If guilty, off with their heads. No wonder foreigners are getting a bad rep here in Thailand.

I hope they do it more often and catch everyone (foreign and domestic) using illegal drugs and send them home or to jail. Only the users should object to these tests. Wish they would do the same with the drunks coming out of the bars and getting into cars and driving. Complainers don't have to stay here. One moment the posters complain they don't do enough here, and the next minute their compaining that Thais are trying to make their society better by actually enforcing the laws etc.

Totally dysfunctional Gov. The Thai people would be far better off if the Military ran the Government. Things seem to run smoother and safer. I hear this from Thais all the time. Let the military run things and get rid of the corrupt Gov.

Not to mention how those stupid Thai soaps make the men look like imbeciles!

It's not just the E.Q., but I believe I.Q. as well. Even the University students can't seem to control their talking and poor behavior, let alone do ANY critical thinking. They seem to feel if they come to class now and then they will sqeek by enough to barely pass their exams to get their piece of paper. What they still don't fathom is that their piece of paper calling them a graduate won't help them get or keep a job.

If they are still living off Mom and Dad at home putting their hand out to receive money for their material pleasures, they'll have more time for Sanuk on Face Book and social activities at the night clubs. The education and training must start at home with the parents for their to be any changes.

Once again it is the tendency for society here to blame the education system and/or teachers for what their kids aren't able to achieve. Sad.

Did anyone actually expect it to work? Hope they didn't spend a lot of procurment money on it.

You sound like a Thai with Thai mentality who always finds a way to blame the victim for not doing something or not being somewhere else when something happens. If not, you fit right in here!

More despicable violence against tourists in the land of smiles. Time all countries put out travel warnings against coming to Thailand until something real, instead of talk, is done. Come to Thailand we want your money, and by the way, take out some good medical and death insurance so you can pay our expenses if something happens to you here!

I obtained a SCB debit card and savings account that she uses monthly in China with absolutely no problem. Account is in her name and she is 16. I've used my SCB debit card overseas too and no problem.

In Christopher Robbins' Air America, he writes of one American pilot's experience in evacuating refugees during the fall of Saigon and the Thai attitude:

Agree. Thailand is like a giant ostrich with its head in the sand. Don't ask for skilled outside help, balme the problems on everybody and everything except Thailand, are dysfuntional in decision making and strategic planning, etc. etc.

Guilty or not guilty, take a long look in Thailand of the way the vans, trucks, and school buses drive recklesly suddenly cutting you off when they have the entire fastlane to by on on. If you have driven here in Thailand any amount of time, you have experienced it first hand. This is not a comment about her being innocent or guilty, that's up to Thailand.

Is anybody really surprised by any thing in the above article?

Every country should highly publicize these crimes and ALL put out travel advisories and keep them running until Thailand cleans up their despicable crimes against tourists. The only time Thailand does anything is if they get a lot of bad foreign plublicity or the money made off tourists is cut way down.

If the truth be told, it's not anybodies business if he had travel insurance or not. That's not what this news article is all about. But I guess it's good for the count!

Be careful about carrying certain items and liquids in your hand carried luggage. They are regulated and also you are limited in amounts or they will take them or require you to leave them behind. There used to be posts warning of security people taking items away from passengers and then keeping things like perfume etc.

As long as you have an one year extension based on marriage you can get a WP. If based on retirement no you can get one.Have never had a problem getting a WP with a one year extension based on marriage. Still requires paperwork from your place of employment, picts, etc.
