The sheraton is way better than the westin if you are not worried about pricing.

Good restarants and bars and a lovely pool area.

Thanks for the advice folks (especially Chutney as I was looking at east coast destinations without realising it's the rainy season) 

I've narrowed my Bangkok hotel choice to one of the following:

Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit or

Westin Grande Sukhumvit

Does anybody have any experience / knowledge of either of these?

Me? I am a fabulously thin 23 year old, 38-25-36, long legs, red hair and an IQ of 180. I thought about running for Miss America but decided that I really didn't need that kind of exposure, I am not interested in Hollywood but really looking forward to getting my PHd in Physics next Spring.

Thailand has been a terrorist target for sometime, not just since the recent events in the south.

A few years ago certain nightspots were named in a list found of possible sites for attack..Nana was one of them...Pattaya was listed as a target but no specific target was named, Although Tonys, Marine, Hollywood and a few other places spring to mind as likely targets.

The Thais were well aware of the threats and at the time increased security, this has not decreased since then.

There are possible targets all over the world....So is anywhere safe ????
