  2. Pies etc. should always be defrosted in the fridge, and if you are using a microwave to heat your pies.....well you just <deleted>*ked them.:bah: A pie should only be heated in an oven.

That's what i thought ,but if the pie is cooked in the oven long enough to heat the meat, the pastry top gets inedibly hard. That could either mean a visit to the dentist is required or the pasty is hard anyway.

I would have to agree here, no food is good from the freezer to the table that quick.

Microwaves also make beef tough and pastry soggy, unless its a convection microwave, then it has half a chance, the best way is to defrost in the fridge overnight then slowly heat in a convection oven.

Yessssssssssss but just can't wait. The pies are great!

Pies are great 350g deep filled. Rimping in freezer section you will find sausage king brand of pies,Steak & kidney-Steak & Onion-Chicken bacon mushroom-mince steak- We now have Chicken Tikka Massala pie (new)

  3. One of my more favorite places is the huge Ping River reservoir... about a days drive south of Chiang Mai. It's truly a scenic gem.

I'd suggest an initial trip or two with an outfitter such as AsianAnglingAdventures before purchasing your own boat.

wow that looks a super place and that what i was hoping to see and why i want to buy a boat. my sons will love that and i will show them you great pictures. Nice fish. (Did you eat it ?) Rob.

Good morning and i see you have warming problems for our curry's, when SK tested the heating time we use industrial type microwave which maybe why our time is not same yours,But good info for us to know that and thank you very much for being honest,We also understand the problem about the rice cooked before the curry and as all microwave curry's are packed like this the only thing i could say is take the rice out of the microwave dish and if you are going to microwave the curry then cook the curry for 4 min and the pop the rice back in the microwave box and cook for another 2 min. thank you for your comments and at sausage king its our customers that count and we listen to them as we want to keep high standards for you.we also happy you like our Indian curry products. We Have 25 years experience with Indian foods and we do tone down the chili for the most people not eat to hot. If you like hot then pick the Vindaloo. if you like you can add 1/2 tea spoon chili powder before cooking or chop 2-3 green chilies and add to curry after cooked. We can make any curry but we find that chicken Tikka masala-Rogan josh-Vindaloo-Korma are the most popular. we could produce other curry's if in demand. Sorry that one of you got to Rimping and stocks were out but we stock every 2 days and now we stock in all 4 Rimpings. Have a nice day. SK Rob.

  5. Pictures look great and i think with so much good weather its the right country for a boat hobby and am sure my sons will love it.. Would like a list of the best lakes to go around Chiang Mai and is it possible to stay over a night or 2 ? or even set up a camp ?

Thank you and great info. i will take a trip first to have a look and think i will look a few lakes around before buy a boat. many thanks. Rob.

Too many to list, check all the water on MapGuide Thailand or Google maps. Very few places don't allow motorboat access, like Phayao lake - too shallow.

Mae Ngat has many float cabins to choose from and bringing your own boat will provide more entertainment for the kids. Bring your ski mask.?!? The cabins make for a nice meal stop or can provide a tub of ice and refreshments for a day trip. Visit the launching area of Mae Ngat at sun up on a Sunday morning to get an idea of how many boaters there are (not long tails).

Camping you can do at most lakes freely, though this would be rough camping only (bring a shovel). Mae Kuang reservoir, 18 kms from CM, often has campers on the remote shores.

All the bits needed are available here; safety gear is smattered around the stores in town, a couple of shops will set you up with a hitch for your truck, motors are available - strangely at those large plastic item shops, and there is a couple of dedicated boat mechanics around. The boat mechanic in Lamphun always seems to have a boat and/or motor for sale. Yes finding some items like a tow ball for the truck and a bilge pump do requiring ordering from Bangkok.

  6. Again, I think it depends on where you were thinking of going, the South is a big big area with some areas having zip all and other areas pretty good. I hear Nakhon is ok, I've been to the Tesco there and its nice. Surat has Big C, Tesco and Makro but no idea of the nightlife.

Other areas of the South, not a clue. Trang is beautiful but pretty laid back I think.

Thank you for the info and maybe i will take a trip their later in the year for a holiday. Rob.

  7. the size of a mc e dee's is 1/10 of a pound.2 of them together or a double burger is just about right.ya don't want them overly large or you'll be fighting cholesterol.

i agree with burger size, As SK we supply popular restaurants with 150g steak burgers and 180g-250g so if you had 2 x 250g = 1/2 kg/500g meat ohhh Jaw lock is in order Ha Ha

  11. Great you guys are so easily distracted. You can look for the sweet tarts, whilst I eat the rhubarb! Apple and rhubarb is nice but not a decent cooking apple to be had here.

