So, what could potentially be the trigger to bring it all crashing down?

    Chinese halt buying

    USD (world) interest rates double

Can't possibly think anyone from EU, UK, US or Oz is buying with x rates being what they are.

In the end, many sellers simply must resigning themselves to living in their box for the remainder of their lonely, single lives. If the economy doesn't tank, and they lose their job, they can stay above water. Nothing changes.

The economy is weakening. I see it.

With even the Fed Chairman Yellen mystified with the consistent low inflation and sovereign states selling 100 years bonds at 2.1% , it is tough what big event could bring it all down.

An Asian financial crises is way overdue, the last one was 20 years ago. I have a feeling that a slowdown in China could be the catalyst, but people have been saying that for the past 10 years.

Bunch of bullshit. East Asian figures are up because close to a million Cambodians and Burmese went home to get the right papers for work and every one is recorded as a visitor when they come back.

As for the numbers on revenue, educated guess at best and more likely pure fabrication, plucked out of thin air. We all know the major tourist areas are begging for customers. I have never seen so many bars and restaurants closed. Real tourist numbers and revenue are way down, everyone knows it, and lying or manipulating numbers isn't going to change it.

Could a contributing factor be that both swampy and Don Muang are now international airports? A tourist that arrive in Swampy on a long-haul flight and then takes a budget carrier to Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, etc now have to enter Thailand and are counted as a tourist, at least by TAT's standard.

Nearly, if not all, flights originating from BKK are more expensive as the other way around.

That is correct and since more Thais start their flight from Bangkok, they end up paying more than joe-tourist.

Of course, the lucky few of us who have made Thailand our home, also gets this Thai rough deal, but lets face it we are just a drop in the big bucket.

Well I'm staying with CCleaner. I've got 64 bit Windows 10 so it wasn't affected, but I am still alarmed that one of the key o/s clean up security tools allowed this to happen or maybe it was Avast takeover fake news to make them look good?

Until now tho I haven't found a less adware intrusive free product so I'll give CCleaner the benefit of doubt for time being to keep the junk levels down.

How can I check and see if my computer is 32 or 64 bit?

Found it. I am actually also 64.

Because the farang also paid the airfare for the Thai since Thai Airways has double prices compared to the other airlines.

The exact opposite is a actually more true. The Thai's pay for farang.

You will find that nearly all THAI flights outbound (originating from Bangkok) are more expensive that inbound flights, so Thai nationals on average actually pay more.

  6. They just got a cash injection in May (2017) and now they need more money??

Thai Airways Int'l loses majority shareholding in Nok Air

Nok Air (DD, Bangkok Don Mueang) has issued a notification of changes in its shareholding structure, confirming that major shareholder Thai Airways International (TG, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) has reduced its stake to 21.57%, following a rights offering last month in which THAI did not participate.

The two next largest shareholders, brothers Thaveechat Chulangkul and Nuttapol Chulangkul holding 15.64% and 13.29% respectively, are now effectively the largest shareholder group with a combined share of 28.93%.

Nok Air successfully raised its registered capital in May through the issuance of new shares. Despite THAI choosing not to take part, the offering was oversubscribed, raising Nok's capital from THB625 million (USD18.3 million) to THB1.41 billion (USD41.2 million). The cash injection was needed after a disappointing 2016 saw a net loss of THB2.8 billion (USD81.8 million). Interestingly, Nok CEO Pattee Sarasin, also did not participate, diluting his stake down to 1.29%.

News site Prachachat quotes an anonymous source as saying that Nok Air is working towards forming a joint venture with a foreign airline, narrowing the field down to Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) or a Chinese carrier.

"Nok Air wants potential business partners," said the source, adding that a strategic partner would be expected to take a stake of around 25%.

Yes and this wine is actually bottled in Vietnam with grape juice from Oz and fruit juice of "black fruits" added, before being exported to Thailand. The white wine of similar origin has passion fruit juice added.

Since this wine is bottled in Vietnam, it really should say "Made in Vietnam", but it clearly says PRODUCT OF AUSTRALIA, what a deception.

Except for Australian wines, it is safe to assume that wine from other major producers, France, Chile, Italy, etc always will be 100% genuine wine?

It is refreshing honest words from somebody that actually represent the real-estate sector. Here most real-estate articles are disguised advertisement at best. In the Post today there is an article about Dubai and they say that real-estate prices are now 30% below the 2008 value. If that happens here, there could be some real nice deals to be found.

This could be true for Bangkok/Pattaya also: " The current vacancy rate stands at around 35 percent in preferred communities sampled while builders continue to add to the city’s supply, Downs said."
