    Failing your contract, 3 days of advance reservations on booking.com worked for me for METV....unless that has been tightened since last year.

    She's right, I always get faster service than Thais but I am paying double or triple unknowingly to an ear-to-ear smiling Thai....thinking "Stoooopid farang, you deserve it !". Actually joking aside -I always found Vietnam way worse and more blatant on 2-tier pricing.

    Is Mae Sai not open now...that would be easier and cheaper and a more regular out/in same-day avenue. Can look like a junkie pit at times, but man are Burma immigration super nice and friendly..then you u-turn to "America's most Wanted" scrutiny on Thai side...STERN...haha.

    When I inquired about residency cert. last year they were only giving it out to longer term visa holders..I was METV at the time trying to renew driving license...not sure what visa you are on at present..sounds like a dilemma...you might get banking, but not residency cert. at least not without an agent.

    If you think you can survive on £70 a week on unemployment benefit with food costs going up along with heating costs on average £2500-3000 you are joking...it's either food or heat for those breadline...generous...what a joke... My UK place in 20/21 for gas/electric about £1700...now 22/23 it will hit £3000 a year for same useage.

    Haha, yes seen that and they don't follow ever....try that in the west and it would be a chase and some additional rule broken on top of the fine.

    Covid was/is a good dry run for a real bad-ass weaponised virus to show how disjointed/woeful any response would be/still is. The world would have imploded a few notches above covid.
