  1. Covid has stopped it now.... When I played in a sports league here I'd follow up the next day with a Thai massage 1-2 hours.... Then the day after get a 2 or 3 hour oil massage to soothe out all the left over kinks, joint, muscle soreness..... It was always a good routine/remedy.... Occasionally, one more relaxing massage during the week if so inclined & nothing else to do.....
  2. I took up intermittent fasting and bought a home gym to work out on = lost 18-20 kilos..... Ride a bicycle a few klicks on a route every day while feeding, watering, curry combing & paying attention to a few nice/friendly & well behaved dogs in our Mubaan who's people seem to have moved away, leaving them behind.....It makes them (and me) happy.... At 6'4"/195cm & large framed, I wasn't pot bellied before, however, it feels much better with the weight off.... I'm around 95-98 kilos now..... I eat about anything I want, so, it seems to be working + holding....
  3. Don't forget there's no infrastructure here for campers & sleeping in a non A/C tin can isn't very comfortable - if even bearable.....
  4. Our oblong table unextended sits 6 (12+ if extended)....We have found tablecloths that fit the 6 position table, but nothing longer..... One option might be to double up....Another nicer possibilty is go to a material shop at your nearest large market & pick your material and have it cut then hemmed to your measurements..... A market like the Worowat market in CM has several shops with 100s of bolts to choose from.....
  5. Two years ago on our vacation to the US my wife spotted a tent city while rolling through Sacramento.... She said "look at all the campers"....I didn't correct her..... We're looking toward an August return for 4-6 months.... I'm not sure what to expect - but, it can't have gotten better.....
  6. Hi Anne..... Welcome aboard....Expect the expected, the unexpected, & almost everything in-between..... When a thread breaks down into bickering, it's time to kick it to the curb ... Have fun with it....
  7. Thanks for the memory..... When I lived in the Sierras, storms used to roll through.....Rain, thunder/lightning, & snow storms...... I had a small extended out front porch with 4ft walls/open upper half..... Just enough room to keep it toasty while stoking up the Weber bbq with a couple of chairs and a couple of cold ones, cooking & watching while the fury of the storms raged around me creating great theatrics and an unmatched symphony..... Loved it there - until the divorce swept it all away.....
  8. FB Market place has furniture although not the same as seeing, touching, feeling.....We dropped by BT about 3 months ago = 90%+ closed + the furniture places that were open were overpriced... Going for the big kill due to low visitor count..... The Teak wardrobes I saw there were double to three times the cost of what I bought over FBM.
  9. We're in San PaTong....We have an open well + a small decorative, stilled water, rock pond with a seldom used fountain right by our bedroom bay window (as does our closest Mubaan neighbor).... I've been telling the wife mosquito, mosquito, mosquito warnings.... Result? We don't have hardly any - don't know why....
  10. You can pay various ways....You can make a bank transfer.... I've noticed that some items/individual sellers? Don't offer a COD option.....
  11. Slept right through it ..... Vaguely remember hearing some loud boomers.... Got up & saw we got a good drenching..... Asked the wife - she slept right through until 8:00 (usually an early riser) & she didn't hear anything either.... San PaTong area.... Update: Just started a hard rain since I started this comment....
  12. Check out Expat Auto, CM....They specialize & certify the vehicles they sell.... Many originated from vehicles owned by expats that have moved away or don't want the hassle of reselling on their own.... I've never read/heard a bad thing said about them.....They also will inspect for you if you find one you would like inspected as part of the prepurchase..... They can also handle the paperwork for you.....

    Car wash

He's right, the CalTex on Mahidol Rd has a car wash that has been good when I've used it..... It's about 600?M away from Airport Plaza going away from the airport....You can Google map it to pinpoint.....
  14. We've had 3BB for over 10 years.... I'm not sure about any ceiling for wifi use.... We've had up to 6 users + a Smart TV in use with no loss in efficiency.... They have always been fast & responsive if there was a problem = 3 times after a big storm.....Our bill is about the same per month as yours....We are in a house though, so not sure if condo services are different.... It was the first long term contract I signed in TH & I believe I had to prepay either for the 1st year, or first 6 months initially.... We've found it to be very good + dependable.....
  15. How does all this pro/anti - UK/USA quasi mudslinging attack/hyperbole dovetail into the OP.....? Total train wreck or just a slight derailment.....
  16. Done by a relative (sis in law) of a friend that I've lost touch with....
  17. With all due respect it's a good bet none of these are mentioned through the media..... Even in other parts of the world (away from Thailand) anything other than the Ukraine situation has been largely relegated to back page, or incidental media recognition..... One way or another the Ukraine will fade away in due time.... It's doubtful that it is an impactful and widely reported item throughout Asia - not just Thailand....
  18. We went with the Mits pump + I upsized it one size above recommended... Mitsubishi pumps are not as quiet as the other top brand but are built better from our research.... We opted for a DOS 1000L tank.... There are times I wish I'd jumped up to 1500 or 2000 liter.... We are a single level 3 bed/2bath house with 2 to 4 of us depending on school schedules..... This system has met all needs EXCEPT when the muni water supply is stopped without forewarning & then the 1000L can empty quickly with 4 people using showers, washing machine, etc ... That's why I wished we'd gone bigger on the tank size.... If you have a large garden with daily watering take that into consideration..... My wife drained most of the tank one time watering not realizing the muni supply had been shut down for maintenance (we do have a well & submersible pump for the garden but that pump failed & another was on order).....But that made me aware of how much was used for the gardening..... Edit - no idea why it decided to go bold....
  19. Yes, as I mentioned in my 1st comment..... It's a style I liked in my ball playing jersey days & was pleasantly surprised to find it popular here..... My daughters wear my old jerseys for nighties & lounging now....
  20. This is the collar style of one of the ones that I had made....This is 8 plus years with about once a week wear....
  21. I like the Thai pullover collar the neck part never stretches out of shape or frays with time/washing/age..... I had 17 made for me years ago to my specs & they are still going strong..... Like a Henley style collar..... I believe the cost at that time (8? years) was 350-400B each.....
  22. I cancelled one time because the transfer would have been instant & made it fall into the wrong month.....I did it instantly after seeing what would have happened..... The money took about 6 days to be credited back = instant out/6 days to cycle back.... I used to always transfer on the last day of a month knowing it would hit on the 1st....This transfer taught me not to.... Coincidentally the money I moved the next day to cover ended up routing through another bank & then going the Bangkok Bank which screwed up the international coding on that transfer/deposit....
  23. I'm affable & completely competent in my ability to engage in light conversation..... I can go full on cocktail party mode...I just prefer/choose not to.... Brevity is just fine for me.... That's on the farang side of things.... According to my wife I give too much of an answer/explanation when asked a question.... She's usually looking for a quick yes or no response......
  24. Well - right & wrong....I had a shop in mind had he been in my area that could assist..... I'm retired auto service industry - Lexus.... I would suspect a dye test had been performed + a vacuum pull down, as well as a sniffer test in the dash area..... It's typically going to be a small leak somewhere = it's locating it to make the repair....Every step is going to have to be repeated.... Hopefully, someone in his area has a decent shop in mind.....
  25. What area are you in....It would be helpful to know/advise/refer ...