We used to grow rhubarb in old chimney stacks - not many of those here either.

God I really have a rhubarb craving now.

Where to buy rhubarb in c.mai ?

    Hi

I think love at first bite has rhubarb crumble...

they certainly had it one time that I went.

    David

Opps! That'll teach me to read page 3 before page 2!

  12. ...I have my ski mask and ropes here :D

    Hmmmmm, kinky

  14. I agree it would be a good buy and i know the owner Rudy. His food is good and Gekko is a busy place. i feel a hot spot location

Right, the "view the full ad" link doesn't work, but the description matches alot of what is in the City Life ad:

The Chiang Mai Gekko Garden Restaurant and Pub is For Sale This is a magnificent opportunity to purchase a thriving bar and restaurant in the heart of Chiang mai. It is located on a corner lot close to the night market. This is not a beer bar but a...

Starting from "This" thru "but a" its a word for word match of the City Life ad.

  15. I had a blue book with my house in Hang Dong. I just held onto it and gave it to the new owners. I agree, the rules on these changes like the wind.

Can a Farang get a blue book- I have always been told no chance.

    U mean on your Condo?

I have a yellow book for the house i live,However i have a company and if i buy a house in company name i can get a blue book. As for the law on blue and yellow books, It like the weather and laws can change by the day. I know a English man who had a land paper in his own name, Beat that!! I tried to do this but no way ummm. However i did buy some property and put in my sons names who are half Thai and English, I was told at the land office i could not do this because my sons are 8 and 11 years old?? I did do this as my lawyer said it can be done and he had to show the land office an updated law book on right to own land. Now my sons own land and if i get divorced my wife cannot ask me to leave and she can never sell any property bought like this and i cannot also. My sons can do when they are of age 20. on one piece of land i put 2 of my sons names on the land papers so the land cannot be sold with both son to agree at the land office at the age of 20 at the same time. if anybody need a good lawyer then e.mail me through my website and i will be happy to give his details and he good and cheap + i know a excellent translator who is excellent and only charges 1.000 per day to help with any problem where a translator is needed.Rob http://www.sausageking1.com/

Yer Rob I sent a few emails to you over the past 2 weeks on differing queries (Incl. purchases from Sausage King)- with no reply---Whats up buudy. Are u getting the emails from jayinoz............................We cannot PM you as u a sponsor for some crazy reason. Cheers Jay

Anyway the blue book seems to be allowed if purchased under Co Ltd. My lawyer told me I can put land into the name of my 1yo- who is half THAI- is this FACT.

The only drawn back I see Rob in the event of divorce- is you must leave when your wife gains custody of your Son's. So the battle over custody of you son's would be long and expensive. Whoever gets the kids- gets the assets. That is the downside of putting in your kids name- yet not an issue when they adults. Yet fall out with one of your kids then look out.... Have I made u felt uneasy yet. Nothing is bullet proof from what I have seen- except living a full and decent life with your wife. Cheers Jay

  17. I'd agree with you. A long time ago back in the UK I got about 12 weeks a year, 1 Easter, 2 Whit, 6 summer and 2 Christmas then there were a few days off for half terms. My children in the UK got pretty much the same except u11 they got 3 weeks at Whit.

Here I would thing the average is around 20 weeks. My son is off school at the moment for 4 weeks. They also have a very long break of about 12 weeks and quite a few other days for Royal Birhtdays and special Buddhist events.

My personal view is that they get too many holidays and it is the main holiday which is too long.

I also remember that back in the UK I got a list in September of all the holidays until September the following year. Afetr nine years in Thailand it's still difficult to get accurate dates only a few weeks off the holiday.

Yes i agree about the school holidays are not the same Europe. The Thai are children are better behaved then in uk from where i come from. i have to sons what are half Thai and English and they are 9 and 11 years old now but they went to a uk school for the early years and now they in Thai school and i feel sure i done the best thing for my sons in the way they grow up polite in Thai. I was worried at first because when we first come Thai my sons could not speak Thai. Well after 15 months they can speak and read and write it.

  18. Dont know where you are in Thailand but i buy my malt (heinz) vinegar from Rimping (Chiang Mai) 84baht a bottle (12 Fd Oz/355 Ml),i also pickle my own onions and red cabbage,it's a bit stronger than the norm pickling vinegar like (sarsons) but it does the job if you add 1/3rd water dry chilli and peper pods depends on how strong you like them,i like them so they bite back so just add for your required taste,of course you have to make the brine and soak them overnight etc,but i'm sure you know that already.

    Good luck,hope this helps.

Hope you got some nice cheese to go with your picked onions ?
