Red shirt leader Natthawut Saikua told supporters the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship would use Government House as its final stronghold in rallies against the government, and urged red shirt members to amass at the site to deter a crackdown by troops.

He urged protestors elsewhere not to clash with authorities, but said they were to return to Government House to secure the main venue should they encounter clashes.

Jatuporn Prompan, another red-shirt leader, told audience at the main rally site there had been a war room meeting between Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and the military. He claimed the meeting concluded it was impossible to block DTV’s broadcasts and the military was unable to control red-shirts upcountry. The Army planned to hinder demonstrators at Government House by cutting food and water supply, said Jatuporn. He added that according to the meeting’s conclusion, top cabinet members and the prime minister were to remain inside a military base. He also alleged the meeting agreed to allow police dealing with demonstrators to carry firearms.

  2. Please show me the evidence where they say "Kill the Prime Minister"

    Or stop posting your nonsense.

<deleted>? What do you think they want him for..to give him a good talking too; like the driver this afternoon!! ...some people on here need to step into the real World..IT IS VERY VIOLENT

Unless it is on record as saying they want to KILL HIM.

HOW DARE ANYONE TRY TO STIR UP TROUBLE by suggesting they have said they want to kill him.

They do want to talk to him yes, they do not want to kill him.

Some people are disgusting in the way they show their bias and make up stories. Imagine saying openly you want to kill the PM. How stupid.

:o:D:D:D:D Some people are naturally fools others have to work at it

  3. How about prison time for those that took over the airport?

Just about the same as a justice finally served on my traffic ticket - irrelevant.

We have a red mobs on a hunt to kill the Prime Minister - that's as treasonous as it gets, and it's happening right now.

Please show me the evidence where they say "Kill the Prime Minister"

    Or stop posting your nonsense.

  4. Already this morning there has been 3 breaking news alerts on the BBC back in the UK.

Tourism is going to take a massive hit at this most crucial time for Thai workers.

One thing is very clear the police, army & all the Thai security just are not up to the job, it is quite pathetic watching this.

Thaksin should have been hit months ago, Abasit can’t just sit on the fence he must show true leadership.

Many of these Reds are pure thugs , many times the women of the reds are telling them to stop

Tonight is going to be test in Bangkok ...there will be more violence sadly

  5. This is bol”c”ks, this morning I have driven from Suk 31 to Pink Lao via Sukhumvit, Rama1 and democracy monument…NO red shirts or blocked roads anywhere.

Pink Lao back to Asoke via Hua lampoon, Rama 4 and Asoke to Soi 31 …NOT 1 red shirt or blocked road

All I can see are closed are Post Office and Gov buildings…this is madness Abasit

Soi 31 all police have gone outside Abasits house the usual 6-8 police

NATIONAL holiday for what..just before Songkran…better start giving away 10,000 baht next as 2,000 just won’t cut it

  6. In addition, the premier said the cabinet agreed to make Friday an additional holiday for the long Songkran weekend, and the government will later enforce regulations to prosecute the wrongdoers.

However, the Bank of Thailand (BoT) announced that commercial banks and the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will not close Friday, because many transactions need to be completed.

  7. 9:30 this morning about 30 police arrived at sukhumvit end of soi 31…they sat around for about 1 hour then a Army guy arrived and started giving instructions to the police..RIOT shields then arrived and stacked on the pavement. (police have been there all day waiting)

About 11am I went down to Abisit’s house for a look; (down soi 31) the place was mobbed by well over 60-80 police and some air force looking uniforms all frantically and quite comical putting barb wire around the upper part of Abisits house fence etc and yellow metal barriers on the footpaths etc

They know there is going to be trouble there, so anyone on Sukhumit & soi 23 –soi 47 would be advised to keep their wits tonight
