I loved seeing russians on their holidays at the 7/11s taking beer from the fridge in afternoon prohibition hours then slapping the exact cash money on the counter & walking out the doors with their well earnt cold nectar under their arms.
You can't do that with cards & phone apps.

Why?

You should have both. You had to have the certificate to get the yellow book. I think of the yellow book for use for domestic travel and the actual certificate as proof for international travel. Heading to the US early tomorrow. Will post what the airline (JAL) wants to see.
They should tattoo use with a bar code on our arm then they will know what to do with each of us & whether we have use.
Has any country tried that before I wonder?

It is obvious that puny amount is of no concern to them.
Who in this world in 2022 does not have a bank card and why?
My bangkok bank card doesn't work despite my complaints to the bank & their calls to the 'head office' in Bangkok to rectify this.
It works as an ATM card.
There are bankrupties & people who have been victims ID theft that ends end shutting down all their credit & debit options which leaves them as cash as the only option then there are the elderly rural people around the world who have never been in the system & don't even use mobile phones.

I was in London over the summer in a famous foodie market & I was buy some cheese & butter.
They came to £5 exactly but the girl refused my money saying that they are now a cashless business.
I didn't have my debit card as it had been scammed so I was awaiting a new one which I explained to the staff.
I pointed out that there was no sign up anywhere & as far as I was aware under UK contract law they had offered the items for sale & put a price in pounds on them so were obliged to accept my money if I had no other way of paying to which they agreed.
They rang up the items on the till by scanning the barcode on them but it came to £6.40.
They then proceeded to ask for £6.40 but I refused handing them my fiver & pointing to the prices tag which added up to £5 exactly.
I told that they had to charge me the price that was displayed & asked them if they had wondered how many people they may have been overcharging & left with my delicious items.
It struck me that people must be charged the wrong price many times with this new tap & pay method because you don't factor the price in as much as when you are physically handing over cash & counting your change.

The next door restaurants had a sign: 'cards not accepted. Cash payments only.'
For small businesses cards and digital payments are brilliant, secure, and efficient.
The taxman absolutely loves digital payments.

Sounds unlikely... probably some distorted news report.
You're probably right, it was on the bbc pages.

This happened to my girl, they were wearing baggy trousers & I must say it's an embarrassment.
I thought it was one step beyond the acceptable & would never be allowed in my house.
Anyway I calmed her down with a promise of a trip so we flew to Egypt & had a beautiful trip on a night boat to Cairo where I nigh had a cardiac arrest when she told me it must be love.
Strange things happen on Orange St but the show goes on.

As of tomorrow morning, the restrictions to re-enter the UK are minimal with just a pre-paid antigen test to do a couple of days after you get in.
Thailand's 'lock down' in all it's manifestations has never prevented people leaving Thailand for the homelands.
Unless you happen to be Australian

That's robbery.
The government should control the pricing as it's mandated now for many many people.

Can you legally be stopped & tested when going about your business in Thailand?
I saw a news report that there is a police unit doing this in London where they have rights to do that.

At last someone who actually read the OP, all pools are off limits when in quarantine.
Wrong.
I did the 15 day quarantine a few months ago & had use of the pool whenever I wanted although there was so much CL in it that you got itch skin & sore eyes after 10 mins

If you want to swim then swim.
You are in quarantine so they can't throw you out & it's not against the law to swim at the moment as gyms & water parks are open if they want to be.

If it's no worse than the common cold, it'll be herd immunity, and that'll be great, we can get back to the old normal.
In thailand everyone is put in a hospital if they are tested & found positive.
Poor thias are put into field hospitals, richer ones pay or are insured enough to go into a private hospital & foreigners are put into private hospitals at their own expense or the the expense of their insurance companies.
Most of the rest of the world only send their vulnerable & sick to hospital when they have rona

I don't know about the DS but there is one on Klang not far from Foodland but opposite.
I sent my missus there & she told me that her instructor reckoned that she was on of the best students that he had taught.
She passed her test after 10 lessons.
I went out for a drive with her afterwards to celebrate & I'm convinced that she was taught by a talking duck.
I still try to give her pointers but I'm told to shut up as I don't understand Thai drivers & she does....

If in Bangkok at Bang Sue. Book on the Dtac vaccine website (I found that one to be most user friendly) and I think you can do walkin at BangSue to get a booster.
I just went on that Dtac website as I am a customer but in the FAQ sections it says that the 3rd shot is not yet available to foreigners.
