  1. No doubt Shinawatra will nulify this new tax system on expats as it will be unworkable as we see in pages of pages expats doing backflips to avoid it already.... Take the money they bring in to spend, and be glad of that.
  2. Yes, you are right - air pollution tends to stay in the same place as we can see with fires burning west of Chiang Mai. The passage of traffic next to a place is going to move road pollution fumes into the place.
  3. Yeah, they can try suing me outside Thailand with an anon. username.
  4. So far in theory, yes. I'd say 'for a time', yes...till they do what they do best - change all the rules.
  5. Not close enough I'd say. All that matters is the immediate pollution metres in front of the place seeping on to the food..
  6. That German buffet in Nong Hoi is good value but hygiene-wise out in that open air next to a smokey humid road it's not the best...so best for buffet value, not best overall. I need to try some of these obscure places when I get back to CM....insane how many restaurants in CM.
  7. all you high rollers with your fancy pants food places.
  8. High IQ leadership and stability of rules needed for such ambitions - so doomed from the outset. More weed pipe dreams...place is a circus for business.
  9. IBOGA / Ibogaine can cure the alcholic urge, but high risk to heart as junkies and alcoholics have heart health risks. I think other than heart complications, it's restricted in many countries as it would fix pyschiatric and hardcore addiction problems in 1-go - and where is the repeat business in that ? The stuff is the real deal...but it can be a 2-3 day peak trip and 5 days needed all-in to get back to earth with monitoring of health. Never attempt a 'flood dose' alone...ever. Legality in Thailand...not clear but assumption it is illegal - is best to er on side of caution..it may be snared in a secondary psychoative catchnet law...think there were a few pop-up clinics that had brief` bad press in Thailand due to said heart complications..apparantly magnesium can lower that risk to the heart during the session.
  10. Across the threads we read, how many active posters do you FEEL there are ? It feels to me like less than 50, though I only go across a few sections of the forum. Just curious.
  11. Reads like an April 1st news article. Welcome to LoS.
  12. Repost ? I seem to remember this "pivot to utopia rant" recently almost word-for word. Edit : Though you might be in luck and the Thai PM reads your blueprint and acts on it..
  13. They are in LoS to avoid conscription. Why would they go back willingly ?
  14. The lighter the colour, the more deadly they are..so light yellow tan = worst. But maybe those not in Thailand. Have had them in the car port before...
  15. Took the words right out my mouth. Dress simply. Be nothing.
  16. Is that one of the English breakfrast buffet hotels ? Just had a flashback to being there mid 2000s on a short trip to see a friend.
  17. Ok, good to know. Thanks.
  18. I believe it does with no direct supporting proof ..family member took it for absolute decades and gone from esophageal cancer. It is banned in USA.
  19. Sooooooooo ironic - the posterboy for weeding out the currupt/illegal activities of foreigners before...
