  1. Interesting reading the OP and some of the replies. We sent our daughter back to the village in July where she attended the local school until it closed for holidays this month. She will start back at her International school in BKK on Nov 1st. This is grade 1. Goes to show that no matter what the Government announces during it's daily flip flop conference, the rest of the country do what they think is best. For those banging on about it's wrong to let the kids go back...absolute nonsense, get them back and get them learning and socialising with their peers again. Learn to live with Covid or just turn out the lights.
  2. Great advice until you try and fail the verification despite giving them everything you have including the name of the first cat you ever owned , and then you read all the posts on the crypto forum and realise you are not alone.
  3. Why can.t you travel domestically with your 2 daughters, have a 6 year old daughter and have flew 2 times since September when it opened with no issues.
  4. Try Sumitomo Mitsui Auto-Leasing, we lease our company cars from this company,
  5. I would start with 20K for probation period if just finished studies, rising to 25K for first year. Would also include performance/company profit related bonus. If more experienced could try and use their current salary as a guideline, but as we all know this probably won't be true. It's also a common question on application forms to ask what salary they are expecting. Another thing to consider it's quite common to pay a 13th salary in December.
  6. Too many variables to give a fair answer. Where are you based in BKK - accommodation is expensive, so either extra living or travel costs, will drive up the expected salary. What sort of Admin - are you looking for people with experience or just anyone who can speak English. Are you looking at a long term prospect - need to consider what other benefits you are going to offer. Just a few things to think about.
  7. typical. my response to your OP never mentioned the wars you regularly lose, just your comment regarding most people on this forum....maybe go back and read what you wrote
  8. whatever gave you that idea ? such typical American thinking, my view of the forum is a bit more International.
  9. I flew up to Ubon last Friday with Thai Smile. Downloaded the App, entered my details, it had my first vac info on it. No issue with boarding or on arrival. Simple process, can't see what all the drama is about.
  10. Maybe you should stop commenting on topics you have no experience of ?. OP the developer is just informing your wife that if you as the Husband are paying cash for the house then the money must come from overseas. Your Thai bank can assist you with the form you need. The Land Office will also ask you to sign a form when you register the purchase that you have no rights of ownership, may be not correct description but same meaning.
  11. The above is spot on. We have a similar case at work where a HOD has stated all her staff should be vaccinated, however it did not take HR long to put her straight, you cannot enforce the vaccination on anyone at work. Only option is termination but proper procedures must be followed.
  12. In 12 years i have never had to pose for any pictures for work permit application, company is under BOI so this may have an effect. Why would you contact immigration for work permit anyway, is this not covered by the labour office ?
  13. Just not true. Daughter went up country mid July to visit Grandparents, then had the inter province travel ban. The local school opened two weeks ago and they were more than happy for her to attend, as was I. Have read your other comments on schools opening and don't agree with any of them. From what i have seen they are practicing strict Covid measures and that's good enough for me, there is no escaping the Pandemic, learn to live with it. My daughter is thrilled to be back at school, all be it very different to the private school in BKK, am not that fussed if she actually learns anything new. Just the inter action with her peers and some much needed structure in her life is good enough.
  14. Actually you are moaning about it and made sure in your OP that your GF was at fault for putting up some balloons for your birthday. Your OP should have asked how do i repair the marks on my ceiling? And the simple answer is buy some paint and brushes and get on with it....Thai Watsadu will have all you need.
  15. Why shouldn't we be proud of what our fellow countrymen and women achieve, its what sport is all about. There are the talented ones who achieve through skill, dedication and hard work and then there are us mere mortals who for a short while bathe in their achievements before going back to our 9-5 lives. Don't forget these sportsmen and women also like the adulation and all of them will tell you it's far better competing with a full crowd than without. On that note, i will respectively bow out...have commented more on this topic than any other since joining ????
  16. You mentioned not knowing much about the sporting world and the above example kind of proves it. The current premiership product serves for the majority of football fans the worst example of what sport should be about. Getting back a bit on the topic i still don't understand the issue of countries competing against each other, adds some competition (something the premiership doesn't have anymore).
  17. i get your point, but i think for the vast majority of us arm chair, beer sipping viewers we just enjoy the spectacle. I really enjoyed watching the ladies Table Tennis Gold medal match, between 1 and 2 seeds in the world, both Chinese, so i had no skin in the game, but what a game. That's just one example of many events i enjoyed watching the Olympics.
  18. fair reply, however you still haven't really explained why you think an Olympics based purely on individuals competing would be better than the current status quo.. nor how it would work in respect of team competitions. Not that you have to mind...
  19. how bizarre, again how would it work when the team in question requires 11 members ? Regarding nationalism, not sure the Olympics can be accused of that, it's just a great global event where athletes at the top of their field compete against each other, luckily their chosen country picks up their travel bills. In fact all global events are the same be it world cup football, cricket, rugby or whatever, each team competes under their countries flag to their best of their ability. Unfortunately in some countries a minority of fans choose to make it something different. If you believe a sporting world where its just about individuals in my opinion means you just don't understand sport or have never played it.
  20. How would that even work for team events ? who would decide the team members for the Hockey, Football etc ? I thought the Olympics was a great success considering the current climate and there were some great moments from all sports, it also provided great viewing pleasure when stuck at home.
  21. I think your getting too hung up on the employment angle. Although you have not posted the refusal letter, you do say in your OP they have doubts she will return. This is the point you should be focusing on, proving your girlfriend has every intention of returning to Thailand after her visit.
