  1. Murphy's Law on LK Metro does. Hemmingways in Jomtien also
  2. It was 12am on soi 6 last night but lights out & closed by then. One or two LK the same depending if they paid their protection to soi 9.
  3. It upsets mice but I don't know about rats
  4. If I was in the back end of Issan & had a breakdown then I would rather have a crew that that had traded for at least 15 years with the same staff that would go that extra mile rather that a local franchisee where the staff have no skin in the game. I have also hired cars & driven to Udon Thani & back on a few occasion, I don't anymore as we fly & I hire locally because I can't do that kind of hard driving anymore. Either way these international companies only have offices in a few of the major cities & there is no local version of triple A, the AA or RAC over here as far as I know. I'm only answering the OP's question which was 'Good car rental in Pattaya'
  5. Hertz/avis etc are franchised & each office is Thai run from top to bottom. I broke down once with the company that I recommended about 40 clicks out of town at night & they drove down with a new vehicle & took the old one away.
  6. Try Pattaya Rent-a-Car in Pratamnak between sois 4 & 5. It's owned by proper English gent who has it many many years with staff who speak fantastic English as well. First class insurance as standard. If you're going on a road trip then I would recommend a fortuner or such like as the roads while destroy your backside & back for that matter with all the rattling that would happen in a small car. https://pattayarentacar.com/ Beware of really cheap deals with someone's mate as the insurance might not cover you properly. I have used them on occasion when I've needed a car & the service is impeccable.
  7. Maybe Siracha might have some, there is a area called J-town where a lot of Japanese live. Nigh on all the salmon sold here is heavily farmed & the tuna that I've bought from Big C Extra was nothing to right home about.
  8. I take mine to Dental Smile Clinic on 3rd rd. It's about 30 metres past Pattaya Tai on the left coming from the flyover. There is a trainee hairdresser next to it. Very reasonable & you really do need a child dentist as their teeth are different to adults. https://goo.gl/maps/hF7JUgoLbskGqoiL7 You can usually park a car outside the front door as well
  9. Just so I can get some perspective on this are you saying that this democratic government is selling or already has sold licences to broadcast to another section of the same democratic government? I understood (maybe mistakenly) that this was a process that is supposed to take 2 years to allow others to bid in order to raise much needed revenue for this democratic government. I'm not attacking your post fella as your posts are on point but I would like to know to understand this point a bit more.
  10. That underpass is spot they like as you are on them with no way out. Best to turn towards Bali Hai pier then uturn & go over the flyover.
  11. pounds, shillings & pence. The Pound Sterling.
  12. The government is going to selling off the FM frequencies & a Thai company rumoured to be government backed has already pledged nigh on half a billion buying some up. The people behind a small bespoke radio station like superb 102.99999 can't compete & so if this goes ahead they & most small stations will cease to exist on the airwaves. Up in the heartlands of red shirt territory alot of their news is spread via the airways & a cynic might take a view that this kind of action is a way to shut down voices that the wonderfully democratic government here don't want heard but who could possibly think such a thing....
  13. I'd hold it for now what with the situation in Ukraine but sell here plus the THB is stronger at the mo so you'll also get more pounds
  14. (5) Kick everyone out onto the streets at exactly the same so it's feels like rush hour instead of lettin people drift home like they used to.
  15. It's not an actual law just a mandate, mask wearing is in the same category. I have not been asked for a test result in any bar or restaurant yet although I know people who have been & it was added to their bill at a certain well known place in Cozy Beach popular with the Thai selfie brigade. It is against the law though to ride a motorbike without a helmet but that seems to be ignored now for the most part as long as 2,3,4 or more people riding it are wearing a mask. No issue really seeing as road deaths, especially relating to bikes because they are so low as not to register year in year out, year in year out.... Outstanding 102FM is a local government sycophant but has no choice or it will be shut down, they live under damocles' sword unfortunately for them & us, most times it's an outstanding broadcaster with proper old school dj's & will be a real lose to us if they go under in 2 years time with the threats ahead to them & the expat radio industry.
  16. The main danger would be a punctured lung from a bone splinter but you would really have know about that at the time, time & rest is your friend.
  17. Go down to the railway station on the bottom floor & use SuperRich Closes at 8.30pm As you approach go to the left hand side as that is where the currency exchange booths are https://superrichairportlinksuvarnabhumi1.business.site/
  18. Murphys Law on LK Metro was packed to the gills for the Ireland-Wales game with the commentary full on
  19. https://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/neurological/c_ct_rabies
  20. They did that a year or so ago. City Hall employed a crew to round up soi dogs & they got around 600 in a few days & they where put into a big compound somewhere just outside the Darkside but City Hall had no plan or budget to deal with them afterwards.
  21. Complete & whole societal lockdowns do not work for medical purposes. This will be proved by data studies from countries that do not have an agenda to prove that lockdowns work. The reason that life expectancy & life quality have increased so much over the decades is because of economics, education & enlightenment. A poorer country has less money to educate it's children, less money to spend on healthcare. Populations with less money have less access to better quality fresh food, not much cultural enrichment to help them learn & enjoy their lives as happy people seem to live longer, better lives than miserable people. Imprisoning people who have committed no crime apart from being alive is fundamentally plain wrong. That is just my opinion but I have found lately that some people who disagree with me try to invest a political element to my opinion just because they have a different one to mine & therefore my opinion is not different but just wrong & therefore dismissed.
  22. without a better quality picture showing some detail then it's hard to tell but the higher ups did indeed us those islands & the Thai navy do now, a few are completely off limits.
