  1. Sai 5 area on Phet Kasem road was still heavily flooded as at last night and there weren't small cars driving around. There's a way around it, which is driving to Samut Sakorn from Rama 2 road, but it's hard for me to describe. The exit unto Phet Kasem road is Thetssaban 15 ( Soi Wat Thian Dat ).

  2. Actually the worst - as was outlined on home page of Immigration site on the border with Cambodia - is you would be arrested for illegal entry, detained and sent to Bangkok for deportation. This had evidently happened in the past when Cambodia refused to allow entry after person departed Thailand and they had to return without a stamp.

If you're denied entry into Cambodia, the Thai immigration will cancel the departure stamp you received previously and staple the departure card back to your passport.

  3. Thanks WB.. Yes you're correct...

Sorry for my mistake... Should be (now suspended) Transport Perm Sec., not Transport Minister...

And yes, the 65m figure still missing figure you mention corresponds with the earlier reports of 100 million total supposedly involved...

Although, one of the prior articles had a police spokesman saying the robbers already in custody talked about one guy among them getting 35m, another 25 or 20 m, and another 10m or something like that....

But those are the alleged robbers... What about the amounts that supposedly were supposed to go back to the politicians who supposedly ordered the theft in the first place?

Yes ... there was talk initially of 200m being stolen and up to a billion being there in the first place.

The link to the politicians is purely conjecture at the moment. At first it was disgruntled employees that were reported to have set up the burglary.

That's exactly why the whole thing doesn't make any sense.

  4. Thanks for all reply's.

How it can make by mail and from what website and to what mail address?

You have to fill out the 90 Days reporting form ( TM 47 ), and send along with it in an envelop addressed to the immigration:

    - A self addressed stamped envelop ( about 10 baht stamp )

    - Your last 90 DAYS slip

    - Photo copies of;

    1. Departure ( TM ) card.

    2. Photo page of passport.

    3. Page containing last extension stamp.

Find out the address of the immigration office you intend to mail it to. For Chaeng Watthana:

    IMMIGRATION BUREAU (90 DAYS REGISTRATION)

Government Center Chaengwattana (Building B, 2nd floor) ,

    No. 120 , Moo 3 , Chaengwattana Soi 7

Chaengwattana Road , Tungsonghong Sub-District, Laksi District,

    Bangkok 10210

  5. Of course,I trust them ;)...but it's about locking yourself out of any better(or worse) possible deal,I guess.I don't like this one sided offer and was asking,if anybody else got anything better?? I remember when Mitsu offered 0% interest with 40% down and this will be something interesting,or even 1+%.but here the interest doesn't change after 25% down or more(locked at 2.85%).I hope this can change between particular dealerships...so is there anybody out there, who put up the deposit already, with some better info,or deals??

The Nissan web calculator shows an interest rate of 2.79%.

    N.B. That's for payments covering 48 months.

  6. Compared to the March:

The top-spec Almera is only 42KG heavier than a top-spec March, so performance-wise it's very close between them around town, but the Almera does a littl better at highway speeds due to it's superior aerodynamics. The Almera is quieter on the move, has a more comfortable ride (edging towards mushy), and has tons more space/practicality.

It's a hard to ignore if you're shopping for a lower B-segment car IMHO.

Sounds good....but I'm thinking about this little engine and all the new technology, how long will it last ?Also the transmission is something new and sophisticated(xtronic cvt??)..I've asked about it at the dealership, but those kids there don't know anything more than the brochure says...since I don't know much about it as well, always try to learn some new things...still have to wait for the delivery until January(been told),so there is time to think about it....I guess there is nothing else new in this category coming soon,is it ??

Just out of curiosity,if somebody wants to go even further in fuel economy(this one tested showed 12.8 km/L in city driving),is the conversion to LPG/CNG still possible(except the guarantee issues) ??...Thanks like always MRO...

I think it's possible. As I've given my newly LPG converted car to the ex as it's in her name, and I'm in the market for a new car, I'm definitely going to buy it and have it converted to LPG immediately.

  7. in the meantime we will have to hire teachers who just have English skills until we can find qualified teachers who have both English and English-teaching skills” Mr Jian explained.

One of the reasons they have a shortage is the quote above. Hiring and firing isn't going to help. Most schools I know do not have any retention policy. They always fire teachers at the end of the semester, only to start looking for new ones at the beginning of another semester.
