Dom, captain of Wild Boars football team, killed himself at school in UK
bannork replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Perhaps he was homesick and felt out of place. Presumably he could phone home in his free time. Maybe he realised he didn't want to be a footballer or study in England but felt he couldn't let people down. Presumably there was no suicide note. RIP Dom, it shouldn't have come to this.- 32 replies

Tai Orathai, Thai folk singer takes Korea by storm
bannork replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Her big hit 15 odd years ago. When everyone was getting mobile phones and suddenly all the Issan and other Thai migrant workers working in Bangkok and the Eastern Seaboard could get in touch with each other easily. Who here remembers going to a public phone box with a yellow card, costing 500 baht, an arm and a leg at the time, and trying to phone abroad through the deafening traffic noise? -
Do I have to be out of Thailand for 180 days?
bannork replied to bannork's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My wife died three years ago but I want to visit her daughters and grandchildren whom I am close to. -
I had a retirement visa for three years but for various reasons I have now returned to live in the UK. However I wish to return to Thailand two or three times a year, a month at a time, to visit my Thai family. I plan to use the visa on arrival, however I wonder as I was in Thailand all this calendar year until September 10, would the authorities demand I remain outside Thailand for 180 days before I can get a visa on arrival? Thanking any replies in advance.

Bowie didn't attend the funeral of his guitarist, Mick Ronson, from his Ziggy Stardust days. Some blamed him for that. -

Activists Plan To Visit Thaksin At Hospital Uninvited
bannork replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
• Abusing authority to order the Exim Bank to approve a 4 billion baht loan to Myanmar, benefitting his own companies. • Unlawfully ordering the Government Lottery Office to sell two- and three-digit lottery. • Abusing his authority to have a concession contract of Shin Corp amended to allow it to pay an excise tax for mobile phone operation services instead of concession. And the one he got away with: 2001: hiding millions of baht in his servants' names for years. Suspected of manipulating the stock market. He claimed it was ' an honest mistake' !!! -
Disappointment in Srettha’s Putin Phuket invitation
bannork replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Presumably Putin went to China to flog cheap gas and oil, and buy weapons. Plus he's in need of powerful allies. None of these factors apply to Thailand so I can't see him taking the risk of leaving Russia. Unless the lure of somtam, grilled chicken and a bottle of Leo are irresistible. -
Invite the mass murderer over. A few vodkas, then down to Patpong for a private ping pong show laced with novichok. The amount of tears that will be shred around the world could be collected on a petri dish.

He could be arrested and detained at the police hospital. Given a CT scan, swiftly followed by an MRI in a vain attempt to locate a heart.

Actually a lot of the workers borrow money from loan sharks to get the jobs abroad. -

Famous Thai rock band Carabao to disband in March

Sunaree had the voice of an angel. At a concert at Wat In in 1992, a few months after Phum Puang's death, someone in the crowd called out for ' World of Pheung' Phum Puang's hit. Sunaree sang it unaccompanied, her beautiful voice carrying across the temple's roof tops. Years later she took up with a Dutch lad if I remember right. She should have chosen me, a penniless English teacher.... it's not too late. 555. Sorry, back to the topic, Carabao. I saw them back around the time of the first Gulf War at a free peace concert in Lumpini park. They were greatly enhanced by a long haired American singer with a powerful voice. Aed's vocals were always weak
