  1. Anyone who believes these miniscule measures will help tourism is living in cuckoo land.

Thai from Manchester Mid March (already discounted) is 984 GBP ..Etihad is 424 GBP & ONLY 14 seats sold on both of the 2 flights on my dept date

Until Thailand wake up to cause and effect they will always be 3rd World dumb arse fools

The baht is totally over valued by at least 40% wait for the screams as exports continue to crash

For the previous comments of baht exchange of 25 to the $ (circa 1990) yes it was BUT the costs were in real terms much lower …after the baht hit 43 to the $ remember the massive price increases that Hit and never went back down

Thats why Thailand is now priced out of the market

Anyone who thinks Thailand will only suffer a small loss of tourists just wait another 2-3 weeks ...as many of the New Year Western Holiday makers go back home

  2. Stop over in the Emirates one night (even transit in the airport if it saves even 500 quid it's worth the hastle); all you need is to chage the connection to the UK, possibly fly into a different UK airport with Etihad Manchester would be a good bet.

Booking has nothing to do with Opedo, you only talk with the carrier now as they are the ones that honour the ticket

This is not as difficult as you are making out

  3. All this about cycles is rubbish…why? Because the World has never been in a situation like now.

The US$ is about to be hit big time & the baht is going to be hit Jan09 Why?...because there are less FX coming in like other high seasons …that’s why the baht always drops at songkran, plus don’t forget Thai exports are going down the drain; so no $ in FX payments for exports as the BOT stopped the mandatory US$ only payments for exports….bang!!!

  4. Sounds like all; is rosy in the land of make believe…but some of us who live here actually know how bad things are progressing down the drain; and past statistics that are very dubious; mean absolutely nothing about the future.

Thailand is going to suffer due to the World downturn, the Christmas/New Year peak of 8 days…WOW will be very quickly forgotten by Feb 09

Anyone in business here needs to look very carefully at expenditure as many will need every baht to survive the next 12 months

  5. And of course they would never have died in Thailand if they weren’t here…some of you guys are idiots.

Rushing around Thailand to get to airports.. to get back home... to work…. you know loose your job, mortgage, bills to pay etc etc etc

There has been more than 1 case of doctors stranded that were due to fly back after hol's to perform serious operations ...all had to be cancelled because of the madness here. still if they wern't here blah blah blah..lets string em all up.

This should never have been ..all down to the authorities having no balls to clear the PAD...or dare I say BLOCK THE AIRPORT APROACH ROADS Duhh!!!

    Happy New Year

  6. Correct me if I am wrong, but the police have been given orders to enforce the closing.

Actually it is a Gov request to close for 3 days ...No one needs to, but as always it's give & take LOL

  7. Public liability insurance is just that…. INSURANCE

Nothing to do with City hall etc??; other than a licence compliance.

This is just as the anti music licence dummy’s said would never happen for beer bars (PLI will eventually be required for beer bars even if only 3sqm) …I for one would be very happy to know I was covered as a customer instead of paying hospital bills due to some business operator cutting corners

  8. It is related to the fracas that broke out earlier in the evening with a lively dispute between two foreign bar owners, each which have bars opposite each other. Glasses were thrown, punches were thrown and some very, very nasty threats were made.

I assume the police closed things up to try and cool things down.

That was Saturday at midnight..unless there was a re-run, i was not that piss@d

  9. Same here I won't be changing...very dissapointed as I thought with all the hype this was gonna be the ultimate hatch, sadly far from it.

Did not know about the 7 speed coming later in the year..I think there will be a lot of changes over the next year as sales flop

  10. If you are registered as being outside the United Kingdom for more than 180 days a year you can have problems if medical attention, benefits etc etc is required when you go back to the UK

Also something about less than 180 days over a 3 year period makes you no longer a British resident >>?..I may be wrong about time periods but basically bottom line the UK want to Tax you…they don’t give a cr@p where you are for so called emergencies? …too many Brits leaving the place :o

  11. So no ones got an answer????

I have ..the new Jazz looks cheap compared to last years edition….too many angles on the body shape, front looks like a birds beak ?? strange blobs on the headlights for sidelights, doors open and look too square; again cheap feel..new dash looks ok but not as well laid out in my opinion, ..Nice to have the USB post….steering wheel is from the Civic gear paddles on the steering wheel are not that user friendly (radio controls also now on the steering wheel)

Interior is bigger but when you sit in the car does not feel much bigger (in the drivers seat anyway)

Door trim is not going to wear well..seats are adjustable up/down now, steering column is adjustable also now .MASSIVE DASH...Good if you like to drink in the car..holes for cups everywhere

Engine bay is so small, goes under the massive glass windscreen now. WHY NO SUNROOF ?

2-3 months waiting list at the moment, colors are pretty bland…..white has my vote

Back of car sits too high…..overall I’m very disappointed, Honda have dropped the ball on this one

Overall quality & build are cheap :o

  12. 2008bangkok how long have you been here 1 week?

This is a common occurrence as there are not a lot of AMBULANCES cruising around Soi Cowboy…so door staff USE motorcycles to get staff to hospitals (normally…if a tuk tuk can’t be found)

Epilepsy is a common illness with dancers in go-go bars due to flashing lights etc…I PERSONALLY have sent (carried over my shoulder on different occasions) 3 dancers to hospitals in tuk tuk because of seizures while dancing

Another know it all who most properly has never been to Cowboy..let alone been involved with Thailand’s nightlife for the past few decades…so what would I know fool..the world I live in is Bkk how about you?

Also if the girls was on Yaba she would almost certainly not gone quietly but manic biting of anyone who went near her..again I know from EXPERIENCE :o

  13. What do you really expect on these kinds of VR…service? safety, comfort…you are paying cheap price for cheap service …next time just fly, if it’s not in your budget you really need to ask yourself what are you doing working in Thailand ?

I would be very happy if No one used these visa services as it would make the roads a little safer for everyone

As to reporting this company….come on!! do you really believe anyone cares what you as a foreigner thinks, not to mention the possibility of the driver popping around to see you with his mates :o

  14. It’s not just 30 baht is it brain box!!!~! if you pay at check in it’s 50 baht each flight for EACH checked bag, box, sack etc etc…so if there are a few or a family that insignificant 30/50 baht starts to add up into a CON

Of course on Thaivisa there is always the pr@tt who goes against whatever & you are the one today I guess..go back to your can of Chang, most prob you only use the baht bus or bus anyway

It will be 50 baht to take a p#ss soon
