  1. You don't get it, do you? It is absolutely irrelevant whether the things you told us about yourself and your girl are true or not... it's about the way you are bragging and behaving... it's the way you talk about your girl, not a single word about whether you love her or not, it's all about her 5'9 and her boobs and her top notch looks... it's your way asking about advice but at the same time telling everybody "if you're not in my league then don't talk to me"...

I am sure, there are dozends of members on this forum who also have a top notch university degree, who are better connected in the top tier society than you are, who have higher and steadier income for more years than you have and who are highly successful business people... so far in the year that I am member here on Thaivisa, with the exception of you, I have not seen anybody bragging about himself the way you do...

    Good am.

The issue of bonafides may not be important to you--an astute person can nominally distinguish between the charlatan, the exasgerant, and the legit--but to many of the chattering geriatrics on here it is. Thus I will prove them wrong by the end of the day.

Of course, i will then be attacked as being an aloof elitist or whatever else but it will make for interesting banter.

Again, not to be rude, but 75% of the responses are not germane to my question. The question is not if I am nice, if I am cool, if I am a vegan, if I am rich or whatever.

The question is: Does anyone have any experience with keeping a high end tier 1 model type happy in Thailand?

Not if I love her or not?

I highly suspect that folks here would not...it's different demographic here...but I felt it was worth a shot as one never knows.

Look, it's hard to impart context in cyberspace. I'm actually unassuming and quite affable upon first glance. I am not a braggart in person. it's evident that i am well educated not broke but, then again, it takes a person of similar ilk to recognize this.

But yea, you are right: my question does come across a bit like like Lady Gaga asking the pizza deliveryman: How do you keep the paparazzi at bay?

But context is important to impart on a messageboard. And the only reason why i was harping on her looks--and she is not really that hot, just a average Victoria Secrets Model--is because it indicates that she has few peers here. And women just dont hang with other women that are not in their demographic.

I wish she was not so tall. I think its her height more than anything else that intimidates the Thais.

    I hope this helps.

And no, i don't think there are tons of ivy league one percenters hanging out in Bangkok. If there are, please let me know so i can go to their networking events.

I never said I earned a high income. Quite the contrary, I don't earn enough...lol..

Ok so the question is how do you keep a top notch best in the world better than all of us top model in Bangkok...............you find her someone of her own standing, the implication being you are not worthy.

  2. Another dreamer, steak appetite and a hamburger budget.

With your monthly running and upkeep costs how many months do you think you will have before she upgrades?

Dunno man. But I will say one thing, flying around the world and staying in Hotels depletes a bank account darn quick. Traveling on someone else's dime is one thing but on your own is a whole different story...especially with no income coming in...i need to taper down expenses.

The visa run to Singapore..on points for that matter..cost me 1300 for two days.

my gf is not a gold digger;she just does not like it here. I have dated plenty of the aforementioned and she is not among them,

Singapore Air asia 5000 baht ,cheap but ok hotel in Little India Opposite Mustafa Centre. Should be able to do that for not more than 15k baht, and I have no idea what currency you are talking about anyway although I suspect it must be bars of gold?

Thats the problem with Raffles or The Fullerton they aint cheap

Just so you know for when the money runs out....................along with the woman.

I used points to stay at the mariott, but the darn booze. We had six mojitos in Clark Quay and it was about..I may be mistaken..but almost 25-30 bucks per drink at that cuban bar there, plus dinner, the night safari, late night snack room service, universal studios, a few bottles in duty free..1300 USD including airfare for two days in Singapore is about right.

Yeah but your moaning you cant afford xyz when you could easily "save" money and keep all 3 properties.

Ill give you 10/10 for stamina on this thread

  4. I was married to an older women 15 years ago , she was 10 years older than me and was a very attractive woman but after many years as you get older it gets harder you start wanting to be with someone younger and do things with younger women .

As you are familiar with Thailand you should hold off and stay as friends as it could become complicated as you can find younger women that you have the same interests and enjoy life together

    Hey hes 21 shes 29 not 99??

Hope his parents appreciate his sacrifice of teaching English with his " very technical degree"

  5. OK The answer is take the spoilt self obsessed brat to a Thai home for handicapped people for the day and tell her how lucky she is not to be born or end up like this, then slap her round the face and dump her if she keeps bleating.

Sounds to me like one of those vomit inducing "Orange country real housewives" type I had the misfortune to watch once on the tv.

You know what. yes. yes yes.

This is a wonderful idea..sans the slapping of course.

i sent her to the Thai National History Museum to inquire about the volunteer program and she met a nice German lady there but seeing the people who are a little less fortunate than her may give her her some perspective.

That being said, i am not debating that she is a bitch and looks down upon people here.

I also abhor reality tv such as the real housewives... likewise, nauseous is the word that comes to mind....but I guess my quandary is how to keep a mini version of that happy in Bangkok...lol...

You have actually watched, "Real Housewives?"

They'd be better off renaming it "self obsessed moronic <deleted> of Orange County" but I do have to admit to once vomittingly having watched it whislt being strapped down to a bed eyes taped open as punishment. plsssss can u forgive me??laugh.png

  6. what are you disputing? that its unfathomable to have a 600 dollar utility bill in Vegas, that i cant afford to maintain three residences, that it's hot in vegas, that vegas is a desert...that it was 100 degrees yesterday in Vegas. That my condo there has crappy insulation?

