1. The Redshirts back a government run by the PLO and Hamas. What a surprise.

So....... rednecks do not like red shirts?

Basically the same i would think.

    Red is red.

    An extremist is an extremist.

Of course, extremists would not agree with that statement.

    And yet.

    Les extremes se touchent.

    (as frenchy extremists would say)

Bucholz backs a post by Ulysses that backs the extreme right wing. What a surprise.

  2. There are bad people in all religion.

Catholic priest sexually abuse young boys, Islam teacher caught drinking, Thai monk being gay, etc etc, the list go on.

We all should help to report bad behaviors to make religion a better institution, so that all our faith can depend on.

You may want to read your own post again.

  3. Just a small reminder.

Hezbollah and Iran are shiite muslims.

    Al qaeda are sunnite muslims.

They see one another as traitors of the islam. They bomb one another in Iraq and Pakistan.

They are like uda and ira.

Not clever to mix them up.

Good to mention but they BOTH hate Israel.

YOU mentioned iran as a cancer in afganistan.

Another one talked about shiite reaction to americans pissing on sunite bodies.

I am only trying to keep up some intellectual standards.

  4. I think he is a nice Jewish boy making a good point. He hasn't hurt anybody and is not draining accounts.

You've got hackers? We've got hackers ... so watch out.

    An eye for an eye.

Jews, muslims and christians share the same fairy tales, including this one, that leaves everybody blind.

Cliches are like ... (oh, that's dirty).

I don't know about Muslims and Christians but that pacifist turn the other cheek thingie didn't work so well for Jews in World War 2 ...

that non pacifist not turn the other cheek did not work out so well in vietnam, afganistan, iraq,

  5. Does anybody here seriously suggest a 50 years old man should have a girlfriend of similar age?

You should get some clue how nature works.

    Men age like wine.

    Women age like milk.

I was 56 when i met my wife, then 52.

The sex is something you cannot imagine in your wildest dreams.

I stopped dating schoolgirls just after i left school myself.

    You?

  7. Many years ago I went to Udon Thani with my very first Thai Girlfriend, I rented a car and we took another Thai girl and her Farang.

She didn't take him to her village as she was embarrassed about the age difference, she was 23, he was 70.

She went to her village and left him in the hotel in the City.

Tell us what happened in the hotel Millie, just you and him, lonely souls......

  8. Mosquitos cause more harm to me than i would ever want to cause to them.

I hope karma will get them, but meanwhile i use coils.

You don't kill mossies that land on you?! I'm impressed!

Mossies do NOT land on me.

Sometimes i do however walk in against them.

    When they have bad karma.

  9. who's to say animals are not spiritual beings?

Where do you draw the line?

    Dogs?

    Rats?

    Insects?

    Amoeba?

    Germs?

    Viruses?

We are unlikely to ever know what other animals 'think' but, they certainly cause less harm to our planet than us...

  10. Karma: Just more religious mumbo jumbo that is applied very selectively whenever it suits.

Somebody does something bad and something bad happens to them back = must be karma

Somebody does something bad and they live the rest of their lives happy as Larry = Errrm, ahh, errrrr.

    It's nonsense.

    Sure.

    But there are different kinds.

Have you tried the karma sutra yet?

  11. Hope the ED visas will not be affected by more and more schools offering super cheap visas as their main product. Ok guys, keep pretending that this is not the abuse of the system. Save money and destroy the system. Later you can move to Cambodia, some say it is a good alternative to Thailand so if you do not like Thailand enough get ready.

Walen School - not the cheapest but most reliable.

But but but .....YOU offer FREE ed visas in your ad, and unlimited stay too?????

  12. How would anybody living in Thailand know the answer. There are no real Buddhists in this country -- not even close. They're a bunch of mislabeled animists.

There might be some "real" Buddhists who visit this forum. You might be one of them. :)

This topic is about buddhist being happier.

If you are a real buddhist, your answer might indicate that you are a happy buddhist.

If you are a thai buddhist, your answer might indicate that you are a bitter person.

  13.
It is the cost of visiting Thailand why complain? The government pays a lot of people with that money you think embassies are free? Thailand is pretty easy to get into for a 6 month stay plus I will have almost 600 days in country by the time my current stamp runs out. I think it is a fair price to pay I like Thailand. Try going to America as anyone but a European if you want to complain about needless complications. Like the poster said above if you do not like it don't visit Thailand. It is also not the governments fault if you get robbed at the border.

You did not get it, did you?

Each time i do a visa run, i get robbed at the border.

    By government employees.

Of course, i must admit, i have a choice.

Get robbed by cambodian officials, or get robbed by a thai tout that operates in the queu, right under the eyes of thai immigration.

And guess what, both extortions cost the same price, about double the official cambodia visa fee.

    A cartel.

  14. Why does a thai need a visa for our countries?

    For starters.....

My thai wife got a schengen visa without convenience fee. The visa allows her to stay for ever, even if i die or if we divorse.

She also got an automatic permission to work - not a work permit, no, a permit is something you need to apply for, permission is automatic.

My wife is covered by our national health insurance, even while staying in Thailand.

If she has no income, my government will pay her 700 euro a month.

    My wife will get citizenship.

I consider all this to be normal, after all, she is married to a citizen of my country.

    Now.

I do visa runs, get robbed at the border, could of course put 400.000 in a thai bank, and next leave the country if my wife dies, or if we divorse.

The thai embassy charged a convenience fee of 50% of the price of the free tourist visa.

    I paid 5.000 for a non o.

And to answer your question about why needing a visa.

If 100 europeans enter thailand without too much checking, probably 1 or 2 will stay illegally.

If 100 thai enter europe without checking, probably ................. you finnish this sentence!
