  1. As long as she has short stay visitor visa to the UK then she is legally allowed to travel to Ireland as a visitor but she must have entered the UK first. She can not fly directly into Ireland so if you were transiting through Heathrow for example then she would need to pass through immigration, out through customs to the landside then check back in for her flight to Ireland in order for the visa to be valid for travel to Ireland. Silly rule really but then most countries seem to have silly visa rules. My missus travels with me this way but I did once fly through Belfast. There is a bus service outside the door to the left to the bus station in the centre where you can catch a bus to Dublin, it's cheap & takes about 2hrs with no border checks whatsoever even when boarding the bus.
  2. How are all the politicians & hangers on going to be able to fly around the world on fact finding missions if TG doesn't get back on it's feet? It will affect the global economy as other countries will not now know that the Thai government is one of the best in the world & that they should study how it's run the country for the benefit of a small elite group of familes who look after the poor of the country as best they can.
  3. He might be only opening the odd day or had commitments (funerals etc) as I actually saw him with my own dodgy eyes.
  4. I drove past this spot today & I'm pleased to announce that he's still there. He will make a brand new pairs pf shoes from scratch or copy an exisiting pair of old ones & twos as well as repairs.
  5. It seems that anything connected with the civil services over here don't like pdf's. I tried doing the downloads page by single page but still had issues so changed everything to jpegs & tried again with success but you really really need patience, I will add that I have an excellent upload & downspeed but it would still only work for me page by bloody page. I had to log off every now & again (children at home, dinner, bedtime etc) so I now have a log of emails from vfs each with a pdf attachment (they like to dish them out) so wondering should I print the final one off for the interview? I assume the biometrics (piccy & prints) are done at the interview. Many many thanks for your guidance h&s!!
  6. When I first read that headline & missed the word "pets" & was wondering why city hall wanted everyone sterisized until I read the article.
  7. Pattaya Tai just a doorway or so up from that busy Turkish kebab shop on the corner of 2nd rd. He's been there years but unsure if covid times have done for his business so ask the local motobike guys if he's not there. https://goo.gl/maps/sKLPuwQ53UgvwMG88
  8. Spinning wheel until it times out. If I reload it drops all the files & I have to sign in again & start from scratch, I will clear my cache this evening & have a few more goes. I don't think it's compulsory to self-load the these documents as long as the originals are brought along to the interview or I hope so at least.
  9. I've tried that as well to no avail.
  10. Thanks once again. I've tried a few time to upload & save documents on the VFS site but it just times out without accepting the downloads. Any advice?
  11. Looking at those links the missus doesn't need a TB test as we're only going on holiday on a standard visitor visa. I got thrown as I was downloading documents onto the VFS portal & there was on section for downloading your TB test certs & I assumed it was a new requirement.
  12. Can any medical clinic issue a medical cert showing that someone is free from tuberculosis? It's requirement now with VFS to get a UK visitor now.
  13. I use shop opposite the big Friendship on Pattaya Tai. They do frames as well coffee mugs, tshirts with your image on
  14. Also if you new crisp 100 they will shave a bit if you are dealing in thousands but you need to ask. The shop on the right hand side usually has one of the big noises who can ok those kind of requests
  15. the yellow TT shops. There are 2 just past the start of 2nd rd on the left & right. Best prices in Thailand is usually superich in the airport train station but you would need to changing thousands to make the trip worthwhile.
  16. No, they are open as are schools.
  17. I've been trying to open the link that Old Git has posted in the stickie about applying for a UK holiday visa to no avail. I've tried changing browsers as well. Is anyone having similar issues & can someone offer an alternative please? I've copied the link in title from his post in this section.
  18. I expect to around Silom & Lumpini
  19. Are the banks open this week in the shopping malls?
  20. 7th floor of Harbourland on Klang. 3rd floor beach side of Royal Garden has a trampolining space & big slide. Harbourland very well monitored so no strangers can get in without children & children can't leave or even wander out without their guardians plus it has a private lounge for guardians to sit in with free wifi.
  21. I'm coming into the big smoke to meet an old pal who's over on his hols so I would like a heads up on what's open bar wise & closing times. Not the 'official' closing times but the real ones. Message me please if you don't want to post it on an open forum.
