  1. You mean the online content is interesting? What can you see? Please elaborate.

I guess if the firmware works with that brand/model you would be able to flash any media player with the same Realtek chipset.

    Probably, yes.

Everything I'll ever need is there, just that I can't get most of them to play. Max HD and CNN international are the only ones in English I can get to play flawlessly. Eurosports plays but with a lot of effort. Russian and Brazilian versions of HBO(2), CN, Nat Geo, Discovery. Many other sports, movies and entertainment channels from Ukraine, Russia, Italy ( Italiasports ), Germany, France ( France 2, France 3, France 5, TV 5 ) Spain, and Portugal ). UK and American TV channels are there as well.

I can get more than twenty of the seventy two Arabic channels available to play, so my Arab friend has borrowed my box to try out before buying one. Plenty of Indian TV are available, too.

I know my TOT connection is crap because usually, I can't even stream contents from youtube without stuttering. Hope this helps.

  2. If there's anyone with the above media player, then with the Romanian firmware for AC Ryan 73200 installed, you'll have no need for True Visions, openbox, dreambox, etc. You'll be surprised at the available contents.

The only problem you'll have will be your ISP's reliability. My 10mb TOT subscription can't really do much.

  3. If this guy is not being a <deleted>, and raising, in his humble opinion, an issue he has thouroughly thought through, lets just consider;

Making use of a foreign husband, however, are you going to enact any legislation to make it easier for foreign husbands to stay?

Or do you just want them, the dopey rich farangs, to get married, and then piss off back to farang leaving an ATM card for all expenses of their spouse, never to bother Thai soceity again except for the occasional brief holiday were the farang will be barely tolerated.....

Much like telling all poor women they should consider prostituting themselves marry for money only. blink.png

I was told by the consular officer at the Thai embassy in vietnam in 2005 to get married to my then girlfriend and take her with me to live in my country.

"Don't stay in Thailand after you get married. Take her to live in your country." Those were his exact words.

  4. What border was this? I've never heard of such a thing as an immigration closing when they see someone coming from the other border.. How far is the distance between the two borders? Seems the officers from both sides would have seen you in no man's land upon exiting MY and not being allowed into TH.

Happened to me a long time agowhile I was traveling to Stung Treng. Exited Laos, but the Cambodians said they were closed and directed me to their over priced lodge at the border. Next morning they refused me entry on the ground that I exited Laos the previous evening. I pointed the fact to them that they said they were closed the previous evening and that we all slept and ate at the same lodge. They told me to go back to Laos to get a new stamp but I pleaded with them and they asked me to wait outside. Half an hour later, I was called into their office and asked to hand over $ for an entry stamp.

  5. Service provider? Service type? Line characteristics? DNS settings, Ping/Traceroute results? Websites? FTP results? BT issues?

Without a lot of detail, these threads are an exercise in futility; you'll get three people having issues and the other 6 million who have no problems will not post.

No issues on the ~ 12 True DSL installs in metro-Bangkok which I support.

    Provider/Service: TOT 10/1 Home Internet

    P.DNS:119.46.240.3 S.DNS: 203.113.5.130

Almost all International Websites have a problem.

Speedtest: Bangkok: Ping: 75ms, 7.34mb (Down), 848kb (Up) Not to bad but usually around 9.3mb (Down).

Speedtest: NewYork: Ping: 331ms 0.07 (Down) it takes so long I gave up so I'm not to sure the upspeed.

The Internet usually has speeds of: Ping 26ms, 8-9.5mb (Down), 800-900kb (Up) and never usually has an issue.

    Same package, same problem here.

  6. Do you have to sign up somewhere and login to get this free Wi-Fi?

    Sent from my HTC phone.

Well otherwise, all and sundry could write all sports of nasty things and no one would be any the wiser. Legal nightmare.

My point exactly. So, where do you sign up for this free access? Has anyone ever seen a free access point?

    Sent from my HTC phone.

I signed up and used it last month, but couldn't do the same two days ago. You should see, "ICT_FreeWifi." or something like that.

  7. Still have not given up on the thought that the right Person reads this Topic and can point me in the right direction.

I believe your girlfriend or wife should be able to look for the invoice for you. If I were in your shoes, my supervisor at work would be able to do it for the right price.

I hope you're able to sort it out. Good luck.

  8. I think the one to Phet Kasem Soi 69 didn't last long as it wasn't viable. People shunned it and I for one would have used it since there was a stop just outside my apartment building at the time, but its schedule wasn't properly planned. There was a school on the opposite site of the canal from my apartment, which would have encouraged proper schedule planning, but alas, TIT.

  9. I intend to get the NETGEAR Wireless-N 300 Router with DSL Modem which gets get reports on signal strength. However I cannot find this brand in Thailand any longer so I have to wait until I am on my travels again.

There's a Netgear right now on CL for 500 baht or best offer.

  10. Using TOT for the first time and I can say it's the worst ISP in Thailand. My installation was done just one week ago and I was only able to use it flawlessly on the day it was installed. Since then it has been crap.

Can't stream movies or download torrents. My mobile phone and notebook ( running ubuntu ) can connect to the wifi, but nothing comes down.

  11. You would not be on an overstay because they consider they under consideration stamp as being good for ever the date is just the day to check in. Most offices will give you new stamp and date but others don't.

You could wait a few days and return to the office to check on your extension and ask for a new stamp because of your concerns.

Correct. Happened to me three years ago. Waited for an additional two weeks.
