I did my 90 day report last Thursday at Jomtien. Put 100 baht in bank to get book updated that same day. Had to wait 10 min or so, then to desk. Had bank book out, didn't need it or ask for it. Wham bam and out of there.
Friend went this morning, no wait, no bank book check for same 90 day report.
Maybe those with problems need to dress a little neater? Long pants?
I think you got things a bit mixed up, never been ask for a bank book when reporting 90 days at window 4!
There is current two 90 day reporting which one are you referring? The one at Window 4, regular 90 days report or the Retirement Extension 90 day report which is Window 8?

What planet are you on? Its hot all the time here in the Pattaya/Jomtien area. If I did have to light a fire I wouldn't be so cheap as to use 1000 baht notes.
You can't teach stupid? or can you?

Every holiday a Thai doesn't have to work it is Songkran time! Fixing the problem would mean less money in the pocket.????✈️

Why are the police involved, this is a civil matter!
You got it wrong! it is a criminal matter attempted murder a weapon was used. Civil is when he finds them in bed walk out and then file for divorce in a court of law? But of course since they live in a road of shop houses poor reason she brought the other man back to their room both not being able to afford a short time room at one of the many " love Inn" throughout Thailand. ???? Both are lucky he couldn't afford a gun and only had a pocket knife.

This is very common, you will also find that those same residents the owners aren't paying their dues?

Sadly, it will take a lot more than keeping an eye!
First, early drinking is embedded into their culture. The parents do it and their parent did it before them. The system is broken, thinking is backward with their leaders! At major stores certain hours you have alcohol sections roped off yet you can walk into a 7/11 and obtain what you need with any noticed that you need to be a certain age or show I.D. to buy.
If that fails you can go inside any local neighborhood mini mart and get anything you need! Thai household you see kids starting to drink as early as 10 years old the parents don't say a thing it is like a passage to man and women hood for them to smoke and drink in front as if it is normal no one ever taught them it sets a bad example.
Whenever there is any celebration they drink until there every drops is gone, that is when everyone goes on without anything ever being said sleep it off for a bit before getting on the road, being responsible doesn't seem to register. It shouldn't be surprising they can't come up with a simple solution.
Especially when you throw the biggest yearly party of them all and make the biggest exception that don't worry just be happy until you die! SONGKRAN you want to see underage driving example!

With all the corruption in this country I'm afraid suing the bus company will only be swept under the carpet.
Yes you are right but my suggestion like so many here is assuming they would care more about their own people and take a bit of back seat to the corruption!
-
You sue the Bus company that would be a good start, then run through their employee records and you will find a lot of drivers that don't have licenses or been trained properly. Employees such as this does it because it is common within the company.

This is another prime example why the entire problem needs to be taken away from the Thai government itself part. The PM needs to impose Section 22 then the W.H.O. need to stop providing money to Thai unless they allow an outside group to impose what is really needed until of just providing money each year this sign are most likely paid by the W.H.O.
You don't continue to provide money for a drug addict to buy drugs so this needs to stop and stop right now funding hoping they will improve the honor system doesn't work neither the driving habits of Thais!
Sadly, they don't actually see what is wrong with this sign it is the habit of the Thai police to tell a drunk driver to slowly go on their way and be careful!

This is so common here in Thailand people have no idea! Let's back track a bit, was he drinking by himself? Where are his friends who were drinking with him? guess they were all so <deleted> they didn't bother to ask others are you O.K.
Lucky he didn't hurt anyone prior to the light and fell asleep, 19 where are his parents might want to have a good talk with them too!

I'm Asian American born and raised in the States. I've experience racism like many others here this is racism just not in the form we are common with. I understand many opinion that this isn't racism it depends on where you come from?
I've live here for near 15 years and I will be the first to admit I'm not traveled all over the world like many but for myself I've never been more discriminated than here in Thailand and double pricing isn't what I'm talking about.
It should surprise no one, a government who just pass a law allowing government hospitals to charge foreigners higher prices, then you go events where Thais dress up in Nazi uniform their education doesn't provide them with any history outside their own country!

Wasn't there a bad incident there not long ago? People using the U-Turn and then having to get over to the left sharp like for the Macro entrance has been mentioned before. Obviously that is the other direction.
There are always accidents on Sukhumvit whether there are turn out for places like Makro. They like to build all these center islands with lots of grass and trees but play no attention in design and traffic flow. I've seen them build so many turnouts and then fill them in because they forget to make special lane for them and then none for merging into traffic even if they did Thais have no idea how to merge they know pedal to the metal straight ahead but when they have to make a left or right turn merge into traffic they basically pee in their panties?
When it comes to Sukhumvit and Makro, the traffic light from one signal light to the signal light at Thappasit like many is about 120 seconds so what you get is drivers (not as stupid as you think) speed over 120 Km/H so they won't have to sit and wait at the next light. Then you got drivers who don't know how to merge or want to get into Makro make turns like turtles and you get an accident!

I really don't think it would make a lot of difference. The driving style here turns most roads into crawling lanes... bar Hwy 7. Sukhumvit is 6 lanes but traffic is often doing 40-50kph. Talking on the phone, trying to find the noodle stall a friend is at (oblivious to all traffic around you) means one has to drive slowly in the middle of the road.
Right, the more lanes the smoother the roads just makes things worse? driving weaving in and out of traffic in their own world thinking others need to look out for you?
The holes the construction is their their solution they are what I term their definition of a Thai speed bump? When it comes to Hwy 7, Sukhumivit traffic often doing 40-50? never seen it, normal travel seem to 80 plus and the reason traffic crawls is because the lights are too long and particular on Sukhumvit there aren't any turnouts it is basically light to light.
Just yesterday I was on Sukhumvit, they block out the turnouts in front of Makro for the New Years and force everyone down to Theppasit before you could do a U-turn. Insanity!

I read only the first page but when you say "we" is this what your wife wants or you just assuming?
Isn't it funny of all the family he comes to you? He is 50,000 baht behind do the numbers like a loan officer most Thai loans are 7 years? Then look at what he does for a living as you know from your posting he is living beyond his means.
You might not think or she hasn't told you but for many reason Thai women have been brainwashed to feel they must take care of the family, you heard it before the boys get a pass, of course I talk in general! Not saying she shouldn't but is she forwarding money to the family?
Based on my experience and living with Thais I wouldn't worry too much about the loan or what they will do to him. Whether from a bank or secondary market. He comes to you now because they are close to coming for the truck usually 3 month they are most likely close to finding him to take it back. Regardless, it will just end up at a used car dealership it is more common than you think.
As for credit, they don't seem to be able to keep track. I live next door to a family that runs the biggest car driving school. I've seen him get loan after loan for vehicles and then have them taken back. My other neighbor is a cop his side job is to track down the customer take their vehicles he rents a back portion of my lot and parks these vehicles until the owners can pay back the loan after a few months they have a number of freelancers dealership that the vehicle is placed for like consignment?
I could write you a lot more as to why Thais do what they do? Whether you help or not is your decision but I wouldn't worry too much about him being hurt even if he borrow from the mafia as they say! The vehicle is his payment!
Thais asked to shower less as drought worsens

Is this the same type of wisdom the Thais officials have? when drunk drive slower? it isn't take less showers it is shorten the shower time, instead of 3 scoops cut it to 2 or even one.????
