  1. Kunka corp. is the official distributor and importer of KTM and MV Augusta. I am not sure how exactly they run the KTM shops but in the end the bikes coming from Kunka. Yesterday i saw some farang representatives on the ktm booth wanted to talk to them but they were busy would be interesting, maybe someone else wants to know... I would go for a well priced Duke 690 or SuperDuke in a heartbeat.

If it was this guy I wish you did talk to him & ask

whats up with the crazy prices wink.png

I agree with that, but I'm referencing the point Y99 made. I do like to change my bikes every couple of years, and it can get pricey- as far as the 14R goes, unless they significantly upgrade the engine, I'll be hanging on to mine for a while as I put so much effort into setting it up the way I wanted it- if I buy a literbike this week, I'll be keeping it mostly stock and won't feel too attached to it, and I'd probably keep it for a fairly short time before something else catches my eye, which is why the potential price drop is a concern.wink.png

Agreed it can cost if one changes often. Sounds like Y99 is the buy & hold/enjoy type as he

was not even sure what prices are now. Which is good for enjoyment & value extracted.

On the other hand years ago I would fly to Vegas 3-5 times a year.

There I would lose & sometimes win the equivalent of a bike or two in just a few days.

So the entertainment value gotten from a nice bike is a much better return in that way smile.png

  3. Also no matter what happens bikes are depreciating assets. Not investments

Guys who want to change bikes every year for the latest are the ones that really

feel the pinch. If instead your satisfied & plan to keep a bike for many years

of enjoyment the price swings do not effect you as much.

  4. Ducati wont drop their price like this as the products are excellent quality , and correctly priced in the first place.

The Ducati Monster 796 Corse Stripe many here are excited about this year is now 449k.... Less than a year ago it was 680k

That is 231k off in less than a year

They are all dropping prices which is good for consumers.

Due to improved taxation/trade agreements or being

manufactured in Thailand. But many are just also due to waking up to the reality that

customers were not ignorant that prices here were excessive.

  5. Went ahead and booked cbr650f for now as already 20 people booked the bike yesterday.

What did you think of the cbr650 in person?

It looks and feels quite good once you sit on it.

Smaller than i expected and overall, quality is fine.

It feels like one cannot go wrong as any honda.

For 300 k, the best value real inline 4 big bike imo in thailand.

You don't sound very excited by it?

    I mean fine? smile.png

You know looking at them I couldn't help but notice

the CBR fairings do not look too good.

Although I prefer faired bikes their naked one actually looks a little cleaner IMO

  6. I don't know what deal KTM has with Kunka but I hope someone wakes up at the head office and does something about these cowboys.

KTM is losing sales big time this way.

Or they might be in on it as well?

I cannot imagine KTM in on it. A Manufacturer wants to build a customer base

especially in a new market. They do that by getting a lot of their

    products on the road.

  7. I believe the price list above is for the previous model- someone posting from the show said it was 599k, but I haven't seen any other confirmation.

That is Kawasaki's most recent posted price list

It reads in Thai good from Nov 15th till December 10th this year & is for the Motor Expo

Although it is Sangchai Kawasaki ( Chiangmai )& Maybe Real Motorsport ( Bangkok Kawasaki )has a better deal at the show?

  8. so how do the vendors manage to get their unsold tickets returned and logged in to the sytem considering they are still selling on the streets of towns and citys around the country on the day of the draw. ok, so if the sellers in chonburi (for eg) manage to hand thir tickets back to some central point then the cental point must then inform the national point of all unsold numbers. doesnt seem logistically possible 0 does it? considering it is not electornic.

No way to verify it but I have been told sellers wanting to return tickets have to be back in

by the morning of the drawing 8am.

Otherwise they are considered sold or being held/bought by the sellers.

Electronically scanned back into the system they probably are as all tickets carry a bar code.

I do not understand why you say they would then need to inform the National point of all unsold

numbers as they would already be scanned back into the system anyway.

  9. Actually I was only concerned about sending not receiving here in Thailand

But, since I see some questions I will add my 2 baht

I have received many packages here via USPS priority

The only ones stopped & valued for duties were the ones that were obviously

coming from a commercial source. Also as others have said over 1000 baht/$31 USD

in the valuation section of the shipping form

If you are lucky enough to have family in the US it is far better to have them send what you want

as a gift. On the value section of the international shipping form the write " Gift NCV"

That is gift no commercial value.

Never had a problem with these & USPS Priority

I think DHL/UPS/FedEx etc you get hit no matter what
