  1. What about the gogos that babe been gogoing all day for years on lk metro. I guess they don't count.
  2. 90 day reporting for non-b An extreme example: You need to leave the country for 2 months but you see about 5 weeks into that period a 90 day report is due. Flying home to report like a good little boy is not an option. What do you do? I read you can get a authorised representative to do it for you with copies of passport and all the documents? Thoughts and solutions welcome.
  3. A few years ago I opened a satang pro account (while on TR visa) and put a few thousand in there. All with no issues. I did trades. Bought/sold. Deposited and maybe withdrew (don't remember). Anyway a couple of years later I ended up renewing a full passport and contacted them of my own volition to update it in there system. As you do. They said thanks and you will need to do the KYC again with the new passport. Only this time it was different. They sent through a document via google docs which was a bit more intensive than the KYC done when signing up. Notably this time it required a non-imm visa and a work permit. During initial sign up KYC this was not needed. I had a crew visa at the time and no work permit. It's not a very common visa so I sent it through anyway thinking maybe they would get confused and pass it. They didn't. This is annoying but I thought, whatever, I will just leave it all alone until one day I get a non-imm and work permit again. Now it's another couple of years later and I actually have a non-b and work permit processing at the moment. I received a call from them about a week ago. The lady mentioned I need to do KYC again. However, this time the reason is due to the change in Thailands regulations on financial institutions. They require a face scan. Much the same as the banks are rolling out. The difference is Satang want you (foreigners only) to travel to their Bangkok office to do this. For Thais it seems to me they are outsourcing the KYC to a company called NDID (national digital id). I find it ludicrous that a company would expect you to travel halfway across the country to do a face scan so you can access your money. That's exactly what I told them via email. There response was an ignorant "we do apologize if our services might not meet your expectations. However, we will continue improving our services in order to fulfill the customer's needs and desires" I just told them I will wait for them to improve. I'm not that fussed with it. It's just annoying. So this post is just a heads up to people using or thinking of using this exchange and also I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and found a solution with them.
  4. wounded /ˈwo͞ondəd/ adjective inflicted with a wound; injured. "a wounded soldier"
  5. Imagine the thousands they'd make if they bothered to enforce this on Thais as well
  6. I called both scb and kasikorn a few days about this. They both said the same thing basically. Not available for foreigners yet. Scb were weird about it. It's like they ignored everything I said about face scanning for two minutes and tried to put words in my mouth "so mister you want to create an exemption in the system right". I refused this based on how keen he was on me doing it. They said they will release an update soon for the app so foreigners can do it but no idea when yet. I'm not holding my breath. They said the same thing when I called a couple of months ago. Kasikorn was much the same. As for updating passport. I updated mine at a different provinces kasikorn and scb about a year ago with no issues. Bangkok bank sucks and closed my account with them months ago. They were incredibly difficult to deal with.
  7. Give it a rest Constable Savage. "Writing a book" "Being heir to a share of a dormant company" "Possibly knowing about a possible problem possibly prohibiting him from PM" What next? "Running for PM with intent to be a PM" "Smelling of a foreign university" "Walking around with an offensive smile"
  8. I just bought a condo myself. I declined the much touted rental pool program. I don't really understand why anybody would join. It seems very convoluted and you have no real idea what's going on with the money. You can't login and see where every baht is going and just have to have faith some slimy people are not ripping you off. I found a company to take care of daily rentals and can login to the system and have full control. Totally transparent and higher return. Not locked into a contract (1 month notice to get out). Can stay whenever I want, provided there is nobody booked.
  9. All for it. Yet they felt a lot of pain during covid. If you remember - woe is me, no farang, no job, no food. No life skills whatsoever. Did they learn anything? It was a great opportunity for them to appreciate the tourists that they rely onto survive and fix a lot of problems with the system. Yet the moment tourists returned so did stories of overcharging at the airport. Now we're back to getting attacked with iron bars.
  10. Nice. Now he can be free and relax on his 1 metre of chain
  11. Like I said twice already. Not my cup of tea and it suits some ppl more than others.
  12. Ok. I chatted to them in line about six months ago as I was under the impression if you bought it you can leave the visa and resume it whenever you need it. That's not the case unfortunately. I assume the license is the shorter 1 or 2 year tourist one? That would be a downgrade from my normal 5 year one. I'm sure it's good for some people but doesn't suit my situation
  13. I really wanted this but to be locked in as a tourist for the entire period is unacceptable. If you want to get married or start a business or work you lose the whole thing. If it lingered in the background and you could return to it, it would be ok but to be unable to officially open a bank account or get a licence and all those things it's really a burden in my opinion. Everyone's different though. It would suit some people I'm sure.
  14. You should 100% be focusing on divorce and getting away. I've been in similar situations where I've had to hide the knives or call security but not regularly like this. Talk to a lawyer. She don't like lawyer then too bad. Also in these relationships sometimes you get stuck thinking you can fix it or oh I love her still etc. Forget that. Get out before she hurts someone.
  15. Over the past 3 years I have given around 15 - 20 litres. Perfectly fine blood that Thai hospitals have literally just thrown in the bin for no reason. Whilst other countries use this blood with no problem. Other people I have met on this forum have had the same issue. It's incredibly frustrating. Have I volunteered yet? Educate yourself before making ignorant comments.
  16. Yet Thai hospitals throw away the blood they take from people with Haemochromatosis who regularly visit to get therapeutic Phlebotomy/Venesections. Not the case in other developed countries.
  17. I mistakenly walked into one of SCB's investment only branches about a year ago. While I was in there I asked about buying stocks and she just said no can not lol. I have a feeling it can be done however anytime I try to open anything stock related in the app it always hits a brick wall and says "Thai Nationality" only. Other times it says to visit a branch. Probably for the better anyway as the documentation would no doubt all be in Thai and given that some banks try to fleece you with insurance every chance they get I am not sure they have the integrity to be managing my investments. Especially considering you can just invest in your home country anyway. I will say though I have never had much of an issue with SCB compared to Bangkok or Kasikorn banks. Normally they are pretty good.
  18. "Mind the walkway".. "or I'll eat you".
  19. From chat gpt and picture circulating labelled "secret" in red: Accidents involving moving walkways are relatively rare. The frequency of accidents can vary depending on various factors such as the design, maintenance, usage patterns, and adherence to safety protocols. The majority of accidents on moving walkways are minor, such as slips, trips, or bumps, and often occur due to user error or negligence, such as not paying attention, running, or engaging in unsafe behavior. Serious accidents are rare but can occur in exceptional circumstances or due to mechanical failures. Overall, when used properly and with caution, moving walkways are a safe mode of transportation.
  20. What's the difference between this and a 2yo having a tantrum. Not much. Does he cry like a baby as well.
  21. Ok folks "God save the Queen"
  22. How many violent incidents is alcohol linked to? Just curious. Weed = 2 Alcohol = ____
  23. Ah so in other words starting to use the traffic lights correctly the way they're supposed to be used