Look, I am not saying that its Dubai hot 356 in Vegas. What i am saying is that I cant afford to maintain three residences. That's the salient point, not if it was 100 yesterday or 96.

U said its always hot in Vegas I attach website of temps year round in Vegas...........its not always hot.................is what Im discussing, you seem to be discussing something else, good luck with the bimbo, sounds like a lost and useless waste of time to me though.

This is what "always hot" looks like,

  7. I have met expat wives who are unhappy with their location, and if they are unhappy, it makes the whole situation unlivable. And that seems to be happening here. Especially since you appear to travel quite a bit, which can only make matters more worse.

As much as you may love Thailand, it is not going to work for you as a couple. If that is true, and you think that there is a future with this girl, then you should give some thought about why keep your condo here. If you say you are keeping for future rent, but being a long distance landlord is not a good idea (in my opinion, especially if you are rarely going to be here).

I would look at selling the condo, using the money from the sale to pay off the remaining mortgage, and use the extra to allow you to short term rent in the US while you evict the tenant in your other condo. It sounds as though your girlfriend would be happier in more familiar surroundings (e.g. the US) than Thailand.

No, he hates it here too, he just can't afford to move back to the US because the utilities are too expensive.

    Ah, those utilities bills . . .

I was going to buy a BMW M5 last week but then the water bill arrived and destroyed that . . . electricity bill is due in October - dam_n . . .

Bummer me too!!!! always happens as well..................cheques in the postwink.png

  8. I just bought a roll at my local boonthavorn. I was looking for a downspout repair solution and the salesgirl suggested this.

Boonthavorn is raving expensive, checkout Thaiwatsadu or Global house for much better prices, if you have one local.

  9. I would not recommend Sheetrock because it has a paper backing and your termites will munch on that too. I just hung a shera board ceiling and the labor was about 300 baht per sq. meter. Use the thinnest sheet, which is 4 mm. Downside: screws can't be countersunk, so the heads will protrude a bit. A t-bar frame isn't strong enough to support shera; you'll need to use c-channel studs.

And you can use wood in some situations, as long as it's (1) hardwood, (2) exposed and (3) thoroughly sealed on all sides with multiple coats of polyurethane. But for a ceiling? I wouldn't risk it unless every single support wall between the ground and ceiling is visible both inside and out, so that regular inspections for termite mud tubes can be done.

300 m2?? blimey did that include materials, I would have though 90bahtm2 labour only wa s sufficient

  10. It's called a "ta-khab" (takab) in Thai and is a nasty creature. Worse than getting bitten by a scorpion, very toxic. If you see one, kill it. I had this specimen crawl past my feet while sitting at my desk one night. Stuck it in a plastic food container and into the freezer for the night. Then you dry it out in the sun next day and can keep it handy when you want to flighten unfamiliar houseguests.

Not a good idea to kill it they are good for the environment, same with snakes kill kill kill kill baaaaaaaaaa

  12. I had a similar problem, but I just got another girlfriend, a really hot rich red-headed model girlfriend to buy us a big beach house keep my really hot blond airline pilot girlfriend company. Now they can go out and have fun together playing topless volleyball on the beach in the front yard and whatnot while I'm out doing my rich fortune 500 CEO thing. Why not try that?

Or if you're a one-woman guy and all in love and what not you could rent an apartment in the US. But for me, two really hot rich girlfriends is twice as good as one!

    I like your style!!!

  13. Go home to the US and rent until you can evict your tenants, maybe? ..... or try not to be so apparently obsessed with appearance (ref your comments to "hot" people.... models etc) and look more for a person's inner qualities?

Sorry, this may sound harsh, but your post makes you both sound self-obsessed and shallow, IMHO. coffee1.gif

It's not that easy: pay on three places at once...i cant afford it...we both dont like it here but if it saves me 3000 USD per month I will stay here until my tenet is evicted.

i am seeking real strategies to cope with this..not comments on my shallowness or whatever...the girl started crying today when we were in Emporium having a Cinabun.

I have asked her to volunteer but she has not done it.

Slap her round the face................ no better still slap yourself round the face your both as daft as each other

  14. BUT, l do worry she married this guy when you were in the picture, what ever her reason. sad.png

The guy was in the picture long before before I arrived.

This is such a weird situation. but meh we'll see where it goes. I graduate in May and plan to teach English there anyways soooooo......... Tired with these young dumb college girls.

Sounds like they are not the only ones........no offence

  15. I read the world news all the time (not from here).

I can tell you that the whole world seems to be going mad the last 5 years, the things people do makes me lol.

    The end is near tongue.png

    Yeah, isn't it December 22nd 2012 ?

There is no end or beginning

  16. To be honest 20 years ago i lived in a town with a large muslim community ,there was very little trouble they ran the shops and we shopped in them ,never saw a burqua ,then the mosque opened ,downhill eversince ,the place is now a hellhole ,demonstrations ,women covered from head to toe ,now you no longer see white people in the asian part of town where we all used to shop , i for one didnt think about muslims one way or the other ,now lets just say i feel differently towards them.

i also feel quite different when i see a lady in a full burqa. and my wife feels that i feel different. my mistake was that she once overheard me murmuring "i wonder how old she is and whether she has big boobs."

I had one getting mad at me when I complimented her with her 3 beautiful children

Looks a bit of an ole bag to me??
