  1. I remember when they did my first one the pile of documents HR had for the application was about 20cm high. I normally prefer to do these kinds of things myself but for this one i'd be happy to let an agent do it
  2. I used to enjoy the bar scene years ago. It started to get quite boring and sad really. The Disneyland phase when you discover Thailand. Sitting in a bar with fake friends who wouldn't piss on fire to put you out. How boring and lonely is it to go into a bar, buy a beer and sit looking out to the road hoping some chick will come and chat with you. Taking girls home that are gone the moment you stop paying. It's incredibly unfulfilling and sad. When I got married it totally changed me and I stopped everything. Even after divorce 6 years later I don't want to go back to that crap life. Now I keep a shelf of good quality whiskey basically to admire and have a glass or 2 on special occasions very rarely. I literally can't stand sitting in bars now. It makes me feel miserable. When I ride by and see some old dude sitting alone with a beer staring into nothingness in the middle of the day it looks sad and incredibly boring. The only time I make an exception is when a friend from home visits and wants to do the whole tourist bar scene thing. Then I kind of put up with it. I almost despise the scene. It's disheartening that 90% of the girls in dating apps online are bar girls/prostitutes or have a penis. I get that lots of expats are happy to sit in bars all the time and have other expat mates. Not my cup of tea anymore
  3. How stupid can you be? To steal a bright pink bag in an airport. Generally one of the most secure locations in any given country. You literally just need to stop and look around and you can normally see cameras everywhere throughout. He comes from China. He should be well aware of comeras and surveillance.
  4. This is sick. Guy should be strapped in and get what he gave.
  5. Cbd oil. If you Google 3000mg cbd oil there's a brand called seya. I've used 2 lower strength brands. 1 good and the other just ok. What I've noticed is putting 5 drops under my tongue before trying to sleep can mess with my throat a bit about an hour later. Next time will try seya as 1 drop of that should be more effective than 5 drops of the weaker one and less throat business I reckon.
  6. I guess everyone's different. I work on a boat and when underway at sea these are often left out in the crew mess for people to use. If not they are always in the medical cupboard. Years ago during a rough crossing I tried to take them for a few days and felt very cloudy with a bit of a puffy face each morning after using them. Most other crew seemed to have have the same experience. They do make your super tired though.
  7. The most irritating pipsqueak I can think of in Thailand. If his content had anything vaguely intelligent, entertaining or appealing it would be ok but it's just childish garbage.
  8. "Thai couple had a big cone and freaked out" Must be a slow news day
  9. Check bin after every drink is a good rule of thumb. They stop pestering you for drinks as well when they think you're paid up about to leave
  10. I called scb and kasikorn about this a couple of months ago when news surfaced. They both said not for westerners at that stage but we're working on it. The only difference was scb were limiting to 50k and kasikorn weren't. Sounds like that has changed. I have still recieved nothing to say go and do it.
  11. This particular curve is not sharp as mentioned. It's just a normal road with 2 or 3 lanes. However it's very busy and the inside lane/shoulder vanishes in an instant. If you are not familiar with it or paying very close attention it's a bad situation.
  12. Gullible!? Is there not an amulet to protect against scammers?
  13. I got a thing from lazada for like 100 baht. Now I have endless cards and rfid keyrings.
  14. As above - Getting one myself soon. I was told by an agent no need to leave the country.
  15. This can go 2 ways - Nothing changes for the average customer in Phuket and we just get another grossly overpriced greedy hospital. Or It creates a bit of competition for bkk hospital and makes them reconsider the way they take advantage of people. Regardless the situation of bkk having the monopoly in Phuket can't get much worse. So i guess it's a positive. They won't be able to buy them out like they did with the old Phuket international hospital a few years ago.
  16. Oh that's a relief. Thank God he's Thai. I hope all Thai people's honor has been restored and they can now get a good night's sleep. Total BS
  17. I already had a belief that the soul lives on in one way or another. However, for me Einsteins theory of relativity proving that energy cannot be created or destroyed confirms this. Some consider our soul/lifeforce to be an energy. Regardless of what you believe our bodies are full of electricity powering our nervous system that can only be transferred and not destroyed. Take it as you will

  19. How could this be? I suppose when "Phuket Taxi Drivers Asked to be More Polite to Tourists" 8 days ago they didn't ask nicely enough? Really strange. I thought when you ask criminals to stop they just... stop.
  20. Totally different moral standards. Where I come from intimidating and being violent and physical with a woman is mostly unheard of. It just shows that you're a immature coward with no balls. More so there is a pride and feeling of moral obligation to protect woman. I couldn't even say this is behaviour that you would expect from a primate. Even they seem to show love and caring to those around them.
  21. Never done one of these stupid things during my ten years living here and never had a problem. Been up down and all around. In and out every little nook and cranny of this country. There was only 1 time that I know of where a condo agent pursued this thing and I believe did it. If it wasn't for this forum i wouldn't even know it existed. I imagine 90% of foreign people in Thailand have no idea also. How would anyone know about it if Thai authorities don't tell people? Or did I miss some fine print somewhere during the entry process.
  22. I met a well known Aussie guy in patong years ago. He told me he did this with his Harley. He said it was a mistake and the bike was never the same after being rebuilt. Ten years ago now.
