Eight days before the inauguration, Vice President-to-be JD Vance said on "Fox News Sunday" that Jan. 6 convicts who assaulted police ought not get clemency: "If you committed violence that day, obviously you shouldn't be pardoned." Trump vacillated during an internal debate over targeted clemency vs. a blanket decision according to two insiders. But as Trump's team wrestled with the issue, and planned a shock-and-awe batch of executive orders Day 1, "Trump just said: 'F -k it: Release 'em all,'" an adviser familiar with the discussions said.

Colorado Supreme Court's Judgment Any definition of insurrection involves ''an attempt by people to hinder or prevent the US government from taking the actions necessary to accomplish a peaceful transfer of power in this country." The participants should "act in a concerted way, [but] need not be highly organised". In applying that definition to the events of 6 January 2021, the court found: A large number of armed protestors forcibly entered the Capitol Building. Actual and threatened force was used by those protestors. The protestors' use of force was concerted and had a unity of purpose, in that they wished to inflict violence against members of Congress and Mike Pence. Upon entering the Capitol Building, the protestors attempted to and did enter the chambers of the House and Senate, for the purposes of preventing the certification of the 2020 Presidential election. The full judgment can be read on the Colorado Supreme Court's website here: https://www.courts.state.co.us/userfiles/file/Court_Probation/Supreme_Court/Opinions/2023/23SA300.pdf. Whil While Trump pardoned virtually all of the 1,270 convicted rioters, he withheld pardons for now from 14 members of far-right extremist groups that were charged in the most notorious seditious conspiracy cases. But he still granted them commutations, releasing them from federal prison, where they were serving some of the longest January 6 sentences. e Trump pardoned virtually all of the 1,270 convicted rioters, he withheld pardons for now from 14 members of far-right extremist groups that were charged in the most notorious seditious conspiracy cases. But he still granted them commutations, releasing them from federal prison, where they were serving some of the longest January 6 sentences. These convicts were members of the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, and were among the first people to breach the Capitol during the attack. Some were found guilty of seditious conspiracy, while others were acquitted, but all were convicted of other felonies.

Vance said violent offenders would not be pardoned for the January 6 insurrection but Trump pardoned the lot. Apparently Trump and the staff started going through the 1500 offenders list, only pardoning the peaceful protesters, but Trump soon got bored, gave up and pardoned all! Short attention span, Donald!

Trump has halted a program to combat HIV worldwide that is credited with saving about 25 million lives. He has stopped supplies to a 40,000-person refugee camp in Syria, as well as Sudan, where at least 24.6 million people urgently need food assistance.

Trump has been called out for his nonsensical claims about water from the Pacific ocean being used to put out the California fires. "The United States Military just entered the Great State of California and, under Emergency Powers, TURNED ON THE WATER flowing abundantly from the Pacific Northwest, and beyond," Trump posted on Truth Social However the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) publicly disputed the president's sensational claims in a post on X. "The military did not enter California," the agency posted on its verified account. "The federal government restarted federal water pumps after they were offline for maintenance for three days. State water supplies in Southern California remain plentiful." Officials from various state agencies, as well as academics and experts, also issued statements Monday evening that disputed claims by Trump and other Republicans who say that policies on the environment and other areas had hindered efforts to fight the fires, saying that reservoirs in the Los Angeles area had enough water in storage to battle the fires and meet other needs. “Water supply has not hindered firefighting efforts," said the Association of California Water Agencies. "Reservoirs in California are at or above average storage levels for this time of year, thanks in part to years of proactive water management.”

Donald talking nonsense as usual. 24-27 million Russians died in WW2, not nearly 60 million. 8 million Ukrainians died fighting the Nazis, by the way. Good to see Donald claims the Russian economy is failing, or is he brainwashed by the mainstream media, lol?
