I love their confit de canard, the charcuterie plate, and all their sauces especially on their pork or chicken dishes. But I find their beef to be of poor quality, typical of many Thai restaurants.

It's hard to find but worth the trip. FYI - they are closed on Mondays.

  16. Hi Beetlejuice, We at Sausage King are happy for the positive feed back on Sausage King pies, We take great care to make high quality pies,When i first come Thailand i tried to find a half good pie but its was not to be, I love a good pie so that when you bite into it you got lots of chunks of meat, We deep fill our pies that much its hard to put the tops on our pies. i liked a good pie in my home country and i would travel a long distance for a quality pie,I have to say all sausage king products are made to a very high quality standard and we will keep the quality like this always,Small profit but great products = Happy customers. All our products are hand made.Rob/sk

A couple of times a week I travel to the Rimping Supermarket, near the airport branch to buy some of those meat pies.

I have tried several different brands and thought they were a load of old crap. Must say that Sausage King's are good and the best of the bunch, I've sort of become addicted to them. I am a Sausage King meat pie junkie. They are definitely of the same standard and quality that I used to buy in England and you don't need a truck load of cash to afford one.

Easy to prepare, just bung it in the microwave for 3 to 4 minutes.

The meat content is firm and juicy, but my favourite part of the pie is the pastry. Chunky and crispy even after heating it up in the microwave. Plenty of meat, juicy inside, chunky and firm outside. If only Sausage King could produce a woman with the same qualities, he would be onto a winner.

Anyway, I like em, so if you haven't experienced Sausage King's pies, go and try them out for yourselves and don't forget to leave some for me.
