  3. Me and the misses just handed in ALL the paper work to get one for Chiang Mai, and then they lit a bunch of hoops on fire and asked me to jump. Just some the documents they wanted:

-Copy of wifes ID card and house registration

    -Letter from immigration stating residence

    -Chanote of condo

-Letter from condo management saying I live there

    -Copy of condo buying contract

    -Proof of income

    -Copy of passport

    -Photos

There is more, but I forget and will have to did out the envelope.

We also have to return with a Thai person of good character to vouch for me, and they need copies of their id and house reg.

I was about ready to cut open my finger and pull down my pants to give them a blood and semen sample as well. blink.gif

The nice lady also informed us that it will take "a long time" for it to go into the system. Sigh.....TIT

I did not need any of the documents you had to provide here in Mae Jo. All done free of charge in 10 minutes. Free coffee also

wow thats good john and the yellow book means you have the right to live at the address and nobody can make you leave. nice lady. sk

  5. DO NOT TOUCH DYNASAT

Hey buddy...I can give you a great deal on a DYNASAT System.:whistling:

And thats the way dream box and Astro will go some day.

I bought a DYNASAT system a few years ago and the full setup cost me 25.000 baht and it never worked apart from some indian channels and thai tv for a few days then went off and i would call dynasat and they said they were only agents ?? i said i want my money back and they said NO ummmm. Well maybe i have to pay someone 25.000 baht to take that system away. the D box better

  6. if only we could receive ASTRO up here in chiang mai.

We have Astro and True visions in Phuket and the programming for the English language channels is pretty much identical, except True has better sports coverage.

Thats not true. Astro has more English language programming compared to True Visions Platinum. Eg: Fox, Australia Network, Al Jazeera, Fx, CI etc etc etc. A lot more HD channels too.

It would be good to get Astro in CNX but not possible. Its a shame we are not able to get multichoice from South Africa on the dreambox as we used to get SKY news(UK) and all the cricket and rugby live. Now we are back to True Visions package which is cr_p apart from Grand Prix and English Premier League

Yes you right and i will keep looking for some way to get more Satellites. Maybe we can ask our man if he can find a way to stream the astro to our dream box. Right it back to the kitchen and slave over a hot cooker ha ha. mince pies and christmas is going on the xmas menu. Rob.

  7. The food is hot, wonderfully deliciously spicy. I love Southern food :)

Rents, depends on where you have in mind really, but my understanding is that anything outside the tourist areas are cheap. cost of living is cheap if you don't live on an island too.

Thanks for the reply and whats it like for supermarkets - night life etc ?

  8. I have heard good and bad about the dreambox.

I have UBC Gold now and with 2 decoders, pay a little more than 2000 p/mo. But am really sick and tired of UBC and all of their policies..... repeat repeat repeat, and service is lousy. not mentioning the pkg is just too expensive for what you get in my opinion....for the amount I pay I expect a better quality of lousyness.

Dreambox users tell me more of your own experiences , like what News, sports , movies etc you get and cost factors

Thanks & Mardy u pay attention.

    G

Hi their and thanks for your reply. if you drop me a qiuck e.mail i will give you a run down and price, it a lot cheaper than you are paying. click on my website for e.mail address. Cheers Rob.

  9. Two sausage products that have been mentioned by American BM's might prove to be worthwhile commercial ventures here in Thailand:

    1) American pepperoni: the pepperoni in Thailand is usually made by TGM and is not similar at all to American pepperoni. It is more like a heavily peppered spanish chorizo. A sample recipe can be found here: spicy pepperoni recipe

    2) Mexican chorizo: only Spanish chorizo is sold in Thailand. While it is good, it is a medium-hard sausage, and Mexican chorizo (beef or pork) is a soft sausage. A sample recipe can be found here: mexican chorizo recipes

Just some suggestions that may be a good addition to your current product line.

Not true ...I sell Mexican Chorizo ..... I might be the only one, and I am on a Island , so I guess you have a point ......

The only problem I have is having to explain time and time again that it is different to the Spanish Chorizo..

in the beginning I got lots of phone call's from customers, telling me that there was something wrong and that it crumbled when they fried it

Now i only sell it to people in the know, and the Mexican restaurants on the island ... I don't ofer it in the supper markets on the Island any more.. as it just caused to much confusion for the Europeans...

    S.J.C

I to do a Mexican Chorizo , not the Spanish type and sell to restaurants ,, and American customers.....i am thinking of doing Spanish type....for the euro crowd.we have also Jack cheese and pepper jack made locally, what a treat that is...

we have ready made Chile con carny and Texas chili,,,,just heat and eat .

I love Mexican food and plan to add more as i make my own tortillas now and may sell them also and salsa.

    Mr Moo

I find the Spanish chorizo the most popular in the north Thai and great for pizzas etc and we make this from time to time.

  10. The land can't be very enclosed or private if they are already parking on it no?

I doubt it will come off as a deterrent. If you clamp someone, then you will have a confrontation (reactive) which is NOT a deterrent (proactive). Confrontations can become violent, etc..

Maybe a better access barrier is required.

I would check the law first at your local police station before you clamp at car ? i would not want you to clamp a LT Colonel !!

  11. Dear Sausageking,

First of all forget the triffle, it's easy to make and home made is always way better than shop bought. Paté is definitely a good idea, look at Brussels Paté etc. as well as chicken liver and duck liver.

What I really miss is good sandwich ingredients, cold cuts - York Ham (un-smoked), roast chicken, roast pork, roast beef, sliced corned beef etc.

    Anyway good luck

yes we will make the pate and a few styles. we have great ham on the bone and some other cold meats like roast beef medium rare. we are a new sponcer and we not want to sound like spam on thai visa. But have a Quick look at the website and see if you can suggest new menu ideas (pate will go on sure) Rob. http://www.sausageking1.com/

  12. Two of my friends have visited Hua Hin and both agreed it is rather dull and boring, OK for a sightseeing trip but nothing more.

Thanks for you info and maybe he should take a look a few citys first. I settled in chiang mai and like it here because has all you could need, good schools for the kids and good for shopping but the air here is a bit dirty. Rob.

  13. I would just pull the hard drive, and any expensive but portable componants and bring them in my luggage.

You can buy the Tower, mobo, and PSU out here fairly easily.

I bought a tower in uk 3 years ago and put it in my hand luggage and the air crew taken it away form me until i arrive BKK then i went through customs and was stopped and the asked me if the tower is over 5 years old then it canot enter thailand ?? its was not and not sure how they would know just by looking ? so if its old then i would say back your data up and buy a tower here and they are cheap here. Rob. Oh the customs did not charge me any inport tax as i said its my personal pc

  14. UBC - You can watch the same movie 30 times a month in case you miss something.

However, to be fair I have UBC for the English Premier League football. I watch the Spanish league, the Italian league, Formula 1 and what about that great Ryder Cup victory...well worth the gold/platinum subscription fee.

Cheap Charlie will not skimp when it comes to sports...unless its Baseball, American Football or that girls game played by 7' tall men..........netball. wink.gif

what kind of movies ? A bridge to far ? i not seen that for a few weeks. ha ha. so you think UBC is best deal for c.mai. Is it a 1 year contract ?

It's the best deal FOR ME

The platinum package is about 2,100 Bt a month and the Gold about 1,570 Bt a month.

Ehm, he already has that, except not at those prices.

No i use the dream box at this time and before i could get the multi choise sat and that was good but now they show true vision which is ok but if internet goes down then so does the tv ?
