Good question. I am 43 with a 3 years old daughter and 2.6 mb house mortgage to pay but I thought about what I would do if I ever get in a similar situation. I would find some families with children that really want to study and support their education financially. Yes true, not every student wants to study but I've seen over the years some students who really would but simply no money so despite of their sincere wish and potential, they end up as street vendors (nothing against the street vendors). I would make it as a hobby. For example pay regular or random visits to their home/school, make these payments personally etc. What I surely wouldn't do is to give the funds to some charity organizations because they are holes without bottoms.

Hi folks, I worked for a company in Thailand for 5 years and paid for SSO during this time. I lost my job on 31st October so I formed a company and have director role. I read somewhere on the forum that if a foreign losses job, s/he can continue paying for SSO if 6 months didn't pass. My wife went to SSO office to check about it and they gave her a plain no because I am a foreigner. Would someone be so kind as to tell me what my options are regarding this issue?

I am also about to apply. What is to be written in the field when and where I plan to leave the country? I don't plan but would like to have the option to leave whenever I want.

Thanks. I had to take my wife and a witness when I went to apply for extension. They sent me to make additional copies 6 times. Hopefully, no witness and wife required next year. I have one more question. If they grant me one year extension, will I get one year starting from the day I get the extension or from the date of applied for extension or from the time my visa was granted in Savannakhet?

This journey was a hell for me. First Savannakhet, then applying for extension and receiving the under consideration stamp, then immigration came to my house, then I am going to visit them to get the extension, them going to report for 90 days. Is it more simple when applying for one-year extension next year?

Do you have non-immigrant O marriage visa or non-immigrant O retirement? Is it single or multiple entry? Please specify this information. If it is non-immigrant O marriage visa, you can have a WP based on it.

I am in Bang Bua Thong and drink 5 bottles of beer once a week (doctor's prescription). During that time I talk with my friends around the world online and we call it online beer. No many foreigners here so once a month or in two months I would enjoy live conversation.

This is how I understand it - or at least this is how I intend to do it. Once you have 90 days or one year non-immigrant O based on marriage, you apply for the one year extension based on 400k two months seasoned money. As the guys say, the WP has nothing to do with this visa. Then, when you will be applying for the one year extension next year, you will do it based on your 12 months proof of income which is for us married guys 40k monthly minimum. I also intend to apply for one year re-entry permit so can come and go whenever I want. In case you stay in the country up to 90 days, you report it to your local immigration office. The only thing that bothers me is the consideration period for the one year extension that takes 30 days because during that period I think we are stuck in Thailand and can't go out. Or is there some workaround for this?

Based on what I understand from your responses is that I can get a one year long extension based on 400 000 thb two months seasoned money on my Thai bank account and then do 90 days reporting in my local immigration office. Once this is done, I can pay for a multiple re-entry which I think costs 3800 thb and then come and go as I wish. Then next year when my extension of stay is to expire, I will apply for another one year extension but this time based on my proof of income that should exceed 40 000 thb monthly. Then, I will again pay for the multiple re-entry and come and go as I wish and report for 90 days in country. If this what I wrote above is correct, then I made a mistake when applied for 1 year non-immigrant O ME visa in Savannakhet because although I was granted a 1 year ME visa, I have to apply for extension in my local immigration and show 400k seasoned. It was better if I applied for 3 months long non-immigrant O ME that costed 2000thb (I paid 5000thb for 1 year) and then do as same as I am planning to do i.e. to season my 400k and then apply for the extension.

Thank you very much for the answer. My current date of permission to stay is until 31st January. I thought that now when I got a one year non-immigrant O visa and the work permit based on it, I didn't need to leave the country every 90 days but needed to do 90 days report which seems is me not understanding this whole thing correctly. Does this mean that I have to go to my local immigration immigration office and apply for one year extension permission to stay? If this is the case, would it suffice to show them the work permit or I have to show them the proof of 400 000 thb seasoned 2 - 3 months on my bank account?

Thank you but I am still confused. Let's try to understand by usin an example. The current visa i have is one year non-immigrant O marriage visa and the date of expiry is 31st October 2024. I should have my WP issued on 8th November 2023 and it will be valid until 7th November 2024. Regarding extensions, let's say my employer wants me to work minimum next 5 years for his company. What am I doing next year before my visa expiration date? Don't I get an extension based on my employment? Regarding leaving Thailand for business trips and coming back multiple times during the next year, are you saying I don't need to get the re-entry permit from the immigration every time before I leave Thailand and pay them 1000 thb or pay at once for a multiple re-entry valid for one year but I just come and go?

Won't I need the re-entry permits anyway? I had a 90 day non-immigrant B visa for 5 years based on what i had a wp and I could choose if I wanted to make re-entry every time before leaving the country or to pay for multiple re-entry that costs 3800thb. I still don't understand what are the advantages of possessing one year non-immigrant O over 90 days non-immigrant O visa if a wp is issued based on each as both of them are getting extended based on the wp anyway.

Yes, it can. I have submitted the WP application today. However, I don't know what are the benefits of 1 year MENO in comparison with 90 days MENO when applying for a WP. WP can be issued on both and latter the visa is just getting extended based on the employment so paying for 1 year MENO 5000 THB instead of applying for 90 days MENO and paying 2000 baht may have been a wrong decision in my case.
