  1. They're a pretty fickle lot here Don, show them a new sausage and they're anyone's.

I had visitors last month and served up your steak and mushroom pies with onion and bacon gravy, mashed potatoes and beans and carrots and received a standing ovation.

Don't despair, purists... we had Thai food on the other days.

am sure don has nice food and we both in the food business but our products are not quite the same. ie Indian curry etc.We at Sausage king use 95% prime shoulder and belly pork in our sausage with no fillers-no msg-no color- just top quality pork. We don't part cook our sausage as we like our customers to see a fresh sausage and great contents. thats no offence to you Don.

We just made a new beef & chicken pot Pie and its wonderful taste,so guess i will bring a few over when we come Chiang Rai next month. Rob/sk

  2. We at Sausage King use a traditional pie crust. and puff pastry on sausage rolls.

I guess I'm just too much an American, but somehow the idea of a pie with meal just seems wrong.

We have pot pies with meat and vegetables and English/Aussie meat pies are not much different. Both are good. :)

My main gripe about meat pies is that everyone seems to be using puff pastry now and I much prefer a traditional pie crust.

  3. Good morning and ha ha you right about spelling mistake on website, i better stick to my day job cooking ha ha. i will be Chiang Rai second week in November so let me know how many hot dog sausage you want and i will be more than happy to bring them for you.Rob/sk

Just so you all know, I asked Rob about a specific product that I have been looking for. He doesn't stock it. But he went out of his way to find it from another producer and has offered to bring some to me when he arrives next month, at cost. What a guy. I'll take him up on it but he will get something from me for his trouble.

I didn't mention to him that he needs to change his 'Americian" foods on his website to "American" foods. Maybe he writes "Americian" just for fun. We all need to have a little fun.

  4. Wow i only dropped the Beef & Chicken Pot Pies for you last night, what did you think of them ? quote name='harrry' timestamp='1288401009' post='3989763']

The four meat hot pot pies you sold me are gone now .....the chicken are still there but I caught people looking at them...there was just no room to eat them.

  5. I Like to ask what people want to eat rather then guess and then i make it and try it. We like home cooking style and quality with a personal touch. The pot beef and chicken pie we made today for the first time sold out and we will be making more tomorrow. Rob/sk

    Wow, this is pretty cool!

    Meat pie euphoria...

Glad to see some other food item than hamburgers or pizza, that people seem so passionate about in CM.

  6. I guess I'm just too much an American, but somehow the idea of a pie with meal just seems wrong. OK, maybe a chicken pot pie, but otherwise pies are suppose to be made with fruit and served as dessert. So how about a nice apple pie and a blueberry pie, made with real Michigan apples and blueberries? I used to buy blueberries fresh during the short Michigan season and fill an entire freezer with them. Yum! We enjoyed blueberry pancakes year 'round, but not blueberry pie because I never quite figured out how to make 'em.

We have Bramley apple from and blueberry pie. apples import from NZ but not on our menu yet and you right yum yum

  7. I've lived in Australia for 30 years, but never come accross a Full English Breakfast Pie.

SK you may get some ideas from this link to a specialist Pie Shop/Cafe just 15 minutes from our place in Melbourne, hope the link isn't breaking any rules. If it is removed PM me and I'll get it to you.

Looking forward to sampling your wares when we get back to town at Xmas Day.

    Pie in the Sky

we are popular with pie at sausage king because our pies are loaded with meat and i not recommend you eat my pie with a nice white shirt on,our standard pies are 350g in weight so you not need veg or chips. by the way the beef pot pie mix has been made and will be a pie by noon tomorrow and the chicken pot pie will be made before the day in out Friday. both super pies and thanks for the feed back. not worry if i make a cheese pie it will have the best cheese in. its no wonder my company has no profit but what the hel_l we have good food and i eat it. Rob/sk

Not sure if it would be cost productive but a lamb/mutton pie with mint sauce and a game pie with some rabbit, venison & port would be nice.

  15. When Sausage king moves we will be more easy to find and 5 min away from Thai visa office, just of the 121 sansai

As long as you don't move too far from where we found you earleur this week! Easy to locate, convenient to get to and the food's still frozen when you get home -- at least if you live in San Sai or thereabouts -- another good reason for living outside town.

