  1. considering the recommended depth for piling is between 18 and 23 meters around Bangkok I would imagine they are going to connect them together, though looking at pictures not sure how. If 1000THB is for the installation also then it's a good price.
  2. You need to take a step back and breathe a little. Firstly if your marriage was legal and you signed the certificates at the Amphur then any property or assets gained after the marriage are split 50/50, some on here will laugh at that but it's fact and also many have indeed received the 50/50 settlement or indeed more if it can be proved you paid for all assets. Child support is a bit of a joke, if you went to court they would probably award 3-5000THB/month with additional agreements for school fees etc. Your children are your obvious concern and you need to decide who will have custody, as long as you are the legal father you have every right to full custody, again this is easily possible. Lastly just because everyone else will tell you, seek legal advice.
  3. To earn more she probably needs to relocate to BKK or Eastern Seaboard, plenty of German companies. Also contact German-Thai Chamber of Commerce for more info.
  4. Their appliances are fine and i would say mid range. You should visit their HQ just off Sukhumvit 64. Has a nice showroom showing off all their kitchen range that has some great ideas.
  5. Survey should read what items interest you the most so we can send some marketing bumf.
  6. Was only at the design stage and parents will be paying, basically parents group drew up the designs and voted. Designs were fine just the wrong lyrics, as stated they are being changed now and i can now sleep at night.
  7. Agree, this what i had decided to do. However the design is going to be changed now after one of the TA's commented on the group about the lyrics....so i was not the only picky fecker ????
  8. School is not the problem, its the parents ????
  9. How about i add a disclaimer that i won't get upset no matter what you say and you go right ahead and say what you really think ? Or would you have to use naughty words ?
  10. My daughters class (G1) are practicing for the end of year concert and the chosen song is Bruno Mars "Count on me ". Now the parents have decide to purchase some t-shirts for all the kids with some of the lyrics on to wear during the performance, and there have been some design suggestions on the parent line group. However the most popular design has the words "You count on me", the actual correct lyrics are "You can count on me". Not correct right. Now i am seen as the awkward foreigner for pointing out the error, with some parents stating "no problem" in that uniquely Thai way. Maybe i am being a touch picky, however this is an International school where we pay good money in the hope our kids are being taught correctly. Surely having them walk around in T-shirts that are incorrect sends out the wrong message ? What would the teachers think of us as parents. ? Am currently of the opinion i will buy same colour etc but with correct wording, but maybe i am being too picky and should just go with the flow ? What say you ?
  11. In this case i had taken pictures of the tiling before pulling it off again. When he turned up the next day i went through my issues with him, with the wife translating where necessary, albeit reluctantly. I was shocked when i got back from work to see a much better job, not perfect but definitely acceptable. So i asked the builder why he didn't do it like that the first time....just shrugged his shoulders and smiled. I have now bit the bullet, bought my own tools and do my own. Anyone need any tiling doing ? this inflation is biting into my beer budget.
  12. Why don't you just order online inside of Thailand ? Siambury's in partnership with expat foods.com have Yorkshire, PG and Tetley available at reasonable prices. If you combine your order with some other western food delights, delivery cost is not too bad.
  13. Truly shocking, i would personally remove it and the first row of tiles and tell them to do again. A cheap fix is to file the edges round and fill the holes with sealant but will only look slightly better. You can also remove the grout with very fine sandpaper but will still leave scratch marks, Actually you are never going to be happy with any cheap fix, your eyes will be constantly drawn to the edging. Having tiling done here is one of my major pain points, just FxxxXXX useless. I once removed a complete wall that had just been tiled as it was probably worse than your pictures. Was funny to see the contractors face when he returned the next morning to a pile of cleaned tiles waiting to be refitted.
  14. I was a committed no kids person until my mid 40's. That was until i had a long term relationship here with a girl who had 2 kids (only 1 lived with us). Unfortunately the relationship did not work out but it did open my eyes to how much different life with children is, and i found i quite enjoyed the difference. When courting the wife she made it clear she wanted kids so after some thought i agreed. Now the proud father of a 6 year old daughter and have absolutely no regrets. Marrying her mother is a different story ????
  15. There is the family to consider which has me leaning towards the CRV, however it's quite an old spec now compared to the relatively new Accord. Can't decide so just gonna visit a couple of showrooms and test drive both.
  16. Google tells me 47kms, so in reality just a gimmick similar to the Volvo.
  17. Thanks for your opinion, being a short <deleted> the higher driving position leans me towards the CRV but currently not available as Hybrid which leans me towards the Accord. Don't do many long trips, mostly daily commute around the outskirts of BKK, but i do like Golf and DIY so storage space is a consideration.
  18. I chose to let somebody else pay, seems like a better deal.
  19. Getting a new company car in a couple of months and the limited choices on offer are the Honda CRV or Accord. I believe the Accord will be the Hybrid version and CRV will be current (outdated?) model. Which car would you choose and why ?
  20. As Preacher mentions above, there is a charge for the work permit plus her fees. Personally i don't think 10,000 THB/year is a scam, there is a lot of paper work involved. Only thing i would question is the statement that 1 year permits are no longer available. They most certainly are, however surely it's better doing this every 2 years rather than 1 ?
  21. Did you miss the part about "when the mortgage is paid off" ?
  22. Just seen this topic and as my situation is similar to the OP'S thought i would add it here rather than make a new topic. Is it possible the father (who is paying the mortgage as guarantor) remains living in the house with legal custody of the daughter and when mortgage is paid off the house is then transferred to the daughter ? I imagine some sort of agreement must be added to divorce papers ?
  23. Generally Ikea, Index and SB furniture have two levels of quality, cheap low quality or a bit higher price which is better quality. I personally have many items from all three bought at the higher price and can honestly say have had no issues with any item, oldest purchase probably ten years ago already. Of course you will get the snobs on here saying Ikea is just cheap rubbish all sourced from China, but it's plainly not true and if it's value for money your after against style and designer name then any of the above stores will suit your needs.