Our goodie bags arrived home in perfect condition, and I have to say that the bacon is the best I've tasted anywhere in the UK and streets ahead of the stuff you can buy in the supermarkets here. I've so missed my morning bacon buttie for the last 4 years-- but no more!

Thank you and glad you appreciate quality Dry Cured Bacon and yes we think we will move to new work shop in about may 2011. we are not moving far but easy to find. we will a be a soi of the 121 sansai near laguna home and we are planning to have a work shop and small mini mart with western food bits and pieces like A1 and HP Sauce etc. also you will be able to buy direct same as now and we are thinking of putting an all day English and American breakfast on at a special price for xpats 60B-80B as we manufacture we should be able to do a great breakfast for that price.so more details later on that.

  16. Signs that are liable for the "sign tax" are any signs that illustrate name, brand, trade name, trademark, or are intended for commercial purposes.

Signs that are exempted from the tax are signs that are displayed at the recreation facilities, specifically those within the recreation area which are for that specific recreational event, signs that are used on product packages, signs that are only temporarily displayed, signs that are displayed on human beings and/or animals, signs that are displayed in the indoor area of the business premises.

Sign taxes are calculated by the size of the sign, that is length x width using the basis of square centimeters.

The following are the rates of the sign tax per 500 Square centimeters

    · 3 Baht for signs with Thai alphabet only

    · 20 Baht for signs with mixture of Thai alphabet and foreign alphabet / pictures / other signage

    · 40 Baht for signs without Thai alphabet or

with Thai alphabet, but located under the foreign alphabet

An example of the calculation for a sign that has a mixture of the Thai alphabet and foreign alphabet (a size of 400 square centimeters by 200 square centimeters) – would have a rate of 20 Baht per 500 square centimeters. 80,000 Square centimeters divided by 500 then multiply by 20 = 3,200 Baht.

Sign tax must be file and submit at the local revenue office (using the form Phor Por 1)

Than you very much for you info sunbelt and that was good info and so i should start with a phor por 1

  17. Can I just give a reccomendation for SausageKings Meat Samosas.

Bought a pack at Rimping last week and was very pleased with them.

The filling was quite excellent...spicy and hot....and maybe I am wrong, but a very distinctive flavour of fresh corriander.

I was'nt that impressed with his 'dry cured' bacon or his sausages to be honest ,he said that the Thai pork was not the same as our european pork, but these samosas were quite excellent.

We are happy you like our Samosa and as for our Bacon we Dry Cure our bacon is a traditional way and Factory Bacon is cured in a Brine and we feel dry cure is the very best Bacon. We manufacture probably the best Bacon in Thailand. Our sausage contains 95% prime pork. If you buy Standard sausage in UK with only 60-70% pork and the rest rusk then that is not Quality. We work on small profit and high Quality and volume sales. All our Sausage ingredients are imported from uk as using Thai ingredients will not be the best taste. We at Sausage king use only the very best ingredients in every food product what ever the cost. Our Standards are as marks and Spencer and we are suppliers to some of the biggest 5 star chain of Hotels worldwide. Rob/ sk

  18. You should try Makro superhighway . The toilet is outside the building and you have to walk out the store and half way round the store and then climb about 40 steps to get upstairs to the toilet room. now thats a real challenge to get from in store and jump the cue to get past cashier and run for your life thinking i wish i did not eat spicy last night and then to be greeted by a stair case of 40steps ohhhhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhhhhhhh .If you make it this far then clean or dirty toilets don't jump to mind

  19. I realy like hashbrown potatoes but could never cook them right, i learnt (from a cook) that the secret is to peel the spuds then put in cold water and bring to the boil, then grate, now i cook them how i like em, even with rice bran oil. Buckwheat pancakes are great with bacon and eggs and big dobs of butter, bratwurst are good for breakfast but the Germans think your mental frying them up with eggs and shinken and painting it red with tomatoe sauce, i'd like to be able to make a hollandaise sauce, eggs benadict or florentine, whoooaaaa, don't mind the Ol wiestwurst either, with a salzstangen mit khasee, and that fruity mustard, lambsfry and bacon, kiwi style, now thats a good breakers, mmmm had beef liver with mash for dinner, none left, bugga, food threads must be fattening , got some scollops in the freezer, righto food time.

How about this for starters ha ha
